i have a question for the author of the website jwfacts.
as i was reading the sparlock article, i couldn't help but notice something seriously wrong:.
"the bible abounds in vivid fantasy, such as its many celestial descriptions, or the portrayal of warring kingdoms with imaginary beasts.. the sparlock message is confusing, as much for an adult as for a child, as the bible shows that god's followers practice magic, even if they are usually referred to as miracles.
One thing a JW has never explained to me, is if magic and spiritism is so bad and evil then why is it the governing body practices spiritism communicating with the dead and channeling invisible spirit beings? They even boast about being the only ones who are able to do this, and publish it in the Watchtower!

does anyone else think its a bit rude and creepy for people from your way distant past or having only the tenuous of social connection with you to request being your friend on facebook but then totally ignore you, not even say a simple hello?.
this annoys me and i have a policy of deleting them after a month if they don't make communicative contact because by not even sending a message to say "hi, how are ya after all these years" they are not being friendly just apparently nosey bastards who wanna see my photos and what i've been up to in my life and then basically ignore me.
ive had this experience with a lot of jw's from my past.
I have done that a few times. I repented.

inside my head is a tangled ball of wool when it comes to what i believe.
i have days where i believe in a creator and other days when i don't.
then there are times when i refer to this as believing in 'something' but what exactly this something is, i have no idea.

That is a magnitude of hubris that would never be found in humble people.

it seems that there are a lot of us that feel that we had a lot more freedom before armageddon.
world society is not my idea of a paradise at all, and i really think i would rather be dead then to live like this.

i just read a thread concerning romney's comments that anyone who receives a government entitlement is a loser.
not very wise to say.. i am curious whether the threads here, where people tell each other off and have no hard facts, are typical of other countries.
a substantial prize should await any poster who convinces the other side that they are wrong.
The irony of American politics is that there is a lot of pretending, among the voters, the media, and the debates. I keep hearing about Romney this, Obama that, back and forth, the name calling, accusations and gloating. But you never hear about Jill Stein. She is running for president, but she does not support endless wars, corporate welfare, drug prohibition and domestic police state, so nearly everyone pretends she does not exist.
You are so right, Shamus. This land is inhabited by strange people indeed. And they vote.
