Well, even if they drive me nuts, I have to give it to the JWs that stopped him: Heroes! Plain and simple heroes. I've seen plenty of videos where the woman gets stabbed endlessly while people around watch helplessly. This guy was able to stab her once and that is all. Probably because the JW jumped on him like a heard. What ever they did that day, it was heroic.

CO visits me today
by Chook ini'm at home and hear knock on door , i sneak and look i see two men and recognise one voice and go back into lonunge and ask wife ( who is inactive believer) does she want to speak to elders ,she says no ,then literally 3 minutes has pasted another knock the 3 minutes seemed like an eternity.
so brave heart me think fuck it i'll answer ,i invite them in for coffee, i recognise one older man he is a unique elder who i genuinely was fond of when i was in his name is andrew ,the other guy i didn't recognise we will call harry ( not real name australia doesn't have that many cos with his same name).
so i think to myself i will tread lightly and not cause to much of a fuss for the wife's sake, but my personality is very the opposite of treading lightly ,as you read my threads you will realise i'm not timid.

I had my fair share of Elders visiting me over the years. I always made sure to remain factual, say some shocking things that, in of themselves, are not apostate. For instance:
- Did you see the progress at Warwick? Yes. Very impressive. I saw the transactions reported in the papers. I didn’t know the society had so much investments in NY: 1.2 billion!!! And they still have 9 buildings to sell! So do you brothers know what exactly they are doing with the profit?
- To the CO: I really admire your devotion. No retirement plan, no safety net. No health insurance since your volunteers, not too many vacations either, always on the road. Not enough to put anything in the bank and no children / grandchildren if you ever grow old in this system. You are really, really dedicated.
- Yeah, I keep a look at the tv.jw.org site. Never had seen the governing body so close. I imagine that it must be getting somewhat difficult to go around unnoticed as they used to do. But then again, they’ll be isolated in Warwick, in the middle of the forest, mountains, and a lac. Man, wouldn’t it be nice to live in a place like that? But seriously, who can afford a chalet these days?
- Isn’t it sad what happened to the girl who died for a lack of blood? The saddest thing out of this is that even when she’ll be resurrected, she’ll never have the privilege to raise her kid, she’ll be a stranger to him.
- Yeah, I saw that report about the 20 or so brothers and sisters who died in a kingdom hall in the Philippines. It’s a strange feeling to know that in this world, you’re not safe anywhere, not even in a full kingdom hall.
- Yeah, I see the carts out there. Did anyone you know take the truth as a result from those? Like do you have some success stories? – We placed 200 magazines. No, no. I meant, do you know how you actually impacted people’s lives? Did some people stop to drink, do drugs, smoke, etc?
In of itself, it doesn’t challenges any teachings and cannot be considered apostate, but it sure makes them uncomfortable.

Signing a noblood card when a person is fit and healthy is entirely different than standing on that decision when it means that you won't be able to hold your newborn baby ever again.
So True!
That is why the coroner's report is going to be valuable. The JWs can continue to delude themselves but the rest of the world will know different.
I bet they will say the coroner will have done a bad job. That he didn't truly cooperate with the HLC to understand fully everything that was involved. He is just a coroner, not a doctor, this case was too complicated for him to get it. He's hand in hand with the hospital doctors who probably lied and fabricated evidence, blah blah blah, Satan is behind this, blah blah blah, these are truly the last day, we must remain loyal to Jehovah. blah blah blah - I'll go fill a bucket of puke.

Despite all the coverage, JWs wrap them up in a bundle and convince themselves that they are ALL mislead. That Eloise died of an infection, not blood lost.
I think a lot of them are actually hopeless. I mean, if they are not shaken by this...what can we say or do to wake them up?

Pete Zahut: I don't know about Florida, however, here, in Canada, the parents who say no to a blood transfusion will systematically loose his kid to the court for 24 hours, the time for the blood transfusion to be administered. This procedure has become a standard on which, oddly, the JW parents actually rely on. I have heard JW parents say that they told the hospital to do whatever they wanted to do since they were going to do it anyway.

OrphenCrow: The mother of Eloise's best friend, the one that was by her side the entire 6 days when she was dying, wrote many comments on Facebook explaining their (the JWs) take on the events.
Here, I am paraphrasing various comments she made and this is what is being communicated to every JWs around quebec.
The alternative treatment Eloise received, Erythropoietin, was much more expensive than a blood transfusion and was in fact successful. Also, it was prescribed by the HLC who have their own doctors who can offer diagnostics. Though the hospital's doctor and medical staff did not agree with the HLC's diagnostic, they had no choice but to follow the instructions. As it turns out, they were surprised to see that Eloise's low blood cell actually raised and that she was on the road to recovery. Praise be Jehovah; the HLC was right! The hospital was wrong.
Unfortunately, low and behold, a streptococcal infection came back and killed Eloise. Came back? Well, yes... as it turns out, Eloise had suffered from this virus a few weeks prior to giving birth and simply thought that she was done with it.
Sadly, in the end, it is the virus that killed her. Not the lack of blood. Unfortunately, the media, especialy TVA, who are driven by an Apostate who simply wants to sell his book, are pushing the lie that she died because she refused the transfusion. Obviously, Satan is very strong and this persecution is founded in lie, nothing but lies. What they fail to understand , or purposefully ignore, is that a blood transfusion would have given her all the red and white cells needed to fight this virus. In addition to the blood, add a well known antivirus for the streptococcal infection, and she'd have survived. Like hundreds of other women who lived similar medical situations and survived. Without enough blood, the anti-virus could not even make its way to the lungs in time. Thats where the virus destroyed every good cells it could find.

