Its just a matter of time before all comes crashing down, and those of us in the know like you Dark Angle need to be there to help those we love that will be in total shock at what is going to happen. It is amazing that many of the shunned ones will be their to help those friends and family that shunned them.

Thanks for that info, I have found the UFO belief more realalistic than most religions. I remember back in the early 70's their was the Dutch guy Eric Van Dinikin something like that, he wrote a book Chariots of the Gods, very interesting and although some of the pictures looked touched up it was still quiet believable, how did the pyramids get built? and the similarities with the peruvian Inca's and the egyptian dieties and zigerates. the landing field in Peru and the many other rock drawings found around the world depicting astronauts (ancient).
The someone bought out a book called Crash Goes the Gods, arguing against every thing Dinikin did, question was afterall "Was God an Astronaut"
Eric went to jail for fraud. But the film and book was very believable.

It was scary at first to realize that no one had all the answers and I had to start all over trying to figure out what was the real "truth".
This is true for me also. But the biggest problem I have anger, I'm angry that for years we the b/s were made out to be these bad people in need of constant reasurrance of God's forgivness and better if we put in as many hours in field service as possible. We are so bad, and when I look at what the GB has done I feel like smashing their hypocritical heads of.
And I feel for all those I love family and friends in the org, and I wish I could help them, thats the only reason I'm around because of them.

I think both, I have found the amount of mental illness amongst JW r/f staggering. I have also noticed that they mention bi/polar a lot. But there are other mental illnesses that the society does not address, like BPD which is apparently common.
What ever, as the days get long the WTS is becoming more cultish and mind controling of course this is going to effect peoples emotional health and anxiety levels rise at he shackles get tighter. I wouldn't be surprised to see a mass exodus within the next few years.

Is the "marking" policy of the Society defunct or still officially used?
by yaddayadda inin my over 30 years as a jw, i honestly can't recall ever hearing about anyone who was being officially "marked" pursuant to the society's "marking" policy based on 2 thess 3:14. .
in fact, i havn't read anything about their strange "marking" policy in years.
this makes me wonder if the society still has confidence in it and still officially endorses it?

PO wants me to ring him and has even told two friends of mine that if they hear anything from me they are to tell him straight away. He wants to know the details of my life, and he can forget it. But that's why I'm wondering if I have been marked, otherwise why are they shunning me?????
People gossip, and the elders want to know you're business, while you are not going to the meetings it is none of their buisness who or what you do, tell them to mind their own buisness.
As far as the shunning goes, I would front them, wave and walk right up to them say hi how's it going, be in their face, if they ignore you just ask them on what grounds are they shunning you. Blow them, the biggest issue in the congregations as far as I am concerned is people being busy bodies, judemental and down right self righteous, or just tell them to take a hike.

my father, who brings me my magazines and kms, has informed me that i have parts on the tms and service meeting coming up soon.

They really hate letting brothers go especially MS as they help the elders lighten their load. I would not show up, if you don't want to do the assignments don't, they have no right to make anyone give talks. The sooner the TMS is halved or even scrapped in place of just bible reading the better, its ridiculous.

Request - May 1974 Kingdom Ministry (1975 selling homes etc)
by AlphaOmega indoes anyone "out there" have a good scan of the may 1974 kingdom ministry - it is it often quoted for it's boldness about encouraging people to sell their homes.... .
reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of then-days in this old system in the pioneer service certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's .
i would be really grateful if anyone can dig it out.. .

Had a relative that sold home, quit job and went into the full time pioneer him and his wife, they had three kids still at school, now they have no money for retirment, the kids have no real education and make a living cleaning and working odd jobs. They believed in the hype of the day that the WTS was saying, preach and preach, the end is nigh.

right now he is still using a training device called the litter kwitter and is starting to master the act of hopping up on the toilet to use it!
