Jesus said that during his royal presence, he would identify a faithful body of followers, a "faithful and discreet slave," and would appoint it over all his belongings. (Matthew 24:45-47; Isaiah 43:10) In 1919 that slave was identified as the remnant of anointed Christians. Since then, as represented by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, it has been the center of theocracy on earth.

I realize this, but the point I was making was that the "governing body" seemed to be given the title FDS and the rest of the annointed the "domestics" The WTS has always taught that the FDS is the remnant of the 144,000. The GB are members of the FDS "representing" the FDS as you quoted above.

Perhaps there has not been a change in teaching but I dont ever recall the GB being applied to that scripture as a seperate entity apart from the 144,000. The scripture seems wordy and awkward when the the Master appoints the FDS (the 144k) over other the Domestics/FDS (the 144k)

Am I crazy here? Did anyone else get this from the 2007 DC?

I noticed this term is used much more frequently at assemblies. In fact at this years DC I took particular notice of Matt 25:45. When the bro read it he referred to the "domestics" as fellow FDS members, that is the FDS are the annointed AND the domestics are the annointed.

As if the FDS of Matt 25:45 is the "governing body" and the "domestics" are the rest of the annointed.

Did anyone else get this?????

yes, i have been working on "the fade" since before my baby was born in january and trying to keep as low a profile as i can.

will be moving out of the neighborhood soon and i had hoped to disappear.

so anyways, leaving the dubs has not made me lose my faith in god or christ.

He then said that they have called us "several times" to meet with us, (This is BS, I was called once and said "I am t0o busy this week")and that they have come to my house several times but we are never home

you know, a few years ago my wife had a JC that I sat in on. (I wont go into details here) anyway, my wife was so upset because the elder that headed the JC was a stoic, self righteous snob. The kind that can NEVER give a comment at a meeting without it being counsel for everyone in the KH but him (you all know the type).

So she starts snapping back at him that he has always treated her bad and that they never tried to help us or sheperd us. He then goes on to say that "the elders" have tried several times to help us but we have never taken advantage of it. And I remember thinking "WHAT??? I have been in this hall for 15 years and I have had ONE sheparding call in that time". yes, ONE. (And that was after our PO ran off with another brothers wife and abandoned his pioneer wife of 20+ years, it was an attempt to "feel out" the affects of it on the cong.)

So I guess I am not the only one that has been fed that line??

well all, we know this is a big deal.

i for one will sit there during the discussion of this ariticle wanting to scream yet i will say nothing if i am not prepared, and of course i have to "comment" with an angle that doesnt arouse suspicion.. so here it is folks, we need to put together brief, very well worded comments to use during these meetings.

any takers?

A Witness has to "read between the lines" all the time

all Witnesses know this, especially elders. The WTS is infamous for NOT coming out and saying something outright. This is typical WT writing. All elders, WT Conductors, C/O's, D/O's, etc. all know that you have to read betweent the lines to really get the point. This is so when prophecies fail or doctrine is changed they can say they "never actually said that".

This also creates a need for those R&F that dont understand anything deep to look to the "wisemen" for guidance because they know how to read between the lines and I dont!

I even recently found out in Websters Dictionary that cunnilingus and fellatio are actually proper words for some VERY WORLDLY street talk synonyms. Without even realizing what I was doing, I was soon surfing the internet on all types of Non Watchtower web sites
