Someone on the writing staff would sure benefit from higher education, especially the practice and method of doing research before jabbering away meaninglessly on a keyboard.

Opening the bible at random - once spoken of approvingly, now superstitious!
by cedars inthe latest december 15th study edition of the watchtower opens with an intriguing article entitled "beware of superstitious use of the bible".. as an example of what constitutes "superstitious use" of the bible, it has this to say.... .
"perhaps a more common misuse of the bible is the practice of bibliomancy.
it refers to opening at random a book, often the bible, and reading the text that first meets the eye in the belief that those words will provide needed guidance.

12/15/12 Watchower Study Edition - Higher Eduction = Thinking in a "complicated" manner
by yourmomma ini found this quote from the 12/15/12 p.29 study edition of the watchtower to be hilarious:.
"a college graduate in the united states.
says: i spent 18 years speaking and writing.

It's clearly a made up story. The tell is the line about the " abstract language of higher education". There is nothing inherent in higher education that is abstract, nor is that a term used in higher education. An "abstract" is a summary of an article, book, course or some other teaching instrument. Someone who lacks any higher education might think it is abstract, because they do not have any concrete experience obtaining that education. Consider this article another Watchtower fail.

Watchtower Dishonesty
by Vanderhoven7 injust re-discovered this gem:.
"it is a matter of fact that the history of the watchtower society is riddled with failed date-setting and abandoned doctrine,1 and the society has gone to great lengths to hide this past from its members.
older (incriminating) watchtower publications are virtually impossible to obtain through the society,2 while at the same time members are overwhelmed with "current" watchtower material.. the watchtower society has even gone as far as to publish disinformation about its own history in an attempt to convince readers that watchtower doctrine has remained consistent over the years, and that the society is not a false prophet.

The deal is, that the Watchtower really does publish spiritual food that comes from their god. So my question is this, who is the father of lies?

In this arid SoCal location, the sound of rain is welcome, as it is the sound of a parched land quenching its thirst.
The smell is a treat as well.

Bible Jesus is a metaphorical construct who is always available invisibly to believers, with nothing special about 1914.
Watchtower Jesus is another matter. He showed up invisibly in 1874, raptured some dead people and then went away on an unknown matter, perhaps to attend to the salvation of the inhabitants of Pollux IV. He returned invisibly in 1914 and invisibly toppled all the worlds governments and clergy over the next few years. He also invisibly selected the cross bearing Christmas celebrating people of the Watchtower as his true religion, and was so sneaky that they did not know about this deed for over a decade after it happened. However, some of them were clever enough to see him and insisted that he submit to a shave and a haircut while he was visiting, so that he might be acceptable in a theocratic way.
