about time i formally introduced myself
by karter ini was a j.w for 38 years did'nt do a fade just "checked out and left" that was 7 years ago .. wife still a j.w so still have the elders ask why?.
i started to explain to one he went into lock down mode so why bother.. i'll defend the j.ws to the end for things i fell are right but wont stand idly by and say nothing when i know what they are saying is wrong.. that's got me into a lot of trouble.. karter.

i see most of all of you speak in different opinions of what is or may be true spiritual things (while a few ar just freezing cold or dead spiritualy), but i ask all of you, why even bother to care or pretend to care of spiritual things?.

Girl look for more info than that, educate yourself, find who wrote it and what they say about the writers, find out how much reaserch they did for that subject, don't just read and think it is the truth just cause it sounds convinsing enough or because you appeal to it. Set all feelings aside before you read and question what you read, always.
I would say the same to you about what the governing body prints in the watchtower.
Remember, I used to believe them. I used to think I had the truth.
Something felt very wrong, especially when they told us NOT to get an education, and NOT to listen to apostates.
If they had nothing to hide they would have nothing to fear from what apostates have to say.
They are very afraid of what sites like this have to say, for good reason, otherwise they wouldn't mind that you come here.
But you are not following their admonition to stay away from sites like this!
I am glad you are here though. I hope you read and read and let your reasoning ability take over your indoctrination..
I have come to the logical conclusion that my intuition was correct, that my doubts were well founded.
I have done my research for the past two years.

Help needed on proof of cover ups, deceit and change of doctrines for Alema
by fifi40 inaleman is new to the board and is a jw intent on defending them.. despite some arguments given he is looking for proof of anything that discredits jws whether this is change of doctrine, the reliability of the nwt, cover ups of sexual abuse cases and pay outs, blood doctrine issues........by and large anything that we would use to say why we no longer believe and shows the jws of being corrupt, brainwashed, deceitful or just plain not the right religion.. if you have thread links that you can supply for him to read i would greatly appreciate it.. i am not sure if he is yet baptised but he defends their views strongly.. he also feels that the board members here do not have spirtuality so any of you who have religious beliefs still please would you give a few short lines on your thoughts.. all input gratefully received.. fi.

ETC.

But I am trying to make a piont here, the reason why you left 'because of lies' is probably the few people you met lied to you knowing how you are. Mabey because of selfish reasons you left, but all things are never hidden from Jehovah. Anyone who does wrong will see their creator and face his judgment sooner or latter. Just a little patience and you'll see what I mean.

Dating a df girl who wants to go back - Do I have a chance?
by mrburns inhaving read some of the previous posts, i'm pretty sure what the majority answer will be.
my situation is similar.
we met a little over a year ago, she got df over her relationship with me, something that put her in a pretty long depression that she gradually grew out of (with some notable setbacks along the way).

No, I did not say that all the brothers are molesters.
I stated that there are men in the organization who are molesters. I did not say that they all were.
When this supposedly PURE and CLEAN religion has as THAT many, if not MORE molesters, than the catholic church does,
(the catholic religion having millions more members on top of that)
does that tell you that they fight evil orharbour it??
You still have not shown any examples of your statement where this religion fights evil either.
As a matter of fact, almost all the JWs are morally superior to the rest of the world, Morality has become something frowned upon nowadays. We live in a 'dog eat dog' world where 'only the strong survive' and the JWs have always been humble, loving, careing, understanding human beings. Even women now always seem to choose 'bad boys' because this is what attracts them more than the nice, understanding, loving ones.
Yeah, I used to be as ignorant and as think as arrogant as you do.

Glad I woke up and saw this religion for what it really is - LIES and DECEPTION.
And no, I was neither DF'd or DA'd, nor did I leave because of wrong doing, and I was raised in it..
I left because I finally listened to that voice inside my head saying: THIS RELIGION IS ALL WRONG!!!.

What about your JW past are you thankful for?
by nvrgnbk inin the interest of self-healing and finding the peace that comes from being grateful, can you think of anything at all that was positive about having been one of jehovah's witnesses?.
not to be misunderstood with missing something about it, is there something about the experience that has enriched you?.
to answer the question myself, being forced to face the fallacies of the teachings of jwism, i was also prompted to look past those teachings and reevaluate everything i believed in.. that experience was frightening and unsettling, but i'm thankful for it.. i now have a greater appreciation for life in all its wonder than i did when i took it for granted as one of jehovah's witnesses.. i'm more determined now to find meaning in this life, after having lived for so long for a future that was never to arrive..

I keep thinking, what did that religion give me that no other religion or upbringing could?
Nothing comes to mind.
I would of been better off not being raised a JW.
I think the only thing I am thankful for is:growing up dirt poor.
It taught me to value what I do have, and to not take anything for granted,
I now like the finer things in life, and I have an appreciation for them, but I can live without them.
But you don't have to be a JW to be poor....so that does not count.
