  Governments and voting - have there been reinforcments in this?

  was wondering since this an election year in the us, if the wts has been reinforcing its position on the voting ban...i thought it recently had become a matter of conscience, but tonight my wife was talking about how she realizes there is a need for governments, but there will be only one government which will bring peace.

  .

  i asked her about selecting the government and she said that there will always be people who vote and they can select the governements since overall government really does not matter.. i am guessing that she has spent more time with the pesky sister in her free time than i had previously thought.

  I would find it hard to believe the witnesses have changed their mine on voting it is one of their core beliefs.

  So I was at the Circus Ass-embly

  and noted how they made mention of how many people had left other religions, but of course they said nothing of how many had escaped the dubs.

  i just thought that was funny.

  i also must've heard what god will do as opposed to what he is doing like 700 times; and this was in one day.

  In a congregation of 100 people how many honestly count their field service time correctly? I don't remember any especially the elders! I do remember being show how to get as many hours as I could without actually doing the work.

  It sad to think that a group of people can believe that their field service reports will determine how soon God will end the world.

  Living the "truth" while your living a "lie"!

  i find it frustrating because mine sure hasn't!

  maybe it is all the jw's who have ubm's who do most of the door to door now?

  If slacking off can be defined as getting out of making cold calls by break after break and return visits then the witnesses have never done the door to door work effectively in the first place!

  Its one more lie - like being in the truth. The better question posted should be tell me how you get out of doing the door to door work and still count the hours to look good?

  Or should guilt be the motivating factor behind love of neighbor?

  Or better yet - if the witnesses were not made to go door to door through shame and the org did not make it a law, would they do it for love of neighbor?

  Or if they were never told to go door to door by the org. would they see it as an moral obilgation to God?

  The most heinous of groups boast of numbers from child moslesters to corrupt government in order to support their sickness.

  If truth and shame are the tools to dry up corrupt groups then these instruments have been effectively used against the human race.

  If your holding your breathe in hopes that Jehovah's Witnesses are going away then the history of religion does not repeat itself!

  do you remember all the munipulation and antics witnesses use to get out of actually going to the door and talking to people about the bible?.

  i only bring this up because in another thread i posted someone made the assertion that if witnesses voted as a group they would change the election.

  it like saying the witnesses go to every door in the world with the good news and their the only group doing the work!.

  I knew an elder that actually hated the door to door work so much he would have me fill in for him when the circuit overseer made arrangements to work with each elder in the door to door work.

  Does some actually think the witnesses could vote as a block and change an election? I remember one circuit overseer bragging how if the witnesses were to fight in war they would have the greatest fighting force on earth!

  Does anyone believe this bull after experiencing field service?

  Well nothing really changes the same was going on 20-years ago, but to think they could organize a voting block to change something is like living the lie to be in the truth!

  Do you think that many of them are ashamed over the many fail prophecy and doctrinal changes over the last 10, 20 years. It pretty hard to have zeal if you inwardly believe the doctrine is not soundly based on truth.

  I live in the same place for about 4-years in those 4-years the witnesses have called three times. Now mind you I live right in town they never use the bible just leave a mag. they seem almost fearful to talk about the bible.

  I never say a word just thank them and take the mags and throw it away. My point is what every happened to calling once a month I work out of my place so I would know how often?
