If he is going through the Bible Teach book then it is perfect. Pick out the bait and switch items in there, like baptism, and ask him what he thinks of that teaching. Then show him the switched teaching and ask him why would they have the first teaching, but the second one is different after he gets baptized. Let him ponder those questions.

Consider the most prominent conspiracy theorist. She has done really well in mainstream politics, securing a Senate seat and a cabinet position, with serious consideration of the presidency.

Unless you live in an area that never has earthquakes, floods, fires, unemployment, recession, cyclones, blizzards, ice storms, transportation breakdown, strife, war or natural disasters, then preparedness is a good idea.
It is a good idea for the Watchtower to bathe their members in this new light that has been available in the front pages of telephone books for the last 30 years and on countless public service announcements for decades. There is no downside to publishing that, and a great upside when someone needs those supplies during a disaster, and then they can be a poster child at conventions and in Watchtower articles about how Jehovah's organization provided that life saving information in a timely manner.

How ironic that the Watchtower would say this as part of the oath of baptism:
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization? Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism.
But in the Bible Teach book that they have prospective recruits study, they tell them just the opposite.
24 However, baptism is not a mere bath. It is a symbol of something very important. Going beneath the water symbolizes that you have died to your former life course. Being raised up out of the water indicates that you are now alive to do the will of God. Remember, too, that you have made a dedication to Jehovah God himself, not to a work, a cause, other humans, or an organization. Your dedication and baptism are the beginning of a very close friendship with God—an intimate relationship with him.—Psalm 25:14.
Both of those statements can not be true. A recruit is told one thing, and later on after baptism they are told something that makes the first claim untrue.
The Watchtower is a lying bait and switch organization!

There is still a huge amount of racism and prejudice in this world and it is sickening. It disgusts me, not because I am a Jehovah’s Witness, but because I am human. People seem to find nothing better than to highlight the negatives of everything. All the news is just propaganda; newspapers don’t sell when they write about happiness and success. Failure, murderers, extremists, death, devastation among other negative things sells. Things that scare people and about other people. This only leads to more prejudice and discrimination. People are so narrow minded that they believe whatever they read and whatever they hear.
This was just too much for me. It was written by someone who either has no familiarity with Watchtower teachings, or is a dishonestly corrupt liar.
Newspapers are full of all sorts of sports, entertainment, lifestyle, business and political news, plus there is also a measure of crime and slime. Now if you open up a copy of some Watchtower publication, you will get a huge dose of fear, murder, violence, devastation and other negative things. If you converse with them, they will have fearful depressing views about current events. They especially are keen on slandering and negative comments about people who have different beliefs than they do.
If I wanted to take the time to respond to this cat, it would be with a series of negative hateful fearful quotes from recent Watchtower publications, and I would agree with his denouncement of such negativity.
Cedars, I appreciate your sense of frustration with such humanoid bricks.
