No, they don't teach that. They teach that they (JW) will be part of the Great Crowd but there will be so many others as God sees fit.

Jehovah's Witnesses have since the 1930's when the Great Crowd was introduces " as millions now living will never die". Held out offically that the only people suviving the Great Tribulation are Jehovah's Witnesses. Furthermore, they used Noah and the Ark as the counter part to the modern day orgazation of Jehovah's Witnesses being the only group surviving. That is, no children that are not children of Jehovah's Witnesses will survive the end if they are not dedciated parents of the organization. In fact, those point are made clear in the "Survival Book".

It has always been an uncomfortable position for the witnesses in the door to door work and franklymost avoid the offical stand of society. I would have to see the Watchtower artcial that actually states what you are implying in your statements.

How do we know? Does every account in the Bible have a greater meaning or a prophetic fulfillment? How many of them? How do we know? I for my part think they do and there is a way to figure out the dimensions

I think you are parsing my words and missing the big picture of basic bible teachings. Jehovah's Witnesses from the bible students forward (over 100 years) have applied the stories (old tesiment) in the bible as applying to modern day Presidents within the society or the society itself - anyone that has read the many books and articals of the Watctower Society knows this to be a fact.

Many of the prophets and Kings of the bible prefigured Christ Jesus; Abraham and Isaac's, Joshua, Noah, Moses, David and we can go on. And the bible states these a prefiguring Christ Jesus. They help us to see a clear picture of what His rulership would be like.

The point of the post is we don't need more prophets such as Russell, Rutherford etc.. Christ is the reality of the old testiment. And when we look to any man other then Christ Jesus for futher prophecy we will be mislead.

Certainly there is prophetic fulifillment of the old testiment Christ himself stated there was and the apostle also did but each and eveytime they did it pointed to the center of God's purposes and that is Christ Jesus.

The thing itself cannot possibly picture the owner of the thing. The Sabbath cannot picture its own Lord, Jesus.

And I would argue that the Sabbath law was instituted by Moses but the concept of the Sabbath transcendences the Mosaic Law, if we believe in the Bible. It is a divine rhythm, a concept we first encounter in Genesis 2:1,2. Thus it is older and superior to the Mosaic Law which was abolished by Jesus.

First the bible teaches that Moses was told by God to instituted the sabbath that not debatable it is a fact found in all bibles. That first command to obey the sabbath was given under the old law and thus the punishment for not obeying the sabbath.

Death was penalty (read your bible) and anyone not obeying this commandment was to receive death. That is the point of all the Law it produced death. What is the only way out of death for a Christain? Basic bible teaching Christ Jesus removed the that penality by fulifilling the Law.

If you do not stop justifying oneself By law then you cannot enter into Christ Jesus because He is our justification. Thus, He is the Lord of the Sabbath. If you enter into Christ Jesus you have life. It does not say you get life in a "New World Order" during the 1000 thousand year rule of Christ Jesus. You must be washed clean in the blood of the lamb Christ Jesus to survive the Great Tribulation that is the true Sabbath rest One must rest from their works and worshiping God through Christ Jesus.

If you do not enter this Sabbath of Christ Jesus you remain in sin and death.

I agree with the two points taken alone. But I partially disagree with the conclusion you reach. You are right in saying that law and works are inferior to spirit and faith but the way of proving of ones obedience depends on the time one lived in.

No! The Law was to produce faith that is more then obedience and that is why Christ time and again reproved the Jew's that the Law did not produce the fruits of faith. Subsequently, they fail to recognize the Son of God. So he went to those cursed by the Law tax collectors and sinners. No one could be justified by the Law they could be justified temporary by the blood of animals. No one could perfect their faith by Law.

By the faith of the prophets they were justified in God's eyes and that is why if we do not have faith in Christ Jesus we cannot be justified in him.

JC, just a few more comments regarding your post. There are chronolgist that us the bible as JW"s do, but once they miss the main point of the bible "Christ Jesus" is the fulfillment of all prophecy and scriptures they bend the bible to fit their numbers.

How could a person read the bible and not know the main basic point if they weren't bogged down in chronology and in hanging their eternal life on it? Just as you have openly acknowledge in many post your salvation comes through chronology.

