Still In, Then GET OUT. Do what you have to do to get out. It's not too late. You still have the rest of your life, and you can have your dignity too, not living a lie.
Thanks Rachel,
I just wish it was that easy..........
i started this in another thread but i think it deserves its own......... does anyone else notice, that as they see the wt for what it is, the wt articles seem to not actually "teach" anything anymore?
- it just seems to constanly preach over and over to not listen to apostates, not listen to news/internet/documentaries, not listen to anything critical of the org.
just to read the bible and "by extension" bible-based literature.

i've been a jw all my life and am thoroughly convinced this is the truth.
but there is one thing that i just don't understand.
many jw's believe that people who get resurrected in the new system will not get married.
My question would then be -- if Jehovah can read hearts and decide whether someone is worthy of death at Armageddon, what would be the purpose of the preaching work being done by the Witnesses now? If people who aren't being preached to can be saved because of a good heart condition, then in reality there's no need to preach to them.
So the fact that the organization keeps the witnessing work going seems to lend credence to the understanding that people who aren't reached with the good news are in mortal danger, and cannot be saved just because of a good heart condition.
Gopher,
very good point................

Mrsjones, if you have a long history in the truth then surely you would know of any changes the society have made. You should also know that the society have never said that we will all be "barbie and kens" so to speak. I'd be interested to know where you got that from.
actually i thought she was just kidding around......

Anyway, the more I found out about the inner workings, the more I realized that God wasn't driving this organization. In the last few years of Bethel, I found the 'weirdness of things' going way off the top of the charts.
I need out so bad......... I dont know how much longer I can keep up the charade anymore. The WTS just pisses me off now. I cant believe that of all these years have gone by - my entire life in this cult.

But there is one thing that I just don't understand. Many JW's believe that people who get resurrected in the New System will not get married. I know through study that the society used to say that but now say it's an "unaswered question". (wt May 15 2005)
Hi Nemail,
I am a JW, (not Ex) I have privileges and give talks, my wife is also a witness. Your question is of interest to me as I have done research on this after I experienced a family tragedy.
As I last understood it the official teaching was that those resurrected would NOT marry, however I, like you did not tend to feel this was something a loving creator would do and that we could see new light on this. I will look up your cited May 15-05 article as I dont recall that understanding changing - if it has then that is a definitely a checkmark for the society as far as i am concerned.
My view is that Adam was given a partner as it was proper for him to continue alone. I dont see why Jehovah would change his mind on that in the New System.
Admitedly I am on this forum as I have questions the same way you do. Dont take anything said here at face value, do your research, use the Watchtower CD, the library, Wikipedia, You Tube, encyclopedia's. If you disagree with something said, voice your opinion - but be prepared to back it up!Welcome to the forum, please PM me at anytime!
Still....
to be recommended for eldership you must first show yourself worthy through works, such as meeting attendance and participation, field service hours and having the "right attitude" (meaning they are organization men).
many ms will become elder's shadows, in hopes to be recommended by them for eldership.
nepotism and bias runs in my congregation.we have 4 elders who are all related.
We have 4 Elders who are all related. The oldest Elder recommended his son and son-in-law for Eldership years ago and all were chosen
wow... sounds like my last cong. PO and son-in-law were elders. Other 2 had been there for 30 years and were all buddies. Then ones elders brother moved in and he became elder. Then one elder studied with an inactive brother - one year later he was an elder.
Then an old bro. elder moved in from the big city and stirred things up a bit. He stayed an elder but they didnt use him or even invite him to Elder meetings. Didnt fit into the click
What a joke it was/is.........
5 days after the big showdown with my mom, she called me today.
well she is a bigger person than me - i certainly did not have the guts to do it.
we made a bit of small talk and then she brought up saturdays discussion.
We need to clarify what "Apostate" means in the Jehovah's Witness religion. It only means that you
are not in harmony with their doctrines. That's it
dont forget that just thinking out of line with WTS teaching makes you an apostate !You dont even have to voice your opinion. If you think the WTS is wrong about something you will die an apostate so dont even think about thinking about questioning the society!
Hey, is mind control what cults do? NAH!!

i saw the news item, and was going to pass it on to dad but he beat me to it....someone had already e-mailed him about it.
his e-mail was from cnn which stated jw's are fastet growing, but also dead last in retaining those raised in that faith....yeah!
75% of JWs couldn't tell you what the theme of the Public Talk was 5 minutes after the Watchtower study.
OMG there is soooo much truth to that... I remember one time I was on the phone with a friend that had missed to CO Visit talk, I said "oh you missed a great talk!" she "what was it about?" - I COULD NOT REMEMBER A THING ABOUT IT!! Not the theme not one word! I didnt even remember that I wasnt listening! LOL
2) Given the anonymity of answering questions over the phone, perhaps a reasonably large number figured "hey the elders will never find out how I personally answer these questions
I never thought about the fact that it is likely only less than zealous JW's would really answer this poll, or at least a higher volume of less active to zealous. Could Warlock be right about the stats not accurately representing the whole?? Hmmmmmmmmm??????

i wish I had the guts to admit my feelings to my wife.... you are definitely a strong person (ie: not a wimp)
I hope you can make this work for you and your family
