Did God really warn mankind before the Flood of Noah?

jw's think they are doing a work just like noah did before the flood.

they say that noah's witness lasted for 40 years.

other than a few traders who moved around, i doubt that most tribal people would be able to safely travel to see noah's work in progress.

I've been told by my pioneer gilead graduate uncle that Noah didn't have to do any preaching work. He says Jehovah "saw that the whole earth was wicked except for him" so there was no necessity to preach.

Yes well Noah did preach the coming deluge, those that wanted to repent could have, besides Noah preached the end of that world of that time, and Jehovah always gives warning before he acts. So Noah did preach and warned of the flood, but they all scoffed and laughed at him, then the flood came the door to the ark of salvation was closed and it was to late.

Jesus said..just like the days of Noah they took no note, and they died. (Mat 24:37-39)

Either you believe what the bible says or you don't.

The End of Circuit Overseers

is indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.

not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.

reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..

They want to get rid of the old school CO's and replace them with local young trained in the elder and ministerial cold line corporal system.

They want young Sergent's and corporals. More control and indoctrination into the organization, rather than scriptures. I have noticed over the past few years nearly all WT studies mention the FDS and its position of authority.

The bottom line is its about control, with control the money comes, without that it goes. The WTS is going toward a more corporal organization, with a body of corporates running it like a business but with free labor.

Its all about control, especially of the young born in the truths, they are the new blood, the elders will become younger, and the young men will love the superiority, after all its a religion to most born in the truth, and these are the ones getting baptized in the western worlds.

A God I can believe in

i sometimes feel this spiritual void inside, like i'm standing at the edge of an abyss, and it's so much that i can hardly take it.

the odd thing about it is that i always feel it when i'm starting to get close to a lady, close enough to where those deep feelings start to arise - where a momentary look into her eyes feels like a thousand years of life experience and the ephemeral nature of life becomes most painfully plain.

i think that i need to believe in god, somehow, someway, if i'm gonna get through life without going nuts and/or doing myself harm.

i wanted to say thank you to the wbts for enforcing a 'no-contact' rule on all those that have left the organization.. only by experiencing first-hand my former best-friends treating me like a complete stranger (see 'garbage') for standing up for my own beliefs was i finally able to tell the society 'good-bye' forever and not feel guilty about it.. i know this was not the wbts's intention from the alienation practice.

it's intention was to make me feel guilty and lonely enough to come back to them.

however, it has backfired on them and finally given me my freedom.. thank you, society, for lacking kindness and understanding.

Those you grew up with and loved and who loved you like a son or brother will ignore you. The talk will be only about 5 minutes about the deceased - the rest is all preaching. Glad to meet you all! Even the 'witnesses' who hide behind screen names ...lol (:

Oh and so this is the first time you have come onto this forum, you had a problem then left and came straight here, lovely.

You know its always the attitude, you were probably drifting of anyways, and then something happened and whammo you have the excuse to go, and blame whatever but yourself. Why don't you just admit you wanted to go and this was the excuse and you have blown it up and they are completely wrong and you are 100% right. I have never seen a religious group as large as JW that get along in peace, shore they have personality clashes and others are not as loving as they should be. But go to a convention and see them all together in unity, all the different nationalities, clean and obedient and united.

that speaks volumes to me.

In case it is not clear, I want to clarify that this is not my attitude at all. Although others have mentioned my education, I wish not to emphasize it and would rather have the evidence presented be the topic of discussion. I wish it not devolve into an "argument from authority," as I am no better authority than many others more learned than me. Although some may have their own inclinations, any amateur with a good background in critical thinking can delve quite deeply into the literature with some study and experience. And as I've said before in the past, although I have university education in classics (Greek and Latin), history, and in linguistics, biblical criticism is for me is largely self-taught.

OK I apologise for being offensive. But with all your knowledge, did you bring to the plate a completely unbias meal.

There is a congregation in China that are all women and the women are the ministerial servants. Only if their are no men, women can't teach men, which is what the Jews wanted and they kept it, don't see why it should be like that today.

Yes fresia, Leolaia has a doctorate---a PhD, which is probably why you can't comprehend what she's saying. Or perhaps because she uses words that are more than two syllabus or doesn't use pictures, that it's beyond your grasp to understand that she's proven the WT's bizarre theory about "this generation" and "parousia" is based on sand.
In true Witness fashion, when you have no rebuttal for the evidence presented, you instead try to attack her credibility insinuating that she's done a copy and paste from somewhere else. Keep sticking your head in the sand fresia----you're looking as foolish as "scholar" and that's no easy feat.

I love it when you skite how intelligent you are, and you sit on your throne and look down on those that don't have a PhD or a better education. But you know that really doesn't give you a ticket in truth now does it.

No one learns morals, at uni, college or any other institution. But in all honest I will tell you, I do have my misgivings about the WTS and the GB. But what I can't get past and let go is the b/s all the decent qualities that they have, and as a group they do try and live Christian life's based on the principles of Christs teaching. And thats no to say no one here doesn't. My point is that I look at the fruitage, and indeed JW do display what Jesus said was the identifying mark of a true Christian.

I guess Jehovah sees the big picture, and in the meantime I wait and hope for my answer.