Is chronology in the bible anyone reading understands the history of Christianity knows that it is in the bible as is the old law. The argument of the new testiment was not being under law or bring it back if a person did they lose the underserved kindness of Christ Jesus and come under slavery. Does the old testiment help us to better understand Christ Jesus that he alone is the reality of all the things written in the past? I believe it does.

But if one period is brought back to uphold as law over the new law of love it requires going back to all of it and that is the problem with chronologist they have done exactly that. Not just JW's but other groups as well.

The sealing of every last life according to your bible is done by God. If you live in a country and were in a dungon and never talked to another Christain or had a bible - God would speak to you by Holy Spirit chronology would not speak to you, And if the end of the world came you would be sealed. So no! My life or no Christain life depends on chronology. They already have life in Christ Jesus the fact chronologist do not really believe that is very serious matter.

The bible is the Word of God (Jesus Christ) speaking by Holy Spirt to Christ apostles all those belonging to Christ Jesus are of his body have the same Holy Spirit and they lack nothing regarding where God is and what He wants them to do and when. And that is why my dear friend everyone in the org of JW's waits on the GB because they believe God speak directly to them by his Holy Spirit.

Furthermore, they teach that if you are not baptized into the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses Jehovah God will destroy you during the Great Tribulation. Pathetically, millions of Jehovah’s Witnesses professing this doctrine are waiting to enter into God’s Sabbath something Christian have been doing since the time of Christ!

Failing to understand basic bible teachings that all scriptures prior to Christ Jesus having come into the world are written about him. They are or will be fulfilled by him. Not realizing the prophets the physical temple, and scriptures are previews of Christ Jesus alone. Instead, they apply the, prophets, temple, and scriptures to Russell, Rutherford, other presidents or actions of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society.

Moreover, they fail to see the spiritual reality of the scriptures – viewing them with physical dullness in a hazy outline steeped in shadows, thus, stumbling into a life of self-justification by works of Law.

(Israelites were being feed by manna at this time in history) and in faith wait upon God to provide their needs for the next day.

Being justified in Christ Jesus is Spiritual/Faith superior greater and freedom, thus, when any doctrine misses the mark of Christ Jesus it returns to slavery, inferior, self-justification and death;

Thus, Spiritual vs Law, self-justification through Law and being justified in the Lord of the Sabbath – which is greater?

The book of Hebrews tells Christian how to enter into reality of the Sabbath Moses instituted, that is, the Greater the superior Sabbath and how for them not to revert back into the inferior through self-justification and works of law.

“After God had of old spoken to our fathers at various times and in many ways by means of the prophets, He has at the end of these days spoken to us in His Son, whom He has appointed Heir to all things and through whom He made the worlds. As the reflection of God’s glory and the true expression of His being, He sustains the universe by His almighty word. And when He had effected our cleansing from sin. He took His seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

“Today, as He says in David so much later, and as we mentioned heretofore, today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”

“Now, if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. Consequently, there is a Sabbath rest reserved for the people of God; for one who enters into his rest, by the same token rests from his work, just as God did from His own’.

Law hardens the heart the very thing sought through law, justification of our actions proves to be disobedience to God. Moreover, missing the mark of Christ Jesus the love of God, which softens the heart and allows us to enter into peace and rest with God.

Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot enter into the Great Sabbath because they cannot desist from proving them self through biblical rules. Furthermore, their doctrine teaches the physical New World Order is yet future Rest Day Sabbath of God.

Tormented by slavery to works of law slowly hardening their hearts to God underserved kindness through His Son Christ Jesus. They find themselves in loss for love of fellowman and steep in dark shadows of thousands of year doctrine

Their fruits are the same fruits produced by the Pharisees condemning Christ for such freedom given by a Father of Love. They have allowed men to take Christ place in prophecy belonging to none other then the Son of God.

Sadly after being disfellowshipped by the very people who disfellowshipped the Son of God they continue to punishes themselves by justifying themselves through biblical teaching only to condemn themselves more.

The thing God is creating is "new" a new "creation" those that are in union with Christ Jesus are his body. God place those members in the body of Christ they cannot be more or less qualified do to their own fleshly efforts.

God is the qualifier through His Holy Spirit those members cannot justify themselves no more then they can place themselves into the body of Christ by biblical wisdom. This should humble all members of the body of Christ seeing therefore the greart power of our God. Moreover, how vitality precious each member is.

