Would You Outlaw Jehovah's Witnesses If You Had The Power?
by minimus inas much as i believe that the witnesses are a "cult", i don't think i'd choose to legally ban them.
what about you?

I would rather expose them than outlaw them. Something illegal only looks more enticing to those ignorant of the facts.

POST YOUR REALLY HARD JW QUESTIONS HERE SO I CAN CALL BRANCH
by tresbella ini plan to call up the branch office and pose as an 'interested one' and ask a bunch of difficult questions i am almost positive no jw witness will be able to ansewr.
1. if the supposed "light is getting brighter" then does that not mean that it is possile that many of the teachings that the society is teaching now may be false such as blood transfusions and the 1914 teaching?
2. since any witness who speaks against the wt and refutes one of their teachings and is therefore disfellowshipped for it, what if the very teaching that they spoke against turned out to be wrong later on?

Well heck yea I'm jealous of anyone who can pay cash for a house when I can barely pay rent! Surely you arent implying that Serena looks better than me?
Ok well I wouldnt mind her abs but I'd put my boobs against hers any day of the week .
Actually Gumby, I'm a big fan of both the girls! I love that they do whatever the heck they want and I love watching them play tennis. I'm just curious what the societys opinion is. I would love to hear how the society explains away the celebrity witness phenomenon.

My dream last night: an ache in my heart
by Lady Lee inwhen i was 9 my mother escaped for her life from my abusive father.
there were 4 children in the family and she took the two youngest to leave with her sister while she went to find a place to live (this is pre-jw).
she left the oldest of the boys (18 months younger than i was) and i with the parents of one of my school friends.

(((((((lee))))))))
((((((((((lee)))))))))) I'm so sorry :-(
I can relate a little..when I was 10 or 11 my oldest brother walked out on the JW life and thus our family. I rarely saw or spoke with him for the next 20 years and even though we are both no longer witnesses there is just too much time and distance to salvage any sort of relationship right now. But I too keep hope alive that one day we can sit down and chat at least.
take care,

What is the societys official stand on the Williams sisters who openly repeatedly tell the world that they are devout Jehovahs Witnesses yet laugh in the face of every one of the guidelines that Jehovah's 'visible organization' has given us.

Serena in the News Again
by Kenneson inserena claims she puts god first, family second and tennis third in her life.
see "serena trying to stay focused on tennis.
when you're the first tennis player to have a bobblehead doll cast in your image, what's to worry?

"I got to live life, too, so it was a double-edged sword," Serena said. "I got to hang out in LA and enjoy myself. Since I was three, I never had a long period when I wasn't thinking about playing tennis. It was the most calming period of my life. You're only 21 once."
I honestly dont know why they go on calling themselves witnesses and then making statements that completely contradict everything that JW's believe. Its tempting to write the society to get their 'official' stand on the Williams sisters.
I'm all for them doing whatever they want with their life and making the most of it but why the heck do they claim to be witnesses all the time? I just dont get it.

Ebay totally rocks for selling stuff cause you get those people who are like gambling addicts or something and they get a rush from trying to keep outbidding people so they keep bidding and bidding just so they can win... . I've sold a couple of things for more than it would have cost them brand new in a store! lol.

Our dear Jackson is sick again . . . . interesting parenting question
by cruzanheart inthis is starting to remind me of my childhood.
of course, the plus side is that i grew out of most of it, but it was hell while it lasted.. jackson (our 8-year-old) had his tonsils and adenoids out the beginning of june, in an effort to help reduce the number of infections and viruses he's been getting.
he's allergic to a lot of stuff, most of which grows in texas (where we live), and we've tried allergy shots on two separate occasions which reacted badly on him.

Sorry to hear your kiddo is sick too.
I can relate as my son has been having a lousy few months as well. He used to be very healthy except for the occasional pink eye or cold from preschool. He had mono a couple months ago and then a few weeks later caught another virus with rashes and fever. Before the mono he had his pre-kindergarten shots and had an allergic reaction where his arm was twice its size for a week and then a stomach virus where he was up all night vomiting (that was the worst let me tell ya).
I feel like I got off lucky the first 4 years because hes been sick more this year than all the others combined. I hope they both grow out of it real quick!
I had him at 27 and I think that was a great age for me. Everyone is different in that aspect I suppose.
