Watchtower teachings

a while ago i did a thread about the nephillim and was wondering whether the fallen angels were physical beings.. some here mentioned the watchtower reasoning about how the fallen angels who had children with the women [ in genesis 6] took on human bodies then discarded them when god sent the flood over the earth.. i thought about this and looked at the scriptures and realised that there is no scripture to back the watchtowers reasoning up on " the sons of god" taking fleshly bodies.then discarding them in the flood.this shows how the tower has an "answer for everything" mentally.. is there any other beliefs that the watchtower has gotten us to believe in which cant be backed up by scripture?.

while i was studying i was intrested to know what happened to enoch.in genesis 5:24- and enoch walked with god and he was not for god took him.i was told that god put enoch to sleep to spare him from the wicked around him that would have killed him.although there is no evidence either in the scriptures for this.it just shows how the watchtower interprets things for themselves..

After reading a lot of WT literature is is possible to deconstruct how it is produced.

The GB figures out some concern they want addressed, so they have the writers produce an article that molds the thoughts of believers to conform to what the GB and other PTB want.

In the second phase of writing, references to scripture are sprinkled throughout the article to give it an air of spiritual legitimacy. Most of this is a stretch, as the scriptures rarely support the point being made.

Lawyers mark up the text with weasel words and ambiguous language. This makes it possible to later say that "we didn't say that" or "certain members, in their zeal thought that we said" while also providing cover for possible legal action against them.

An off the books messaging system is in place to ensure that members are told what is really meant by the literature while leaving as little paper trail as possible.

The underground tunnels at Bethel...

with all the real estate property going up for sale in brooklyn, it got me thinking about the underground tunnels under some of the properties.

i remember going through these tunnels on the many times i visited my friends there.

i don't however, remember which building those tunnels were under.

They need those underground tunnels. They are an ideal place for performing secret rituals and channelling those invisible spirits that give them "new light".

Aren't we all responsible for the success of the Watchtower Society?

raymond franz was a member of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses from 1971 until may 22, 1980, and served at the organization's world headquarters for fifteen years, from 1965 until 1980. franz wrote and edited two detailed books which relate his personal experiences with the watch tower bible and tract society and fellow members of the jehovah's witness organization.. .

after reading ray franz's books,i held him and his fellow members responsible for all the false teachings.

i also wasn't forgiving any of them even if they found out that it wasn't the ''truth'' and left the organization.now i changed my mind.

I have no culpability on this one, having never set foot in a KH nor given any money to the org.

What I have done is talk to every JW who showed up at the door, asked some pointed questions, and spent a lot of time talking with them. This was time that they might have used convincing other people that their strange theology makes any sense, so I was using up time that kept someone else from being sucked in to the organization.

So I have cost the WT time and resources, and in return they do not have a convert slaving away for them. Sounds like a good deal, huh?

...things keep coming to me about why the wbts teaches certain things and it all becomes clear when you see it for what it is - a cult.. for instance, why do they counsel so strongly against hypnotism?

is it really because they suspect demonism is involved or more likely that it may disrupt all that careful programming and mind control of theirs?

what things have suddenly become clear to you?.

what is the official JW view on bible students?

while visiting some bible students sites, i wondered what the official jw view on these organizations is.

are they part of babylon the great simply because of refuting the post-1916 developments and the governing body?

as far as i know, they do not adhere to any of the false teachings jw like to refer to in debunking the rcc and traditional protestantism, such as hellfire, trinity, immortal soul.

In the Proclaimers book and elsewhere, the WT invert reality and insist that the Bible Students rebelled and went apostate against Jehovah's organization.

A little research turns up that the Bible Students have plodded along with Russell's teachings fairly intact. They did not want anything to do with where Rutherford took the Watchtower down apostate lane, for which Rutherford roundly ranted and denounced them.

I have talked to some and have a copy of Divine Plan and other literature I got from them. I showed my study conductor the chart with the pyramid and how the 1914 doctrine was derived from it. I insisted that it was what the FDS taught us so it must be channeled from those spirits and must be true.

my first post was a few days ago now, and finally my heart has stopped pounding whenever i log on.. :-).

so, i have been in the truth all my life, 3rd generation witness, never left, never been in trouble, pioneered for years, and am a respected member of my congregation.

You have shown some good reasoning on the matter of blood, and there are many resources at hand to look into it further.

From what I have seen, the WT has painted itself into a corner on this one and has bloodguilt. If the current teaching is wrong then they carry bloodguilt for every victim who died or suffered because of their teaching.

If their current position is correct then they carry bloodguilt for the decades they let people think blood transfusions were okay, and even encouraged them to engage in a practice leading to their eternal destruction.

During a recent study, I pulled this up on the computer and insisted the study conductor look into this boy's face and tell me why the Watchtower boasts about how they convince people to obey them unto death.

Where to start?

I will keep it simple. The original version Truth 1.0 had the harvest beginning in 1874 and the conclusion of the system of things in 1914 with all those devil weeds getting burned up then.

I have been participating in such a free "Bible" study for about 18 months. One time, just to see if I could do it, I avoided even picking up a Bible during the study, and only briefly looked at WT life saving literature.

I have learned a lot about the Bible from these studies, since I always look up anything that the WT asserts to see if there is any support for their teaching. This leads to me asking more questions of the study conductor, so he has learned a lot about the Bible as well, such as what Jesus thinks about lawyers and people who harm children.

The WT is correct about murder, fornication and theft are frowned upon in the Bible, but most of the teaching that they boast about themselves being such wonderful distributors of food is nonsensical ramblings.
