If You're Annointed and You Know It Clap Your Hands...

ok...i see there are a fair number of posters here that have a "heavenly hope".... i can't help but wonder - what would it be like if a group of annointed (those that know in their hearts they will be resurrected to heaven) were to step up to the wbts, claim the authority the society vests in them as the true intermediaries between the great crowd and jesus, and try to give input to the gb?.

how could the gb posisbly say they are not part of the fds?

i suppose they would just paint everyone with the apostasy brush - "because i say they are and they disagree with me" - but wouldn't it be a marvel to see a group come forward to assert the authority and responsibility the gb says is vested in the fds?.

If they happened to be JWs, you can be sure that the GB would see to it that such ones are axed from the Borg. The GB, in their own eyes, are the ultimate human authority on earth, as they teach that they are the only ones that are backed by Jesus Christ. Anyone that challenges the GB would be viewed as apostates for sure.

A group that's not affilliated with the WTS at all that approaches the GB in this way wouldn't be given the time of day.

I don't care if someone disagrees with me. Complete uniformity of thought is what we have escaped from right? I can't stand patronizers for sure though.

The one that discussed Timothy was absolutely horrid in my opinion. They put so much speculation into it that it almost made me sick. With them trying to imply that Timothy's father disapproved of him being a Christian, and to say that Timothy likely passed on a higher education to pursue the missionary work then apply it to their own reasoning was very dreadful.

Why don't the WT send a WTPenney catalog for sisters, so everybody know what is spiritual clothing and what is worldy clothing?

Sports and JW's

i went and saw the niner's get beaten by the darn rams today.

anyway, i don't remember a single bit of sports talk when i was growing up jw.

There were quite a few that discussed sports in the Kingdom Hall, even though a couple of elders were so against ones talking about such things there. Overall, sports, especially football, is a big thing with alot of the local JWs.

With the organisation of course, alot of something not harmless is just as harmful as something that actually is. Obession with sports is definitely frowned upon, and watching the violent ones, like what Gopher already mentioned.

got it the other day from my husband.. never played the first one, i'm so loving this one.. has anyone else played it?.

The visuals/graphics are unbelievably amazing! I was quite surprised at the clarity of the games. It's pretty much just a handheld PlayStation 2. I don't play the PSP much but I would suggest for anyone to take a break from playing it after 15 or 20 minutes. That's what I do at least. I can really see how it can hurt the eyes of some.

Just another meeting - the lack of "occasion" and "grief" at JW funeral

i recently attended the witness funeral of a sister who lost her mother.

she lived to a good age.. most of the congregation were there.. if the truth be told, it was one of the most disrespectful funerals i have ever been too.

no one did anything wrong, but everyone was happy - a little too happy.. it was just another meeting to the dubs who attended.

At my cousin's funeral, she was fading at the time and so was I, the eder giving the talk pointed to us younger folks sitting in the audience and siad we were the reasons she stopped serving Jehovah, my dad defended it. I was pissed.

Are you serious?? That's sick to say something like that on that occasion.

.....that when a worldly person wants to join the wts, but is living a sinful life.....the witnesses go out of their way to lovingly help him out of his life of sin.

but, when a jw (one of their own) commits a sin against jehovah...that person is disfellowshipped.

case closed.....no love, no care,....just cast out.
