The last several months really have flown by for me since I severed all JW activities. It seems like just yesterday that I quit.

Does time fly by faster now that you don't go to meetings anymore?
by JH inwithout a doubt, time flies by much faster now that i don't have to prepare and go to meetings.

Sure, I play some of the games that are considered violent, like Halo, God of War, Twisted Metal, Grand Theft Auto, etc...and like SirNose, i'm not a violent killer.
The WTS is against violent videogames for sure. Sometimes I wonder if they're against ALL videogames. Besides, it's just one more thing to take time away from "Kingdom interests".

Enjoy my family, make friends that like me for ME while cherishing the ones I already have, finish college, live life for RIGHT NOW instead of for the "new system"......
........the possiblities are endless.

Holy misapplication of scripture Batman!
by Metamorphosis indon't know who else has to still suffer through meetings from time to time - but something struck me during last nights (thursday 12/6/07) final part from the km.
the part was on sharing our kingdom hope or something.
they list a scripture from hebrews 6 to start and end the km article and also one from ephesians 2. the whole context of those chapters in the bible is our hope in jesus and his ransom sacrifice and intervention as high priest.

You can't mention Jesus Christ very much around JWs without getting strange looks. It is very true....you don't hear them mention Jesus much at all. That's alot different than Christians you read about in the Bible.

oh....another 'hairy' story was when a CO came through and we had a young black brother w shaved head, aux pioneering. The CO said looked wordly and his pioneee application was to be withdrawn. They assigned my husband to the job and he refused......lots more drama over that.
The entire black family became inactive over the issue, citing racial discrimination.
That's odd, and very stupid actually, because i've seen many black brothers with shaved heads with priveleges. My head was almost always very near completely shaved and I had priveleges. One CO that wants to be a stickler for his own made up rules can really ruin things for the Org.

Yes frequent_fader_miles, be very glad!
I don't even consider it dating anymore when it comes to the JW way of handling things. How can you REALLY get to know someone when you have someone in an earshot of you? Then the frustration comes along which leads many to rush and get married. I'm so glad I didn't.

Thank You All
by R.F. ini realised that the end of the year is upon us, and now that i think back, it sure has been one hell of a year.. i have never been through so many changes within this short a time span ever in life.
between the death of my formerly held jw beliefs, the death of a very close family member, the death of an engagement, and the extremely high life-threatening surgery which almost caused the death of my mother (because of the blood issue by the way), things were very rocky, and of course i was hit pretty hard by those things.. i wanted to thank all of you for the support you've given me throughout these 7 short months.
alot of times, it is a great source of help just to sign in, not post, and just read some of your experiences.
