James Mixon: One day, out in service, I preached to a baptist preacher. "How old are you son?" he asked. "I'm 13!". "Then how could you possibly know more on life, God and the bible, than me, a 50 year old preacher?" I replied: "The bible is the word of God is it not?" "And God is since time indefinite is he not? So both you and I are nothing compared to him. So, I visit my neighbours and let him speak through the bible." While this man probably stood silent, bewildered by the stupidity of my argument, I sadly believed that I had won an argument. So, for the next 20 years, I felt empowered by that conversation and believed that my personal knowledge and age were no obstacles to speaking teaching. Little did I know, I was just a puppet, doing the will of my puppeteers.

I don't have a problem with this article. If they are evenly condemning heterosexuals who have sex outside of marriage in the same way they do condemn the gays who have sex, than, I don't see a problem: They hate a lot of people evenly without discrimination. That is not the feeling I had from the kid's video though... they focused on the gays without even making a difference between being gay and acting on your sexual impulses.
That being said, I don't believe sex outside of marriage and neither do I condemn practising gays. As long as everything is mutual, responsible and mindful of the various risks involved, then, its all good. Yeah, Baby Yeah! (Austin Power)

Two things: 1) replace "your policy" with "our policy". If you are an active elder, than, you should use the "us" approach. 2) You are basically suggesting the "secret of confession" as applied by the Catholics. Problem with that is that some keep confessing all the time to the same sins and nothing happens. On the other end, you have JWs who have almost no tolerance: You did something wrong two or three times? Your OUT! Both are wrong. If I get this right, A JC should be called only when the confessor has no obvious remorse for his actions. While right now, the remorse is to be evaluated by a JC. I believe if you state it clearly and in a shorter text, you might be able to get the idea across even if they choose not to do anything about it.

Then why not cover the fornication/pregnancy in the video and the gays and lesbians at the hall? Keep in mind here that I have seen plenty of kids not listen to the program at all. Rather, they would listen to videos of sophia and caleb on their tablet. -

Doubtfully Yours: Objectively speaking, you are right in saying that home-school is not a bad thing. Statistically speaking, at least, in Quebec (Canada), they even get slightly better results than the public school system.
My fear in regards to JWs is that some parents want to shield their kids completely from the world until they end up learning about these things on their own. Than, things can get out of hands.

.... does meet the education requirements for Public School
Its not because its legal that I should agree with it :) By the way, I was bullied in school for two years. Largely because I was a JW: It was the worst period of my life. However, I lived through it and passed it. In the end, I believe I am much stronger today because of that experience. I can now both sympathise with victims and fearlessly face adversity.

Doubtfully Yours: If they had to cover homosexuality, why didn't they cover single mothers who have kids outside of marriage? Sophia: "My friend only has ONE mother - NO father..." I don't question their right to have their own ideas on morality. What I have a problem with is that they focused an entire video on homosexuals alone. -

Doubtfully Yours: Concerning home-school, I could not disagree more. I was raised a JW and attended school. One of the reasons I have a strong character today is precisely due to the fact that I learned to challenge the group’s thinking while standing up for my beliefs. It also allowed me to compare myself against the bests in various areas such as sport, mathematics, history, etc. and to push myself to excellence.
I have personally seen others be home-school and noticed that they were either behind expected results socially, emotionally or academically speaking. If they don’t learn how to deal with the world outside as kids, how will they face the world as adults?