I wrote the following in relation to the mother in Quebec who died for refusing a blood transfusion. Enjoy. :)
I personally grew up within the Jehovah's witnesses and was a member in good standing until 2013 (aged 35), date at which I became inactive. To help you grasp the situation in which Eloise actually was, let’s pretend, for a moment, that she would have preferred to receive a blood transfusion...
Eloise, on her hospital bed, has lost a significant amount of blood. The doctors inform her that she is the proud mother of a healthy baby, but that she should quickly take a blood transfusion to survive. Wishing to live and raise her child, she's willing to accept this transfusion. Only, she is invaded by a sense of terrible fear:
"What if my family, friends and perhaps even the elders, who are outside my room come to know that I got a transfusion? Heck, a member of the hospital staff could tell them my mistake! And if they see blood bags in and out of my room? "
"My family and perhaps the elders expect me to ask for their help so that they can support me in my refusal to take blood. If I don't do it, they’ll assume that I did take blood; they’ll try to find out and even later, after my discharge from the hospital, they’ll question me, trying to break me and if I hold up, they’ll still be suspicious for years! "
"Will I really be able to hold on? Lie to my husband, mother, father, and all of my friends? And if it comes out! The horror! I'll have to deal with a Judicial composed of 3 Elders! They’ll question me for two or three hours, behind closed doors, unsupported (well except, perhaps, for my husband). And if they judge that I am not repentant, I'll be disfellowshiped! I’ll become the shame of my family. My father will lose the privilege of being a respectable Elder... it's all his life. My mother, my father, my family, witnesses and all my friends will stop talking to me. They won't even answer if I call them on the phone. On the street, they’ll change sidewalk to avoid me! There’s going to be lots of sadness, and I'll be the first cause of it."
"And my husband, what will he think of this? Many are those who’ve seen their marriage broken because of their spouse leaving the truth. Is that what I really want? To raise my child in a divided family? And even if my couple survives, my husband will be ashamed of me and he won’t get proper respect from the congregation for many years. For sure he won’t be able to reach out for many years!"
"Oh, and the blood card that I signed!! In article 6, I gave the rights to the HLC (Hospital Liaison Committee) to access my medical record! So, if I take blood, they’ll see it on my medical record. And if I take that privilege away from them now, they'll know that I'm taking blood! "
While she thinks about all this, she asks the doctor for a few moments with her family. Thus, the family comes in, and starts chatting with her … in the company of the HLC. This Committee is composed of elders, experts on the issues of legal and medical law for situations involving Jehovah's Witnesses. It is they who have the right of access to her medical record. And it's also them who will work with the JC in the event that it accepts a blood transfusion. These men inform Eloise that there is an alternative treatment that will bring her back to health. And according to a relative of Eloise, who shared information on Facebook, this treatment is presented not only as alternative, but in fact superior to blood transfusion, which is more risky. In fact, she said, hospitals suggest blood transfusion due to the fact that this treatment is far less expensive than the alternative.
And there you have Eloise: surrounded by people who threaten her with shunning, who have a grip on his medical record, and who misinform her on the medical treatment she is about to receive.
The question that arises: Threatening with shunning and public shame a member of the religion for such a decision, and taking action that interferes in people's personal affairs… Is that not, in itself, a form of abuse and abusive coercion of the Jehovah's witnesses?

They still talk about this in the news this morning. Unfortunately, most JWs are shifting the blame entirely on the infection that finally killed here, dismissing away the fact that a blood transfusion would have helped her fight this thing. Not helping the matter, the news have not be entirely accurate. They have reported that she basically bleed out. I believe that the news reported would have been a more effective if they had said: "Due to religious beliefs, this woman ignored the doctors advice and choose a much less effective treatment, leading to her death. Thus, it is probable that her belief caused her death."
Even than, even if there is a small doubt that a blood transfusion could have saved her, JWs are going to take that and runaway with it: "You don't know for sure!"
What troubles me even more is that many JWs are saying that blood transfusions are just bad medicine, and that the treatment would have been worst than the alternative she has received. How delusional can you get?

I`m not exactly sure why I'm so mad about the fact that JWs are trying to shift the blame. By now, I should be able to expect these things and not be surprised at all. Yet, this morning, I feel anger. They know that their scriptural basis is so weak that, instead of being proud that this woman would have died for greater principles, they try to dismiss it all away purely on medicine: Its not the lack of blood, its a virus.
This is driving me crazy this morning.

Hey everyone. I have some "insider" update: According to JWs, she had the operation during which she go infected by a virus. It is that virus that put her in a coma for two days and finally killed her after two days. Hence, JW are already in full denial mode.
