Another buzz word a few have noticed as well is they are saying "wicked" less and "ungodly" more.

Small but noticeable.

this just fascinates me.
Can you imagine the conversations that take place in the writing dept? The reviews of the articles to word everything just so, like lawyers typing out fine print. Every word is scrutinized and regurgitated until it can be spun in whatever direction the WTS wants. They know that if they come out and say something they are liable, but if they use the right words with a little spin, the WT conductor and elders will make those statements and if they ever need to change the "understanding" later they can just say "we never said that, you read into it!" (first time i ever used this emoiticon)

It is now, "elements within the UN" that will attack. That statement helps them to justify that the UN "ain't so bad afterall" so we go to the Library there attitude.

There's no equivocating on this point. John's perspective in the vision is on the other side of tribulation. He did not see a group of people hoping to survive. He saw a group of people that already had survived.
The clock starts ticking as soon as the latter group is identified. The great tribulation must occur in their lifetime, else they have been misidentified.

good point, I will have to look into this further..........

anyone who was at a meeting after the annual meeting was given a review about what was said, I actually have a printed copy of a brothers notes who attended. There were many new points at that meeting. The most obvious being the change of the generation to the 144k.
There was also a change made to the leaven. I recall the dragnet illustration as well.

These arent all in official print yet, but they are coming.

Think about it, what other date could the WTS possibly come up with?? The only way to not look like blatant back-peddlers was to leave 1935 as a "notable date" (the influx of the GC) and then just remove a connection to it with Armagedon. No connection to 1914 (but still important) no connection to 1935 (but still an important date) so now we just wait.
The WTS can still throw around 1914 and 1935 and sound as if they had it right all along, as usual the R&F wont even notice. "hey, the bible has never changed" they will say.

For the WTS to add a new date would mean the chronology was in error and not just the interpretation of it. Sound familiar (Russell) To admit an error in chronology would leave all other chronology up for debate and the last thing the WTS wants anyone to question is 607BCE.

Havent you all noticed that not an artilce seems to go by without reinforcing the 607 date? IE: we always get our dates right so dont ever question them, but sometimes we dont quite understand what is/was to happen until after it happens.

oops, well i had intended to post a message along with this new topic and my fingers were faster than my brain (need more coffee .

well, i suppose it's like preaching to the converted; me obtaining this book, but i guess it's one of those things i just needed to do to finalize everything.. i know there are countless topics on ray franz' book.

but to finally pick it up, i feel like: 'i can hardly wait to read it'.. before, i more or less figured: 'i am out of the wtbts, so why bother?'.

2 special pioneers i knew were at the assembly last year i wanted to know how they were since they have special pioneered for 20 years.

both got sick and have chronic fatigue.

they quit pioneering to rest and get better.

OMG that is sooo true.

After that first article came out about CFS everyone had it!
What they could never admit is that they are depressed and need psychiatric help, NO! They have CFS! The only people I have ever know to have it have all been JW's.

i had a couple of dubbers visit since my move to hot springs.

one was an older man who was very nice and did not want to talk, he just wanted to ask how much for property in my area and how much it cost to build my house.

the other was a ydrtc young gungho who thinks he knows a lot more then he does.

a little off topic but I remember a pioneer bro. talking about how a brother commented about how fruit just doesnt taste the same as is used too. That we just dont have good food/fruit anymore (i guess this means "A" is coming) ....
So anyway, he is relating to us about how he was eating an apple at a bus stop and after taking a bite he sighed, and said to the old lady sitting beside him :
"you know you just cant get good fruit anymore",
to his surprise the old lady responded:No i think we can still get good fruit!"Well surprised he said back:
"but dont you think that fruit tasted better years ago, that when you were younger it was more juicey and flavorful?"
She said :
"no I think we can still get good fruit!"

Well this is where I get to the point of my story. He then says:
"So I am wondering why this woman is disagreeing with me, an then I realized... I am talking to a worldly person! And they're stupid!!"

OF COURSE! All JW's are smart because everyone else is an idiot! So there you have it. No matter what you told that Amigo you were an idiot and he was smarterer!

i've been a jw all my life and am thoroughly convinced this is the truth.

but there is one thing that i just don't understand.

many jw's believe that people who get resurrected in the new system will not get married.

1) Moses had Jehovah's backing but sinned against God. Numbers 20:10-12. 2) David had Jehovah's backing and blessing but committed immorality. 1 Samuel 16 11-13, 2 Samuel 11:2-27. 3) Solomon had Jehovah's backing to extent that God made him the wisest and richest man on earth but he too sinned. 1 Kings 3:10-14, 1 Kings 11:1-6. 4) The apostle Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 times even after he was warned that he would but Jesus still gave him the keys to the Kingdom. Matthew 16:13-19. The point is that just because you make a mistake, whether something is done or said wrong, it doesn't mean that you don't have Jehovah's backing. How about that, maybe we can ALL learn something!

And a good thing to do when one sins is to admit that they are mistaken and show humility - something the society never does.

Princess is also right. In each of the cases you sited there was a sinning against Jehovah by his servants. None of these sins however necessitated the application of

(Deuteronomy 18:20-22) 20 "‘However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. 21 And in case you should say in your heart: "How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?" 22 when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him.’

Despite the WTS claims that it does not speak as a prophet it has indeed made this claim in the past and refuses to admit it as a result of this scriptural application. If you would like WT article snippets to prove this I or someone else reading this can post these here.
The WTS continues to profess its "guidance" by Holy Spirit as Jeh.'s only channel of truth. Unfortunately the long history of "mistakes" or "sins" as you pointed out, cannot be the misleading of the Holy Spirit. This is where we are forced to recognize that at least some of the direction of the WTS is not from God but rather of "fleshly reasoning". However, we see that the most critical teachings of the WTS are the ones that conitinually change. If the most central teachings of the WTS are fleshly, than how can one justify the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding it?
Does the Holy Spirit teach "milk"? Of course not, but it would appear that only the "milk" of the "truth" has remained at least partially intact. The meat has been butchered. Nemail, we were all in your position at one time. And all of us here need to remember that too ! Don't take offence, just remember that some people here have been really hurt in the past. Most here are good people, people at one time you may have called your brother/sister/friend. Keep doing what you are doing and applying 1 John 4:1 Still..........

i started this in another thread but i think it deserves its own......... does anyone else notice, that as they see the wt for what it is, the wt articles seem to not actually "teach" anything anymore?

- it just seems to constanly preach over and over to not listen to apostates, not listen to news/internet/documentaries, not listen to anything critical of the org.

just to read the bible and "by extension" bible-based literature.
