religion generally sickens me.
for various reasons.
perhaps in my own case it is just because of my bad experiences.. however, in my own moments of deep thought i cannot help but realise how absolutely insane some of the teachings are.. how can jw's (and other religions) say that every human deserves to die.
The funny thing is, "original sin" is a church doctrine that emerged many centuries after Christ, and it doesn't even stand up to scriptural scrutiny. The NT refers to "sin" coming into the world through "Adam", but what these religions don't tell you is that the early Christians viewed the Garden of Eden story as an allegory.
Jesus exonerated little children from inherited sin when he said that we had to be like them in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Yes, shamans use peyote....among other things. Not recommended, as the spirit realm is "bi-polar" and even some Masters can't tell the difference between the higher and the lower. It's better to be mentally coherent.
There's no doubt in my mind that mind-altering drugs can exacerbate contact, , but I think its because our minds are so cluttered with chatter when we are "straight" that it totally cuts us off from our inner higher self, and the drugs help quiet that chatter. But I think it can leave people open to a bad experience.

I have wondered about that myself designs, and many people have asked me that question. I think it has to do with each individual's degree of "spirit" and what level of "awareness" they have reached. Buddha spoke of a state of "limbo" for some, while others move on more rapidly. I also think, because of what I have learned in metaphysics, that consciousness determines our reality, and on the higher planes where there are no physical boundaries, our reality can be anything we want it to be, like a very lucid dream. I have personally experienced astral projection so for me it is a very real truth. So a Christian's astral can be different from a Buddhist's and it doesn't make them any less true, because the truth is taught esoterically at the base of ALL the major religions. Even the Bible, as evil as it is, teaches the truth between the lines, that every reality is a thought before it becomes a reality.
Personally, I've come to the conclusion that there are FAR too many people reporting past life memory and near-death experiences for it all to be the work of demons who have nothing better to do than play tricks with our minds so that Jehovah can destroy us at Armageddon as punishment for believing that we have immortal souls, something that I ALWAYS had a hard time swallowing as a JW.

Ecclesiastes 12:6,7 has more "scriptural" proof (for whatever its worth) that there is a spirit that goes back to the "True God who gave it" after the "silver cord is loosed". This is a tether or lifeline that connects our physical and spiritual bodies while we are alive.

had a good look into the doctrine, beliefs and practices of jws and to be honest, i don't really see anything wrong with it at all.. it's biblical and i've had such an eye opener the past year or so reading some of their books and magazines .

Just a few months of Watchtower indoctrination can cause damage to your self esteem that will take years to overcome. It can cause a person to make decisions that will seriously damage the rest of their lives and the lives of those around them. Everything the Watchtower teaches is directly the opposite of what a person needs to escape the mental pain and suffering of spiritual ignorance. It only "makes sense" in light of their OWN VERSION OF THE BIBLE THAT THEY INVENTED, and it doesn't even really matter because the New Testament is a product of the Catholic Church fashioned and finalized HUNDREDS OF YEARS AFTER CHRIST by selecting ONLY THE WRITINGS THAT SUIT THEIR DELUSION. The Watchtower is controlled behind the scenes by the Jesuits, the most evil religious organization on earth. They even admit that their Bible was put together by Jesuit priests, Theosophists, and demon-channelers.
I ruined FOUR decades of my life because of this cult, and I'm STILL paying DEARLY for a few of the decisions I made while I was reeling in Watchtower insanity.
Run for your life from this crazy cult.

Yes, the Bible can be used to advocate disfellowshipping, rape, incest, murder, war, stealing, plundering, child sacrifice, cruelty to humans and animals, torture, castration, self-abuse, extortion, witchcraft, black magic, bestiality, stupidity, ignorance, laziness, ethnic cleansing, false prophesying, prejudice, mysogeny, narcissism, elitism, slavery, racial profiling, prostitution, fascism, communism, jealousy, hatred, fear, lying, deceit, treachery, and striking people dead for holding back part of the price of their land, even though it's their own private property.

if jesus and the apostles and later jewish christians celebrated hanukkah, what grounds could the wt have for objecting if active jw's today did likewise ?
it would not be a returning to the things of the mosaic law as hanukkah was not part of that, rather it would be a returning to part of first century christian practice.. sd7 or someone could have fun composing the article telling dubs exactly why they cannot celebrate this rather lovely remembrance, as they cannot christmas, in the 21st.
Witchtower ownership would never allow any annual observance to compete with their "Screw the Christ" Black Mass every Passover.

Psalms 82:1 clearly says that the elohim are plural gods and goddesses that "sit down in the assembly of the Divine One". Kinda reminds me of the regular meetings that Satan sat down in as per Job 1:6. But there is a clear difference between the writings of the Yahwist and the Elohist.
You gotta admit, aside from all the crazy asceticism, that the gnostics had a pretty good explanation for the Old Testament Maniac God. When the Roman Church goes out of its way to destroy something the way they did gnosticism, it sends up a big red flag for me that maybe there was some truth in it that wouldn't be conducive to their nefarious agenda.
If the demiurge "Jehovah" of the OT is really the "God above gods", we're all really screwed.... might as well go back to the KH with our tails between our legs and wait for the Big A.

If the love of God enters our world through the sun, and Jesus was able to transmute that love 100 percent, why is it such a bad thing to acknowledge that? That is, in a nutshell, why Christmas is celebrated on December 25th. Surely we all know that this is not when Jesus was born. No one in this day and age is stupid enough to think that the sun is God... and I doubt any of the ancients were that stupid either. I think this is all kind of a no-brainer, and we have made it a lot more complicated than it really is, because we have taken the Bible literally and believed that God actually gets offended if he doesn't receive whole-souled zombified "worship".
So, go ahead and celebrate the Festival of Lights (Love), by sharing your love with family, friends, and everyone else.
