I would perhaps forgive people for unthinking stuff, and would like to be forgiven likewise. There would be no point in dispensing advice for the future, so I would get busy immersing with the now, preferably in Africa with LouBelle, enjoying the bush and beach up until the very end.

See, that's the irony of the Watchtower. They tell you the truth about who they are and what they are doing much more than you give them credit for, but you must parse their stilted language and weasel words to see what they are saying. They don't promise you life in paradise if you obey them. They offer you aprospect of life in paradise. Big difference. When you go to the casino you have a prospect of winning the jackpot.
A great teacher will guide you through a course of study, and offer you opportunities to advance. The goal is for you to master the course, demonstrate your mastery by producing a paper or passing a test, and then you graduate or get passed out of the course. If you had a teacher who kept you coming back for more instruction for decades without you building enough mastery to graduate their course, a rational observer would conclude that your teacher was a con artist who was creating dependency in you to need them. So I wonder, is there any provision to graduate from Awake University? Or is it all a con?

I went to church on Sunday, and the world did not come to an end.
by LisaRose inback story, i left the jws 13 years ago, just walked away, moved to another state, and married a guy i had gone to high school with 28 years previously.
at first i was just happy to be away from the dubs and the thought of any organized religion just made me sick, and as most of you know, the dubs do a good job of tearing down other religions, so my thinking was still influenced by the wtbts in some areas.
i considered myself agnostic for a long time.. i occasionally visited my husband's parents church when we were visiting.

We were warmly welcomed, afterwords they had coffee and food. They are involved in the community. The week before they took peanut butter and jelly sandwitches to the local day laborers. Their motto is wherever you are from or where ever you are on your life's path, you are welcome here. I felt spiritually refreshed for the first time in years.
Hmmmm, sounds suspiciously Christ like. You sure you want you get involved with something like that?

wts had three pompous ass charismatic leaders whom everyone hated to watch rant and emote.. captain kirk was always saving his people from new disasters.. wt leaders are always leading its people into new disasters.. star trek made money by always giving its fans the stuff they wanted.. wts makes money by always charging its fans for stuff neither they nor anyone else else wants.. people had fun when star trek came on.. people would rather have a root canal when meetings come on.. star trek was all about making the cosmos a better place for all.. wts is all about making the cosmos a better place for a few and killing everyone else.. people love to go to star trek conventions.. people would rather be in an earthquake than go to wts conventions.. star trek had a transporter room.. people in meetings wish they also had a transporter room.. star trek had lots of insane villains.. wts had judge rutherford and fred franz.
same thing.. star trek also had lots of good guys.. good guys are banished from the wts.. star trek had the klingons who spoke a bizarre language.. wts had fred franz who spoke an even more bizarre language.. star trek had all sorts of devices which could cure most any medical problems, but of course, they were science fiction.. wts had the electronic radio biola which it sold and said could cure most any medical problem, but of course, that was science fiction.. star trek had floppy disks, computers you could talk to and flat screen monitors all of which were about 50 years ahead-of-their time.. wts had vaccines which were called "filthy animal pus", humans hearts which were the seat of all emotions, organ transplants which were cannibalistic, human personalities which were also transferred with blood transfusions and black people turning white by reading their literature, all of which were 100 years behihd-their-time.. if you missed a few star trek episodes in a row, no one came by to harrass you.. if you miss a few meetings in a row, you are in deep shit.. star trek tv shows and movies are still played all the time, even after 47 years.. wts dramas never even play a second time.

If the Watchtower is being truthful when they say they have no clergy-laity distinction, then you have every right to read the Flocked book that they do. If they can read the book, but say you have no right to, then they are giving lie to the Watchtower claim of having no clergy-laity distinction
This was a minor point to them, but a very important point when it comes to the credibility of the organization.
So if they flock you, will we be hearing the recording?
