  You think they are going mainstream from here on out? I was of the mind to think they threw "Christ" in there to make them seem more Jesus friendly, just for once perhaps, even though we all know it was the same old things spoken from the stage as every year.

  I don't drink wine much, but I do. I drink it perhaps 3 or 4 times a month. I drink beer quite frequently though. I drink it every other day, downing 1 or 2. It seems to take a bit of the edge off.

  When Meetings Went Overtime, What Did You Do?

  i used to start looking at the clock behind me, look at my watch, look at the speaker or person handling the part and give obvious facial expressions expressing my dissatisfaction.

  it was a pet peeve of mine!

  a few times when i had the last part in a service meeting, i'd say, rather sternly,"this originally was a 15 minute part but because we are running out of time, we will dispense with (whatever).".

  I felt so sorry for children when this happened so often.

  You have 5 and 6 year olds sitting there after 9:00pm struggling to stay awake when they should be at home in bed. It's no wonder that many parents with children left right after the Theocratic Ministry School and skipped the Service meeting altogether.

  page 27-29 (study article): both of these sisters, lois and ruth, have unbelieving husbands.

  article explains that this can create challenges when there is a wedding or a funeral.

  lois follows her "bible-trained" conscience and decides that she cannot attend with her husband because she doesn't want to be under pressure to break her integrity and certainly doesn't want to embarrass her husband.

  One elder had me heated when he told me I was wrong in going to my brother-in-laws funeral about 4 months ago since it was in a church.

  These QFRs are so idiotic to me now. Has the WTS ever gotten the idea that it's best to leave decisions on these and other matters up to the individual? As was already stated here, the WTS seeks to micromanage the R&F's minds to the point that they can't decide on ANYTHING without consulted the Watchtower magazines or other literature.

  ok, so maybe i didn't take as long a break from here as first expected, but i've accomplished what i wanted.

  as far as borg stuff goes....... the co and po stopped by unannounced last week, even after i cancelled the scheduled meeting with him.

  i'm finally going to be deleted as an ms thankfully.

  Good one WTWizard, and it's something I wouldn't put past the WTS.

  Then again, the faders fading on the depression card could take the meds and lie about it's effect on them.

  What Cars Do You Drive Now?

  after the thread about our first cars, i was wondering what everyone drives now.

  i know that roller has the apostatruck, but what does everybody else drive?.

  i personally have a pontiac grand prix for work, and a saab convertible for fun.. jk.
