If a non-JW receives a pamphlet from a JW, then tosses it in the trash bin after reading it, he has rejected "The Truth" and will be destroyed at Armageddon.
by Calebs Airplane inhow many here have heard such utter stupidity??.
several years ago, during field circus, i was covering a seldom-worked territory which was a community of mostly busy working class people who usually sprung out of their homes every saturday morning to do grocery shopping, run errands, etc.. only a few would start their saturday morning doing yard work washing their cars, walking their dogs, etc.. but we would frequently catch most of the house-holders on the way out, getting into their cars.. so, needless to say, the use of pamphlets was prevalent in that territory.. on that saturday morning, i mentioned to the elder who had been paired up with me that most of these people are so busy that they probably just toss these pamphlets in the trash without ever reading them.. his response to this was something like: "well i hope they're not doing that.
that would not be a good idea.".

This view creates a problem.
Given the poorly written and researched literature is so bombastic and full of illogical assertions and is self contradictory, most sane people would toss it out after a brief examination. Then the blood guilt would have to go back to the writers of this rubbish, with a certain percentage to those who willfully distribute it.
Really, it is the householders who accept the literature and do the head bobble thing who are damned.

Oregonians can be strange without realizing it. They had their very own guru from India some 30 years ago who bought up some ranch a couple hundred miles out in the desert from Portland, and people from all over the state were upset that the Bhagwan was "taking over" the state. The guy had rich followers and could have provided a lot of jobs and revenue to the staggering state, but they would not have any part of it.
One of their gripes was to blame Californians for the price of homes in Oregon going up. I told a woman, staring her right in the face, that Oregonians shouldn't charge the Californians such a high price for a home, that if they sold it for the lower price that they think it should be then the problem would not exist. She just stared at me uncomprehendingly as if I had just spoken in Greek or something, and babbled some irrational non answer.

Should i go?
by MsGrowingGirl20 inso, a good friend of mine, a pentecostal christian, invited me to go to a retreat with her church.
we're the same age-19 years.
we were friends before i became a witness and she was always patient and caring with me especially throughout my arrogant spell as a witness.

I find Pentecostals to be much more entertaining than J-dubs, and not as dismal to listen to.
Go enjoy yourself there.
Here's the deal. This is a picture posted on jw.org of a meeting of Jehovah's people.
Got it? Now compare these two and ask yourself which group looks more like Jehovah's people.
Jehovah's Witnesses
Pentecostals

Not offended at all. Age is relative. I like it when I am around some 20 somethings and I play the old fart. I actually learned a lot about a lot of things before they mastered the potty, and it shows in my ability to think and problem solve. Then I get around some 70 something people and I like to play my role of the young cub, looking to them for their superior experience. I find value in both perspectives, and being who I am relative to who I meet. I like the experience and wisdom of learning what not to do that comes only with being around for a while, and I don't have any of the ailments to complain about. One other thing, there are people who are barely 40 and they have such fossilized old minds. I have known other people in their 80s who were adventurous and were always still learning and doing things. Those people are fun to know, no matter what age they are.

Governing Body Views Of School Age Children Are Not Safe Or Healthy!
by ÁrbolesdeArabia incan we keep our school age kids safe with the sayings of the governing body?.
children according to the governing body should attend school and use it to push magazines during their lunch and break periods.
nobody deserves to sit down after listening to four hours of lectures and taking a test or two (perhaps maybe the elders at the kingdom school do, when they eat the catered meal by the spanish sisters who spent all night "working for jehovah's prophets:), yeah only the governing body and their henchman deserve to attend school without pressure to spend their break periods walking around preaching to a stone if necessary.

They do it because they can, and people let them.

Hehehehe....radio station.
You children have it easy these days. I did mine some 20 odd years ago, with mixer board, cassette tapes and shortwave transmitter. But that will remain an untold story for now, in the archives of Uncle Kurt.
Carry on.

Old People Should Hurry Up and Die - says the New Japanese Finance Minister
by fulltimestudent inthe newish japanese government is conservative in bent, and its finance minister recently raised eyebrows with the above statement.
japan, as you may know, is a rapidly aging society as the long falling birthrate bites into the demographics.. here's how the english guardian reports this tale:.
let elderly people 'hurry up and die', says japanese ministertaro aso says he would refuse end-of-life care and would 'feel bad' knowing treatment was paid for by government.

There is something about their religion that makes them tend to stand around and be dumbstruck unless some guy in a bad suit and higher rank is telling them in minute detail what they must do. Cut them some slack.

Okay, I did it. I was sincere enough, but hope I didn't go over the top with it.
My mom departed over 14 years ago, with faith as a Christian, and my aunt departed 2 months ago, also with Christian faith. For both of them it gave them comfort, so what I wrote was genuine in that context.
