Are any of the parties in the tape underage?
No.
lets say someone has a sexual encounter and a third party video taps it.
in canada, it would be illegal for the one that taped the video to show it to the elders as this would be "invasion of privacy".
what i am wondering however is if any legal action can be done against the elders and the wt if they view this video and take it into account in a judicial comity.

Does anyone have experience in such matter?
i don't know how so many who seem to be certain this life is it after being jw's seem to happily accept it and be fine with it.
i am living and trying to live as if this is it.
i want there to be a future life/afterlife, something, but i see how fast life comes and goes and even if i'm living it to the fullest, there is no peace for me with the thought this may be it.
I also take the time to enjoy the the present moment and appreciate what I have while I have it keeping in mind that everything we have, we are bound to loose it. But we can keep the memory forever.
For instance, if one year, I can afford a super nice car and loose it the next, than, I will say: "It was fun to have that car while I had it, I really enjoyed it", instead of "the car that I have now sucks, oh pity me!" I will actually be grateful that I once had the privilege of having a nice car, not linger on the fact that I don't have one now.

To be honest with you, I don't know if there is anything after death; On the other hand, I try to live believing it. In the end, once I am dead, if there is really nothing, than I won't even know it, so why worry?
The only thing that is very important to me is for people (or God) to be able to say: "He was a good man". So far, aside for what every JWs think of me, I believe I have achieved this. Hence, if death comes to me tonight or next week, I do not mind; I did my best.
Still, I have young kids, and I'd like to be able to help them and protect them as long as I can. And should I have the honor of dying an heroic death, the better.
this is in the july 2015 monthly program on tv.jw.org cedars wrote about it too.. starting at around 42:30 in the video, morris talks about the child abuse situation for almost 10 minutes.
link to video.
i'm writing a transcript right now.
hot topic on topix seems to be candace conti settlement.
but it's all quiet here.
are you guys aware that your hero, who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?

That is why, and I am repeating myself, parents will go to the authorities (police) to report that crime. Elders will advise parents to go to the police if they themselves are not mandated to report.
dont know if this has been up before, but i just happened to see it today.
its from the book "a study guide for god's word" which came last year if i am not mistaken.
anyway.... what is the deal with "about 1914 c.e" ??

First of all: That was a very well delivered speech: Great actor!
Now, I happen to agree. and for those who believe that it is only in the old testament: What about Ananias and Sapphira? they both died because they told the apostles that they were giving in all the money of the sale of their property while in fact, they kept a portion for themselves. Seriously... could you imagine a court in the US, Canada, or in Europe deliver such a sentence? None sense.
here is a change of pace, what was the nicest thing a jw has ever done for you or you have seen done?
it wasn't all bad all the time!
When I was a kid, my dad bought a house that turned into a "Money Pit". When the friends heard about it, they decided to help out. Turns out that for a weekend, the sight of our house was like that of a quick built project. Most of the congregation was there, sisters were cleaning up, painting, and preparing food while the brothers worked on the house.
Looking back at all the years that I have been a witness, I can truly say that I have meet amazing people and have witnessed wonderful acts of kindness. Unfortunately, I have also witnessed horrible, evil acts. What really bothered me at the end was their willingness to attribute all the nice wonderful things to the JW religion and dismiss all the bad things on the human individuals.
