the english officer in this scene can speak both english and french.
since daniel day lewis can only speak mohican and english, and the cheif can only speak huron and french, the captured english officer must translate to the chief in french.
Some ppl leave the JWs and throw themselves into a whole patchwork of another version of Jesus. They think its the "real Jesus" and this jesus comes with the "correct" mixture of bible verses. Its not possilbe to entertain the idea of NO jesus since that would make them come to terms with Life as we know it.
you don't have to answer all of them at once.
i would be happy to see your answers to any of these questions.. remember, the inspired apostle peter gave this direction in the holy scriptures: "always [be] ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.

A suggestion
Why not make a car group for field service and head over to Barbara Andersons place. Since you have the backing of Jehovah, along with his spirit, you will no doubt be able to persuade such a gem of a human being back into the TRUTH. That way after bringing her back into the organization many on this board will rethink how utterly stupid WE ALL ARE and rededicate ourselves to doing Jehovahs will again. Then your purpose for being on this board will not have been in vain.
i don't mean the basic moral code of behavior (that many non biblical lands also just happen to have) that people use to model their lives, but the 'deeper' stuff.... assuming that god has had his divine plan for vindicating himself etc ever since he figured that adam may screw up, and he needed to let faithful mankind know the 'plan' and how to survive it all.... why is the important stuff all gobbledegook?.
the time frame, prophecy, signs and so on are all so obscure that even the cleverest theologians can't understand it or agree on it.
the 'truth' is so muddled and juggled up that every understanding can be logically challenged with an equally challengable one.
When i left JWs i made it my lifes ambition to investigate other churches and beliefs. The more i saw the more i hated faiths. It just seemed to be a kind of a lifestyle ppl choose to have something to give their lives meaning. So i decided to make a decision on the Bible and after yrs of reading and thinking about it i decided It has to be more fable then fact.
To say that it would have been EASY for god to have made the bible easliy understood, I think, doesnt lend itself to understanding god because the god of the bible isnt easliy understood HE is complex. Very very complex. That he would have insured the BIBLE be unequivocally understood seems to contradict his biblical personality..again God is portrayed as a very complex guy who doesnt tell anyone the answer to many questions as to why it is what it is....O sure u can get lots of stuff out of the bible that tells you how god answers prayers and how he loved the world so much but the hard questions are left out and God is silent on so much its not even worth discussing because PPL NEED something to believe.
Having said that I am not ready to say there is absolutely no god. I just dont know. The FACT remains however that, the bible can and is interpreted in so many many different ways that , if we are being honest ....REALLY HONEST, we have to admit that the author probably isnt GOD.
a brother i spoke with from bethel to me seemed discouraged and lacking zeal latley...he spoke of leaving which shocked me since he was there for decades...he left to get a full time job!!!
it was his whole reason for living since i've known him!
others have said the new doctrine of "blended generations" of anionted seeing armagedon is "confusing" or "i just don't get it"...one brother my only close friend is furious and said i qoute..."they seem to be blowing smoke up our ass!

maybe theres something that has tugged on you that made you evalutate how you believe and maybe you put it in the back of your mind, or are trying to come to terms with the emotion of it all.that it just might not be the truth..... get as upset as you need to get, but arent you glad this board is here? Even if you end up never leaving the JWs you gotta admit there are a lot of reasons BEYOND ANYTHING ever discussed at a meeting as to why ppl just dont feel its the truth anymore :) Denying is what you keep doing until tears fall.

All this would be true if it wasnt for the fact that the first century FaithFul and discreet slave survived up until CT Russell even though the light dimmed it was still shining. CT RUSSELL was able to communicate with this long established SLAVE CLASS Jesus left behind on earth. ...as he said "I will be with you until the end".... WHen jesus came to his temple he had to choose someone so he might as well choose Russells group as everyone else wasnt alert enough.So the preoccupation with TIME was to be expected because it helped them keep on the watch while everyone else was worried about the already ingrained satanic preocupations of the day....on the other hand Russell was able to draw a line in the sand. No other group was able to draw such a line in the sand to distinguish themselves from those Jesus didnt pick. Thankfully Russell had the previous Faithful and discreet slave class from the first century on hand to help him and his group make the right choices. Prominent of course was exulting the name behind the tetragrammaton. SOmething no other group did and something apparently Jesus delighted in finding "someone out there doing". Hence Jesus choice of the IBSA.
