it took a long time, but i can finally say i'm out and i took my family with me.. this is my first post but i have been reading here for a while.
i was brought up a witness, in a family that was very 'strong' (or so everyone thought).
i didnt have a relationship with my perents at all other than the 'family study'.
Welcome, and what a great story. So many of us here have had a long road in leaving, and not so wonderful stories to share.

Me too. I just keep moving the traps around and try different things to trap them. Bananna works good, but if you don't get them in one day, you have to redo it for the next day.
Or, you could be like me and just give up and start giving them names and sewing little clothes for them.

(self description burned in my memory) I'm thinking that the State of TEXAS is going to invade Bethel, due to a anomymous phone call from a young man complaining of emotional black male from one of his overseerers. They will take out all the young single men and hold them and not let them contact their families (who for sure sent them there), they will put them in isolation rooms with full mini bars and all the bad music they want to listen to, and tell them to have some fun. While the legal team of the WTBTS is trying to get control of the situation, this is being blasted all over the cable news network. Three young brothers at a time are interviewed on every major news network. They speak softly about how good it was for them at Bethel, and they knew of no emotional black male, and they could leave any time they wanted (HA!). Well the "people" didn't buy their story. All the young men were removed and put in various college domitories all over the country. The old men, cried, the old women dreamed dreams, the young women had visions and went to college too.
when i was a teen, i aspired to be an elder.
from my pre-teens until i was 18, i was in every circuit assembly and district convention----having either ministry school talks or parts or experiences.
at 20, i conducted a bookstudy in the afternoon, also regular pioneered, was the theocratic ministry school overseer in the 2nd school and regularly taught the main school.

I had to hide my yoda doll from my husband so he wouldn't throw it away. Since I left, I get to play with yoda everyday. If I ask him a yes or no question, he will tell me what to do. Only he says it like this: "Tell you what to do I will"
