Just because the Ethiopian couldn't understand what Isaiah was saying doesn't mean that everyone can't understand it unless someone explains it to them. The holy spirit is available to anyone who is in Christ and has received his anointing.

1 John 2:26,27 "I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him."

A conversation with a JW on the Generation change

i don't post here much, so hopefully i put this in the right section.

if not, let me know.. i've emailed my aunt about the new generation change, just to see her reaction to it and what her mindset is.

i tried to keep it simple and not attack her personally as she has a heart of gold and has been a jw 40+ years.

Actual scripture... John 6:68 "Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." She misses Peter's point entirely! Peter identified a PERSON (Jesus) as having "words of eternal life" NOT an organization.

I mean, Do they really believe Russell had the truth when he died? He died believing that Jesus died on the CROSS, that the pyramid in Egypt pointed to 1914 or 1925 (whatever it was), celebrated Christmas and birthdays, believed that Jesus began his Kingdom rule in 1874. A JW would be disfellowshipped today for believing these things. Yet, Russell is view today by JW's as a faithful follower of Christ and part of the 144,000.

Answer: Jehovah's Witnesses. But does that matter? No! If one is a follower of Christ and has accepted him, he is part of the 'body of Christ'. Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon

jehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.

yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.

personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

If you could ask an elder your questions

what question do you want to ask or have you asked that would stump or have stumped an elder?

i'm in the position where my mom wants me to come back and wants me to have my questions answered (even though she has dodged most of mine) so that i will once again see its the truth and want to return.

so i'm going to set a meeting with an elder to see if he would be willing to attempt to answer some of my questions to prove to me beyond a doubt that i'm in the wrong.

Ask the Elders if they walk in harmony the flesh or the spirit?

If they say flesh...read to them Romans 8:8 "So those who are in harmony with the flesh cannot please God." and verse 13, "for if you live in accord with the flesh you are sure to die..."

If they say spirit...read to them Romans 8:14-17 "For all who are led by God’s spirit, these are God’s sons. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery causing fear again, but you received a spirit of adoption as sons, by which spirit we cry out: “Abba, Father!” 16 The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ..."

Joint heirs of Christ would mean the heavenly hope, correct?

If they walk in harmony with the flesh...why participate in all the shepherding calls, field ministry, talks and other works? They can't please God and they will surely die!

If they walk in harmony with the spirit... then they are God's children and joint heirs with Christ and have the heavenly hope... something most elders would deny!

There is no middle ground, either one is in harmony with the flesh or spirit.

I've seen it and I'm sure JW's will be pleased with it. It focuses primarily on two families.

1. One young witness who refuses a blood transfusion for a much needed surgery.

and

2. A holocaust survivor who is a JW and reunites with his daughter who is not one.

It obviously shows the JW's in a positive light but it leaves much out. Much could have been said in the documentary regarding what has REALLY happened regarding the issue of blood transfusions, organ transplants, and military service, but the public (including JW's) won't learn of it from this film.

page 371 paragraph 22 of the june 15, 1967 watchtower magazine says, "in addition to all of this, a persons faith can be weakened by what he reads and takes into his mind, dwelling upon "higher criticism," relying on worldly philosophers.

it should be remembered that, when we are reading a book, the author of the book becomes ones teacher, and for this reason great care should be taken in selecting reading matter.

Maybe you should ask the JW's BETTER questions like, why over the years does much of our "new light" become "false light"? (i.e. Why Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were not resurrected in 1925 as taught by the JW's).

Why "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" DIED?

How can we tell if any future "new light" will end up being "false light" as our past has shown us?

Where does the bible teach that the JW's became God's Organization in 1919?

Why does the New World Translation add the word Jehovah to the New Testament even in places where the New Testament is not quoting from the Old Testament despite the fact that not one of the 5,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament contains the tetragrammaton?

Where does the bible teach that membership of a man-made religious denomination is a requirement for salvation?

This may be "new light" to you but the JW's have been attempting to expose many other religions through their literature way before you were born. The JW's have there own website where they too attempt to expose other religions as being false. Here is the link... The End of False Religion Near.
