i have a family a son and a girl friend out of wedlock that's why i am disfellowshiped.

i hate my "lie" life.

Core, DITTOS to everyone posting to you. Family is the most important thing you can have--if it's just you and your son, YOU ARE FAMILY. You shouldn't want to leave him to the will of other adults who "know what's best for him" plus he would be angry with you for leaving him maybe for the rest of his life. I hope when you wake up this morning, you will see things more clearly and make good decisions.

Man if I were you, I'd take that Hawaii offer. I've been there--it's a beautiful place. I have a friend who lives on the Big Island and she has her own little area, sort of hilly, where she goes to stay grounded.

for those of you who watch big love, near the end of the episode margene was having a conversation with bill, after he found out she was friends with ana (his new interest).

they were in a discussion about testimony and holy spirit and bill asked her if the holy spirit spoke to her about ana and she asked "how would you know?

boy how familiar does that sound?

Pistoff mentioned in the Big Love thread that they love John from Cincinnati. It is quite a different story for sure, and I agree, amazing writing.

I was wondering whether or not the LDS community had a reaction to this series. Even though this show is about Mormon fundamentalists living the "principle" I would say the rest of the beliefs between mainstream LDS and the fundies are the same. In defense of LDS, they were great at diffusing the fundie christians, on a board I was on on AOL. Plus they know their theological stuff; much much better than JWs.

For those of you who watch Big Love, near the end of the episode Margene was having a conversation with Bill, after he found out she was friends with Ana (his new interest). They were in a discussion about testimony and holy spirit and Bill asked her if the holy spirit spoke to her about Ana and she asked "how would you know?" and he said, "you just know."

Boy how familiar does that sound? (speaking of the holy spirit and the 144,000 chosen ones, that is)

How Many Entire Families That You Know Of Stayed "In The Truth"?

most kids that grew up "in the truth", that i knew of did not stick around.

and if they did, they were "in the truth" in name only.

they played both sides and were considered "weak".. do you know of entire families still in without any defection??

Unless they relax the rules on elder qualifications, no man will be qualifying as an elder because their families will have at least one person that will not excel in the ministry or even go to the meetings.

That's why the CO had my husband deleted....our children were not baptized and not showing much interest in excelling in the ministry. The previous CO was not attentive to this situation and did nothing.

And it wasn't right for us to make them get baptized just so he could stay an elder, as many husbands and wives do to aspire to "eldership."

when your beliefs are challenged, how do you react?when individuals question or challenge you about your beliefs, how do you react?

as a jehovahs witness, many individuals became touchy when questions directed .

toward the watchtower society did not fit the popular conception, thought or ideal.

If I am talking to someone (a workmate, friend) I let them bring the subject up. And if they ask me what my beliefs are, I just tell them I'm taking a break from all belief systems and re-evaluating myself.
