as a few of you may remember, i suffer from bipolar.. when working at the uk home office, i was signed off by my doctor with depression and anxiety.. in the space of 11 months i was assessed by 2 home office doctors, both diagnosing me as unfit for work.
i eventually left.. how therefore, can stupid little people in the kh say you'll be better doing fs, ministry school and being regular at meetings??.
they have to be the most un-empathetic bunch of people on the planet.
Thanks to both of you.

*raises hand*
I'm on disability for depression and anxiety.
It is a beast!
Does anyone remember the account in the WT or Awake of a German convert whose mate left him and took their child because he decided to become a JW?
This would have been during the early or mid-90's, I believe.
The account stated that he was so disheartened by this that he used to bite his lips and grip his briefcase so tightly while in field service.
I often think of him and pray that he sought professional help.

a different way to look at the organization.. suppose that the organization was a country of 8 million or so.
given that jw's believe that god will one day slaughter everyone else and leave them to inherit the globe, this is a fair matter to think about.. would "watchtowerland" be a theocracy..... like iran?.
would it be ruled by a group of old men........like the former soviet union?.
If the Org was a country, the defection rate would be off the chart.

noah, my movie review.
you may have already judged this film and you've never seen it!
like many of its critics, you think you know what you're going to see and .
Amen!

....every form of government there is?.
the watchtower claims this is why armageddon hasn't come yet....apparently ol' j-man is showing how awful man is at governing himself.
.
The WT claims a lot of stuff, but I grudgingly have to concur in this matter about man's inability to govern himself so far.
Man has tried all sorts of governmental experiences, and come up short every time.
LOL.
I've come to the conclusion that something within us has to change.
That is the Bible's view also.

an interesting analysis of the view that the internet is killing off religious affiliation.
at any rate, the trend is there, whatever the cause.. .
Yes, and then you find those voices that express the same sentiments as yours, and you think, I'm not alone in feeling this way.
Group think is a powerful motivator to action.
People are fed up, I tell you.

so this time of year we get all of the feedback about how the majority of jws (and we) didn't partake.. if you self identify as a christian what do you believe about the bread and wine.
are you catholic and believe in transubstantiation, or greek orthodox and believe in the mystery of the real eucharist, or protestant and believe only in the symbolism of the bread and wine.. do you serve grape juice and soda crackers (chruch of christ i attended), real wine, real matzah, wafer, other.. do you take communion daily, weekly, monthly, annually.. how important is communion to you..
Well said, Crazy Guy.
Well said.
During the early days of Christianity, once a week seemed to have been the norm. (Acts 20:7)

i admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.
couldn't god have said: 'well, satan is a very naughty boy but you all know how great i am so we can end it now.
i will lovingly kill satan and his mates and that's that.
According to WT dogma, the issue of universal sovereignty was supposed to have come into play in the Garden of Eden when Satan challenged Jehovah's right to rule.
Adam and Eve took Satan's side of the issue.
Man was then given so many years to come up with a workable alternative solution, which, of course, he couldn't.
So, it was left up to Jehovah to settle the issue when His Son, known as Michael in the heavens, was sent to earth to suffer and die, and was raised to heavenly life and placed on the throne to rule all Creation.
Convoluted?
You bet!

Have you read some of the comments following religious articles?
The questions attacking God, the Bible, Jesus of Nazareth are the same ones to be found on here.
People are simply fed up with anything that is remotely suggestive of the above three.

The universal sovereignty issue per WT raises more questions than answers.
As if the lofty Creator would deign to bargain (because that is what it is) with one of His creatures!
