  What Things Would You Not Have Done As A JW That You Would Do Now?

  as witnesses, we were very concerned that we might offend somebody's conscience and our actions reflected that.

  if someone might've been "stumbled" by our actions or speech, we would make sure we would do everything possible to not upset another fellow brother or sister.. i would not have gone to an "r" rated movie.

  now, i go to any rated or unrated movie because i don't give a sh*t what smeone might feel over my choice.. what things are you free to do without worrying that someone might be disturbed over it?

  What Do You Do for Work / Career?

  i've been on the board for quite a while now and was wondering, what do my fellow jwdr's do for work, employment or career?

  me, i'm in probably one of the most hated careers in america right now.

  (not gonna tell you what it is either) but how about you, what do you do to earn a little coin?.

  I am a salesperson in a retail Serta mattress store. I love my job. I can pretty much do whatever I want when there are no customers. Sounds boring, I know, but I love people and I get paid to talk. I found out about the WTBTS because I started surfing the net.

  I love the owner, my supervisor,and the other salespeople. They are all very supportive and fascinated with the stuff I tell them about the cult. It is a great job.

  My supervisor offered to work half the day for me tomorrow so I can pack up some more of my things.

  i'm sorry if this has been posted before, but for those who didn't hear about it-.

  ryan sutter was a devoted jehovahs witness, baptized at age 15. over a decade later, his "entire belief system fell apart, largely due to talkorigins.org".

  sutter wrote to talkorigins, a famous post of the month entitled "youve changed my life.

  Reading " Crisis of Consience", What did you Learn, How did it affect you?

  thought this would be good to discuss for the newbies and others just getting out of the witnesses, so they can have their thinking and appetites whetted of things they never knew coming out from under the witness organizations spell.

  i know for myself, after reading this book, it totally clarified what the reasons were for all the control in the organization.

  and i was informed of things i never had a clue that were going on behind the bethel scenes.

  It made me realize that the control that they had over the R&F had nothing at all to do with Jehovah protecting us from Satan's evil world. Just a group of men using scare tactics to keep their positions as our rulers, setting themselves up as an idol to be worshipped.

  Reading that book made me come to terms with what had happened to me. I was duped and the jig was up.

  I will never get over my shock and anger about the Malawi/Mexico scandal.

  Is WTS chronology flawed?

  historians agree that jerusalem was invaded by babylon in 586/587bce.

  the wts discredits most historical records and says that jerusalem was invaded in 607bce.

  the wts start with 587 and add the 70 years that jerusalem lay desolate to obtain the 607 date.. if jerusalem was invaded in 587 then it lay desolate for only 50 years (587-537=50).

  Sassy - I love that "celebrate the beginning of our family".

  I used to have theme parties for my kids; 50's, dinosaurs, whatever. All the kids did crafts, played games and got gifts. We had plenty of food including a special cake and ice cream.

  the good news...i just had my annual review and, as always, i got an "exceptional"!

  yay, sweetface!!!!

  i am organized, knowledgeable, show extreme initiative, other than my iming addiction adhere to company policy, am terribly dependable, productive, and have excellent communication skills.
