  When I first read the BBC site about this man it did say

  But less than an hour later the part He remains an elder in the religion was removed. So Danny was not telling lies when he first reported it.

  Where's the Great Crowd?

  sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum, but i'm at work and don't have time to search...i'm having a discussion (argument) with my jw hubby about the location of the great crowd.

  we've looked at rev.

  4 through 7 and he agrees with me that everything is in heaven "before the throne" until we get to the great crowd... does anyone have any easy-to-understand comments on this subject?

  When I read revelation 19 v 1 it tells me the great crowd is in heaven. I told this to my JW friend and he then said "maybe there is more than one great crowd"

  How can someone agree to be told what they can and can't read?

  i used to read the old h2o site and i believe they brought up that this place was up......either that or i typed in jws on search.

  When my friend told me he was a JW after 8 years of friendship and saying he wasn't, I needed to find out all I could about JW's, so I googled Jehovah's Witnesses.
  
  I found lots of sites most anti JW's. So I read lots of message boards and settled on this one as the people on here were not just bitter they showed a warmth and friendship for others who are hurting.

  will die hard jw's see any control issues with the sept km?

  i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.

  this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.

  my best friend has returned to being a j.w.

  after not going for 7 years.

  we had an argument because i dont agree with the shunning of any person by the whole congregation just because they don't want to be a j.w any longer.

  No it’s not Romantic it's platonic, he has been my best friend for the past 8 years now.
  
  I don't understand how anyone can just be told do this, and think that without being able to find out about it. I know now I was lucky to be born into the family I was. Without the blood and platelets I needed I would not be alive now.
  
  How do 2 people read the Bible and come to two very different conclusions he quoted the part they used about shunning so he said that makes it ok. I told him that we should do the part Jesus said and that’s to love one another as he loves us. Also Luke 6:37 should be followed 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  
  I just think it's not up to us to say who is a sinner and who is not and it is then not up to man to forgive someone's sins that's between you and your God.

  Thank you for your replies.
  
  It would be very easy to say with friends like him.... and move on but I can't. I had been very ill and had a bone marrow transplant and he was there all through my treatment.
  
  My friend has always had a problem with his emotions, and while we were talking about shunning, and that I don't think its right, emotions were also brought up and he said I get to emotional about things and I should separate them. I then said I think they (the watchtower) have helped to mess up his emotions.
  
  
  The last few months he has been seeing the bad in everything, everything was doom and gloom. I asked him to try just for a week to see something good in everything. We live in a beautiful world and there are lots of good things out there.

  And I am not even a J.W. never have been, never want to be, and never will be. My best friend has returned to being a J.W. after not going for 7 years. We had an argument because I dont agree with the shunning of any person by the whole congregation just because they don't want to be a J.W any longer.

  He told me early this year he was a J.W (when I asked him a few times before he always said he wasn't. I always had a feeling he was as he never celebrated Christmas)) I didn't know much about J.W, all I knew was they didn't have blood they went knocking on doors every week and they didn't celebrate Christmas.

  So I decided to look into it to find out what they were really about, as I can't say something is wrong if I dont know anything about it. It took me just a few hours to find out there was something really wrong with the Organisation, so I started looking into it more and more and to be honest it was starting to take up a lot of my time. I got the two books Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom I have read the first one and I am half way through the second one, I found it a very interesting read not vindictive not bitter just telling it how it was.

  I asked my friend if he looked into this organisation and he said he did and it's "the Truth" that was the first time I had heard it called that and it started to ring alarm bells. Dont all cults call them self "the Truth"

  Anyway I really miss my friend and hope that one day he will decide to talk to me again. The last thing I said to him was I will always love him no matter what and will be there if he ever needs me. I know I can't make him talk to me but I just wanted him to know I am there if he wants to.

  I feel the pain of others and I have never even been a J.W to lose one special friend is hard, to lose all your friends and families must be heartbreaking. There is no way they can say they are a loving organisation.
