according to the article there are 5 white house petitions to either label the westboro baptist church a hate group, ban organizations from holding demonstrating near funerals, and revoking the westboro church's tax-exempt status.

Being a hate group in America has no legal meaning. Hate is an emotion and you can not legislate against feelings. So far, you have to actually break a law or appear to be planning to break a law before the authories take action. Hate groups are best ignored so they don't get power from inspiring fear. Better yet, mock them and laugh at them.

i have trouble understanding why people mock scholarship.

if i mention it frequently, it is precisely b/c as a witness, i had no access to it.

when i was told someone by a brother, there was no way to evaluate it.

They tried, and the Trinity brochure is one of their masterpieces from the effort.

Interestingly the churches of "Christendom" do far more in helping those in financial need. They usually have funds set up to help those that fall on hard times. They will pay for electric bills, hospital bills, etc...

I wonder why Jehovah's organization couldn't care less, while Christendom does...

Perhaps this explains why.

Advertising the REAL Jehovah's Witnesses when I can...

today, my wife went to labcorp to take a pre-employment drug screening.

she doesnt have a driver's license, so i took her.. in the waiting room, with the magazines were a copy of atalaya (watchtower) and despertad (awake).

it'd be nice to think they were left by a jw who decided then and there that she'd had enough of the lies, but from what i gathered on jwn, it was probably a lazy publisher counting it as perpetual service hours.. anyway, on the back of both, i left the message "for more information about jehovah's witnesses please google candace conti.".

I'm doing the good work in Texas for now. Truth is my business and business is BOOMING. There are like 8 Kingdom Halls within ten miles of my house.

I'll be moving to central Connecticut in March and working in Brooklyn, NY so the fight will be much more fun.

I have not had much to do with the world of scholarship, but I am sure grateful for those who do. They do a lot of the heavy lifting to develop a systematic body of knowledge about a topic so that if it is something I am interested in I can get a lot of valuable knowledge that is concentrated in a reasonable package.

If I want to do some currency trading, I need to know the principals of how it is done and the results of certain conditions. Some well selected business and investment journals can give me an overview of what I am looking for, and they usually point me to a few valuable books on the topic. That is usually enough to get a decent working knowledge of what I am doing without wading through reams of barely related articles and stories.
