I was originally going to post this on an earlier thread, but could not find my password, so I’m a little late. I hope it does not sound to out of place. Anyways.

I enjoyed your post and agree 100%. The WTBS use the fear of man to a great degree. One of the things we were supposed to make sure of when inviting a person to the memorial was that they know – regardless of their beliefs – neither to eat the bread nor to drink the wine. I can remember an elder talking to a man outside before the memorial begin, in fact he was still trying to convince him not to partake while in the back of the kingdom hall. The man said he knew he had been called by God and knew he should partake of the emblems, but by the time the emblems were past, the elder had convinced him not to partake.

In the org. to partake means you are somebody really important, a rare individual indeed. But in just about all religions that claim to be Christian religions, partaking or sharing in communion is the ordinary.
Thank you Shell for using Jesus’ words, while the WTBS uses the interpretations of men via the watchtower magazines, books, booklets, and outlines for public talks. Funny, how the proclamation is never made that these matarials are inspired, but most JWs will take these uninspired utterances over Jesus own words.

Do not fear the uninspired teachings nor the men and women who follow them.Listen to the words of our savior and to words that are inspired.

Dear Frightmare

When I was in the org, yes I narrow minded. I would not acknowledge the truth about what was really going inside the org, always blaming it on the imperfect brothers, and the famous "wait on Jehovah."

Then it hit me one day, after nearly a third of a century waiting for Jehovah to take care of all these bad things going on and that is,,,,
Jehovah doesn't clean a house that does not belong to him, but he will try to pull those individuals out who belong to him. We just do not like to believe that to be the answer.

If you believe me to be talking about one cong you are mistaken. I know two cases about 15 years apart in different congs, when two elders not knowing each other went through the same experience and that is:

While their teen-age girls were in high school they both had abortions. Were they disfellowshipped for taking a life and for having at least one of the parent’s support (in each case one of the parents went with the daughter). Any so-called worldly person that spoke of it was basically called a liar and were not believed, after all the ones denying it ever happened were "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES."

Frightmare if you think these things are not going on, you are the one who is narrow-minded.

Individuals Wife------Thank you for your comments. Life without the WTS can be truly beautiful, but the transition from WTS to Christ can be very difficult.

I was a JW for 38 years and was blind to many of the things that go on inside. I never really began to see or acknowledge these things until I was on my way out. Yes, there is a lot of hypocrisy in the JW religion.

My own dad is a practicing alcoholic yet still remains an elder. I knew a few elders in Sacramento, Ca, that drove to Stockton Ca, (about 40 miles) to go to bars and do their drinking so as not to get caught by local publishers.

I also have a son that was physically abused by his baby-sitter, who is an elder’s daughter, the mother pioneered often, so when we went to the elders nothing ended happening. We went to the authorities and as of right now the case is still under investigation but two witnesses that knew about it deny it, because according to WT doctrine if they admit knowing about it they are just as guilty as the abuser. The daughter always worked around little children and at the time worked part-time at an elementary school. While the matter is under investigation she is unable to work around little kids, which is one thousand times more than the WTS did. My son started getting migraines and throwing up and we had no idea this was why. The Doctors looked for a physical reason, so they were unable to help.

I had to come to grips with the fact that the JWs were no better than any other religion and this hurt because many in my family are JWs. In fact they are worse than many others because they are just about the only religion I know that proclaim to be a Christian religion yet do not let people eat the bread and drink the wine (communion). Another name for this is called “shutting up the kingdom.”

You have an urge to serve Jehovah, do not confuse that urge with going back to meetings. You have had a taste of their wickedness, Jesus is our mediator not the JWs, you do not need them to serve God. This is one of the scriptures that helped me:

John 5:39,40 “You are searching the Scriptures because you think that by means of them you will have everlasting life; and these are the very ones that bear witness about me. And yet you do not want to come to me that you may have life.”

We go to the meetings studying, and studying, and studying yet never having Jesus as our mediator. We go to their many, many books for answers ( Ecc 12:11 “ As regards anything besides these my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh”.). We let them become our mediator. So when we have an urge to serve Jehovah we feel the only way to do this is go to the only mediator we are truly use to and that is the WTS. It takes time to break away and learn to go to Christ w/o the WTS.
I hope this will be a beginning of a source of comfort for you.

jesus further related in the 15th chapter of john: "nevertheless, i have spoken these things to you that, when the hour for them arrives, you may remember i told them to you.

these things, however, i did not tell you at first, because i was with you.

so, the point is that jesus has not told his anointed ones certain things yet because the hour for them has not arrived.