Upon understanding of this basic teaching growth will occur no longer will a member be viewed a natural talent or be idolized by other members it is a gift underserved not to the person but for the growth of the body nothing added or taken away - in love. If God enlighten one is certain areas glory goes to God nothing more.

The child of God knows and has been convicted nothing good dwells in and of themselves aside from God Spirit, that is, upon recieving the incorruptable gift of God His Holy Spirit and Sonship a war begains - spirit against the flesh - corruptable aganist incorruptable. Nothing of this world or works of the old person can become a "new creation".

God does not put new wine into old wine skins - this battle of flesh and spirt each member of the body experience is indeed the testing of their faith and the very thing causing the growth in love to obtain the fullness of Christ. Through their unrighteous God righteousness is brought forth. God did not pick natural talented men to be the conerstone of the New Jersalem He did just the opposite. God choses hearts that humbly recognize the unspeakable gift of grace.

For a group of men or a person to set themselves up as kings over the body of Christ because of a gift it is a serious matter. If it be chronology or natural talent it diverting and deprives one of the underserved kindness of our Lord and Savior.

It steals the gifts given to the body and uses them for flesh gains. Moreover, it gives a secondary and inferior position to Christ Jesus who is the fulfillment of all thing He alone being the living word of God the first and last the begaining and the end.

And that is why all of the apostle could say without compunction they were "slaves of the Lord Jesus Christ through the underserved kindness of God"

If one focuses on everything is complete in Christ Jesus as the bible teaches the rest is easy to understand.

If a person then understand that Christ brought us to a Spiritual understanding of God rather then the physical relationship the Jew's had for thousands of years it make more sence.

If you then understand how great the spiritual relationship is over the physical is one cannot help but understand the importance of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

If all things were fullfilled in Christ that all prophecy is found in Him and Him alone then the last days are for a Christain every day that they live.

Why? Because Christ stated that we can only live one day at a time, we must always be perpared.

If that is true we would have other supporting texts and the in the book of James condenmed brothers and sisters from living and plainnig years in advance,

All Christian have live in the last days from the time of Christ, thus, that is why we show throughout history (since Christ ) all Christain thought they were the generation that would see Christ return.

Christain have recieved life already by accepting Christ their life physcial life can end any day that is the end of their earthly life as it is stated it is always good for them. It matter not one wit what time they live in exspect the fact that God has state there would be greater test upon those living closer to the end of the world. Other then that all Christain would be tested and all that maintain faith in Christ to their end receive the promise already given them through their faith.

My dear friend chronology is not the oil in the lamps of the virgins that is clearly stated though out the bible as representing God's Holy Spirit.

The lack of oil is due to being part of this world dulliness through fleshly things not bible chronology. Being without spot from the worlds has been and is the test upon all virgins of the Holy Spirit. God has promised He does not lie if; you accept His Son you have eternal life.

The Spirit of God testifies to that truth. It is good that one is perpared at all times if it be at the time of Christ or 2000 years later it will come as a thief. Waiting implies and action mentally that action is always presenting oneself as fully dedicated to God and without spot from the world.

Every born again Christian from the time of Christ understand that all things from their new birth is a gift from God. God's Holy Spirit is that gift working in many ways. The cry for the virgin does not come from earth or man it comes from who?

The enlightment for those having insight comes from above as does the abundance of knowledge the shinning comes from the Holy Spirit increased to those found in favor not chronology. God gives the free gift of His Spirit to all his Children not all use it correctly. Some choose to grieve it by works of the flesh or lack of faith in Christ Jesus. Those works of the flesh can be earthly teachings dedication to false doctrine of being mislead by false dates. False org that replaces Christ Jesus as the only way and means to salvation.

God is not a God that breaks promises or lies. He does not promise salvation through dates found in the bible. He does not state If you accept His Son you have life.. but caveat emptor (let buyer beware) you must first figure out bible dates.

Early Christain were warned against putting hope in dates they were also told time and again everything that was needed was in Christ Jesus for salvation. Those early Christain were not lacking in a full understanding of Christ that is a org teaching. They had all knowledge and understanding given them in fullness and power.

In fact, its the other way around Christian would become over grown by weeds and darkness and confusion would enter in and many would fall away from the faith and end up in loose conduct in the last days. Because of becoming part or the world which cause a loss of God Spirit and creates spiritual sleepiness.

