  Watchtower Society Fails In Unconditional Love

  was watching an episode of the young pope yesterday (really enjoyed the series), at at the end there it dealt with the theme of "unconditional love".

  it made me think of the love i have for people i know.. i looked up the wikipedia intro of unconditional love and it reads:.

  unconditional love is known as affection without any limitations or love without conditions.

  Baseball: Jackie Robinson in Cuba

  should jackie robinson's widow, rachel robinson, go to estadio latinoamericana in havana on tuesday, she'll see a game at the same site where her husband played 69 years ago just before breaking baseball's color barrier.. rachel robinson and her daughter, sharon, traveled to havana sunday aboard air force one for president obama's historic visit to cuba, including tuesday's exhibition game between the tampa bay rays and the cuban national baseball team.. jackie robinson's groundbreaking 1947 major-league season began with spring training in cuba as a member of the brooklyn dodgers' class aaa montreal royals farm team, playing games at what was then called el gran stadium.. as a kid growing up in cuba in the 1940s and '50s, my father, cesar, attended games there, watching his favorite team, almendares, one of havana's four professional baseball teams that played in the cuban league every winter.. the cuban league, which debuted in 1878, had been integrated since 1900 with white major- and minor-league players having negro league players and black cubans as teammates every winter..

  it was the reason then-dodgers' president branch rickey relocated the team's spring training base from jim crow-era daytona beach, fla., to havana in 1947 as he prepared to elevate robinson to the majors.. .

  my father didn't get the chance to see robinson play in cuba, but he saw many others, including future hall of famers ray dandridge, monte irvin and tommy lasorda and a then-little known dodgers minor league player named kevin connors, who would go on to find more fame as hollywood actor chuck connors in the rifleman.. when i was a kid, i would listen to my father's stories about the different american players — both black and white — who would play in cuba each winter.

  my g'daughter and her hubby are stationed in okinawa.. i talked with her a few hours earlier today, and she stated they're preparing for the worst.. young people are remarkably resilient, aren't they?.

  as i work my way through the history of judaeo-christian salvation, i have drafted a chapter on the trinity and early christology.

  as before, i am seeking corrections, advice, and suggestions.. the chapter is available at: http://www.jwstudies.com/formative_christianity_s_christological_combats.pdf.

  while preparing this chapter, i realised that i am not looking at the "evolution" of soteriology.

  Good thoughts they are, my brother.

  I can grasp the pros and cons of the Trinity.

  What I can't understand is how a sinless Child could be born from a sinful mother.

  For instance, in order for Jesus of Nazareth to be a descendant of David, He would have to inherit David's DNA.

  The DNA from Mary, in that one case, must have been purged clean of any trace of Adamic sin.

  Since God can't dwell in any unclean place, that is probably what happened.

  I look forward longingly to the time when we will learn the answer.

  Isn't it ironic that a ruler of the very empire that had Jesus of Nazareth executed was forced to convene a council to settle a dispute among His followers as to His nature?

  And, the dispute was never really resolved, but continues to this very day?

  We humans are a peculiar lot, are we not?