Good post. I think most people reading can see that "You Know" is blinded.His lack of love in his words should indicate that to him.
I too, used to be just like him going around judging everybody when I thought I was teaching or doing what God wanted me to do, instead I was throwing out WTS propoganda and judging all.

I pray too that someday "You Know" too will see the light and not fight it an remain blind.

"Please, Is there really truth anywhere of...

i want to know what truth" is if its out there some where surely god will guide me to find it, i don't want to die without honestly knowing for sure knowing i have found the so called "truth.

i have been stumbled by others and by my selfish ways.

in the words of the song "send me an angel," cause i sure need one.. maybe i am not of their sort as the bible says and as elders have labeled me, but i do want to live and exist somewhere, and see the light what ever and where ever it is.

Jesus is the Truth and we do not have to have another man nor religion to be led to God all we really have to have is Jesus Christ.

Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you."

Luke 11:9-13 "And so I tell you, Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened.For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is open to everyone who knocks.
You fathers-if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."
Have you tried asking for the free gift of the Holy Spirit.

Shane,please, do not give up your search but continue asking, knocking and seeking.

Also here in the book of John, Jesus tell us how we can benefit from his sacrifice for mankind.

why is it that when someone knocked on your door and said, "hey, we have the 'truth', and some of us are 'anointed'" and yet, could not prove that truth... nor even explain that anointing... you believed?.

yet, when someone who makes that claim has absolutely no problem explaining it to you and telling you of it... blow by blow... you do not believe?.

Some people only want to beleive in what they can prove scientifically. Then they do not have to exercise faith, they do not have to learn to listen with spiritual eyes and ears.

Man has learned to communicate with people over great distances even when one is on the moon, but some refuse to beleive that God can do the same and so because of their lack of faith they do not yet hear, but He offers it to all.

If it was super easy, everyone would have faith and we wouldn't have to work on it.

How do the anointed know they are?

i have a question that no elder has given me a good explanation on.

how do the anointed jehovah's witnesses become that way.

i heard that somehow their spirit is born along with the holy spirit.

I believe I understand some of how you may feel.
I also know Shelby very well and perhaps can add a little to what she has said.
I too have heard our master, Christ speak to me often, not near as much as Shell, but often.

Remember that "faith" is one of the fruitages of the spirit and that is why sometimes we may have to keep on asking, seeking and knocking. So, that if we are lacking the faith needed to hear, then he may grant it to us.

I, myself had several chances to hear and I believe that is why I began partaking as a JW.
I was willing to hear that I needed to partake, but was unwilling to hear or rather except anything that was saying the JWs were not the truth, I would rather just "wait on Jehovah" to clear things up or to correct the false teaching.

At the time I did not realize it, but I was choosing what I would and would not hear. I had never been trained to know how to listen to the spirit, I been raised from infancy (birth) to follow the GB and no matter what, do not leave Jehovahs visible org on earth.

Regarding Saul in Acts 9:1-6 there was a bright light from heaven the shone around him and in verse 7 tells us the men heard a voice but seeing no one stood speechless. So, they could have put faith in what they had seen and heard even if they did not understand the words. They were following Saul before this happened, why not listen to him after this miracle.

As to hearing the voice, when he speaks to me it is from within, (Gen 24:12-21,42-45 focusing on verse 45 "before I was finished speaking in my heart") at first with my same voice, speaking the exact way I would. This takes faith not to go crazy thinking that you are talking to yourself. As time goes by and you began to be trained and learn how to listen, the voice becomes more distinct and does not resemble yours to the exact degree it used to. And you learn to identify it.

Matt 25:31-46 shows us that all we have to do to get life is "do good to Christ's brothers".

But if we are asking for more, such as a greater relationship or greater spiritual gifts he allows us to draw closer to the "light" or the Christ, thus this light reveals the deeper things of our hearts, and these things are at times very difficult to except, but by acknowledging and excepting these things and correcting them to the best of our ability, whatever that may be, allows our receptacles to be filled with this spirit.

He is very loving just as a loving parent with a child. He does not leave us, we must leave him. It's just that at times when we do not hear him we think he does not talk to us or is not interested in us.
Please do not give up, nor get discouraged, He is the hearer of prayer.
