jesus received his mission orders from jehovah.. the apostles received their mission orders from jesus.. philip received his mission orders from an angel.. paul received his mission orders directly from a vision of christ.. barnabas took paul to jerusalem where he met james (jesus brother and peter) for fiteen days.
no mission was ordered by jerusalem.

I very seldom wear perfume because of the business I'm in plus it seems many people are sensitive to fragrances. But I have been around people whose fragrance smells like bug spray.

i'm not much of a poster here, but the passing of my mom on friday is as good a reason as any.. she was in deep, no doubt will be refered to as "faithful to the end" by those who eulogize her.
this new chapter in my life of course has me is a reflecive mood.
i'm sure when she was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago that her hope was that the "new system" would come before she succumbed.
I'm sorry that you lost your mom, and even though I don't know you or your mom's thinking, and maybe you didn't even know her thinking before she died, please don't judge her too harshly. Sometimes people develop different mind-sets when they are ill and death is imminent. On the other hand, it doesn't matter what your mom thought or believed; it's what the future holds that's important.
I am a firm believer in the millenium which will be a blessing to all people, including your mom. It is promised. What none of us knows is how and what is going to happen before we get there. 6 billion people being destroyed -- is just a musing taught by the WT. Many people of other professed Christian beliefs have different teachings on this, and all I can say is that we just have to wait and see.

i was out friday night with a few of the friends i have made since leaving jws behind, when lo and behold, it turns out that one of their boyfriends was an exjw too!
i was excited at first, as i had not yet met someone who was exjw and gay in the flesh until now.
however, my excitement was shortlived.
I agree, it does take a while to start shedding and unlearn all that we have learned taught by the society.
Although I don't have any experience in helping any df'd., persons who want to go back, I would encourage them to read or attempt to read some of Rutherford's books, and see what a turn-off he was. He was nothing but bombastic and high-minded, yet he was a president of the WT and representing an organization which boasts of having God's approval. What a far cry from how Jesus was!

Wow Primitive! Very good observations! I didn't like the movie either. It got my adrenaline up the whole movie, and then I was let down. Although I enjoyed Will's acting, I was very disappointed in the story!