The goal of our faith is salvation our faith rest in one hope there is no other hope but Christ Jesus. It is not faith in chronology our faith is not proven in belief in chronology happy are those that don't see and yet believe.

There is no way a person that accept Jesus Christ lose their life at the end to this world because they have already recieved life in Christ Jesus and that is the reason early Christain after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at pentcost talked little if at all about chronology. Their salvation was through maintaining their faith in God's promises to them in Christ Jesus. God would do the rest He caused the growth in the body - knowledge is pointless until it is perfected in love.

Love is pointless unless it believes the promises of God.

One does not seek knowledge of chronology to get life or salvation it is a pointless effort that shows a lack of faith in God's promises.

A lack of faith is far more dangerous then dates that only the God knows.

Faith vs Accurate Knowledge

I agree their is a legalistic veiw of knowledge and their is a personal view of knowledge in the sence of knowing someone personally as a friend.

The society focused all emphasis on "accurate knowledge", thus, implying that a legalistic knowledge of God is what is required.

Again this make much sence, in that, most not all Witnesses have no spiritual personal relationship with God it is a so called accurate knowledge through GB.

That accurate knowledge makes them inactive to serving God once leaving the group. The group was the driving force behind their service to God, not love of God or the Spirit of God. As clearly stated in the bible those building their house upon sandy soil the crash would be great so great for some they find it impossible to believe their is a God.

Other had a personal relationship with God and His Holy Spirit their service goes on their love for God grows... thus, they love the freedom!

And this was the point of this post.

However, there has never been a major destruction in recorded bible history involving God’s people that show someone surviving the catechism without having a relationship with God or acting out of faith in God spokesperson.

If chorologist take the dates of the bible as life and death matter then certainly they would take the rest of the bible which states without ambiguity Christ is the now days spokesperson of God. In fact, all the prophets, prophecies and scriptures were fulfilled in him and him alone.

Self-preservation chronologist believe they are the ones that have special insight into dates of the bible, thus, they become God’s spokesperson informing and providing away for salvation through the dates revealed to them. Subsequently, speaking for God as a modern day prophet.

Unfortunately disregarding the greater weight and works of the scriptures. Thus, 99% of the New Testament deals with our relationship with God not biblical chronology and the bases for our salvation, which is our relationship with God through Christ.

Christian are to present themselves to God not by chronology but rather in spiritual holiness: “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. Then with a tremendous crash the heaven will put away; the burning elements will pass away; the burning element will be dissolved; the earth too and the works in it shall be burned up.

No matter what your interpretation of these verses are (literal or symbolic) one point stands alone in these verses there is no place to hid (if you believe the bible) for personal preservation or personal salvation. Thus, should follow the actions a Christian should take for salvation:

“Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, how consecrated and reverent your behavior should be.”

The bible repeats itself time and again that a relationship with God comes through Christ and that is the only means of salvation not once does it state a person can come up with a date and because they figured that date out God is obligated to give salvation.

“For, Christ, too, once died for sinners, the just on behalf of the unjust, so that He might lead us up to God, put to death as He was physically but made alive spiritually. Thus, He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who were disobedient at the time when God’s patience was delaying while Noah was constructing an ark in which a few, in fact eight souls, were brought safely through the water.”

It’s counterpart, “baptism”, saves you nowadays, not by removal of physical filth, but by the earnest seeking of a conscience that is clear in God’s presence, which is due to the resurrection of Jesus Christ who is at God’s right hand: for He went to heaven, and angles, authorities and powers are made subject to Him.

There was no mystical salvation for early Christian they knew where their salvation came from they did not live a fear driven life of personal salvation through scrupulously studying the bible their faith did not rest upon earth in human interpretation of biblical chronology.

“If we accept human testimony, God’s testimony is stronger, and God’s witness is this which He testified regarding His Son; the believer in the Son of God possesses the witness with in himself. He, who disbelieves God, has put no faith in the evidence God has adduced regarding His Son, and this is the evidence; God has granted us eternal life and this life is in His Son.

He who has the Son has that life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have that life”.

Biblical chronologist seeks what Christian have already received in their faith in the Son of God eternal life. Their fear driven life based on losing salvation by not finding the correct biblical dates diverts attention from the Son of God Christ Jesus, which is the fulfillment of all prophecy including the final prophecies regarding the human race salvation.

Moreover, their obsession with biblical dates misleads people to the important truth of salvation and creates fear in many Christian lives which equals lack of faith in God promises of eternal life they have already recieved through Christ Jesus their Savoir.

Satan appeals to pride “ secret knowledge” once unlocked reinforces the mine that the person is special and has been given special knowledge do to their special ness. Once in that position they become self-proclaimed spokesperson for God instead of Christ Jesus.

The bible teaches a person gains salvation not because they are wise or intellectual, but because of God’s love for the human race. Thus, peace comes to those that accept God’s means of salvation. Peace is void of fear it requires trust and resting in God’s promises to His children.

What now?

i stopped going to meeting over a year ago (profile explains why) and have enjoyed doing all the stuff that comes with being a non-witness; ie going out, meeting new people, lying in on a sunday, never having to wear dowdy skirts, etc.

however since coming on the forum and commenting more, i have realised that eventually i will wonder about faith again.

i still have a bible, the nwt, and even though some may say it's not a good version i do find it pleasant to read, and it's what i'm used to.

Life goes no with or without us. Being an ex-JW's influence every aspect of our lives if we were a sincere person wanting to please God. Rather we admit it or not we expect things to fit into our teachings after were out. The term "truth" becomes so embedded into our brains that subconscienciously we think all things of this world has to be judge against our "truth"! If not the opposite is "No truth" and without absolute truth nothing works God cannot exist for us. Then of course the next logical step is "trust nothing or no one"

And that does work eitther because we as humans want those that know us and love us to trust us right?

And as you know our truth closes doors - shut them - slamed doors - and we shut down because we have been forced out of our comfort zone. And indeed it is uncomfortable accept something that isn't truth - it becomes a moral comprise.

We have a number of choices for the first time here are a few: 1.) the org decieved me so God does not exits 2.) the org has decieved me so God has decieved us 3.) If God isn't the way the org taught then I must find another group that closer but more opened minded 4.) I can't find anywhere to go because the groups teaches things I don't agree with that I believe to be false. 5.) trust God to do what is right believes He loves us and will never lie to us.

When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Are you ready yet - if the teacher has not appeared then you have answered your one question.

When you tell an ex-JW's that Christ has become our justification they have no idea what that means. They can find a bibical answer but it not real to them. Rules and laws doctrines for the most part are for us to justifiy our faith. To say this is what I hold to and because I hold to this teaching or doctrine I will get life from God.

Can you find one scripture that teaches if you obey this teaching God will give you life! And that is why there are so many religions and so many different ways to worship God and why there is so much confusion.

Have you ever thought all things are from God? The bible says salvation is a gift. That God's Spirit is a gift. Justification is a Gift.

The early Christain knew that everything they had recieved was from God. Those were not just good words they had received God Spirit and they were born again - from their faith, to their good works in them, God had given it to them through the Holy Spirit. They could not boast in anything; they were a new creation made not with human hands but God's hands.

If God is hope and they recieved the Holy Spirit then they would also have hope. If God is Love and they recieved the Holy Spirit they had love. Nothing would be forced of thier own will or by their words, doctrine, or teachings. All things were a gifts from God to them. Nothing could force God to give good gifts.

Early Christian did not set around wringing their hands over false doctrine, yes they warned of it, but they had faith in God - why? Because God had given them faith through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. (see the apostle before and after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit) Their lives from that time forward was about letting go of all things that hinders the freedom of the Holy Spirit.

God doesn't care about all these different faiths He see the good acts faith produces. All these in different faiths are justified not by their doctrines, but Christ Jesus, and no one on earth can determines who receives that gift

God does not live in fear that one of His children will be mislead - it not posible if they have God's Spirit He teaches them and correct things not doctinal but in acts of love through ones faith. What condemns a Christain is their own belief system. God has given them justification in His Son there is no condenmation in Christ. There is no more clean and unclean things. There is no relgious confusion with God He is Love and faith produces acts of love. Fear cannot exist with love. Some people hardly read the bilbe but their faith produce great love for others. Some people read the bible daily and produce no faith out of love for others.

The laws and rules of religion are for those that do not have God's Spirit. The Word of God is for those that have received the Holy Spirit, that Word of God is Chirst He is living a living testimony not restricted by human org. If a person wants to assoicate with any group if his/her conscience does not condemn them it is an act of faith to honor God and God will bless them through faith.
