  I Have The Baby/Those Are Some Stealthy JWs/Apparently Mama Is Going To Hell

  just a update for anyone who's interested:.

  so i had the baby at the end of june, he is a healthy, albeit large, baby boy, and prehaps the only man i may ever truly love.

  the dubby one foot in the other out bf has been an amazing help and is totally and completely in love with his son.

  Congrats on the baby boy!

  The problem with the love bombing is that it's conditional, not that it isn't sincere. As for not christening him because he's not old enough to decide or commit, neither are 10 year olds but that doesn't stop the JW's from baptizing children who may one day decide, when they really are old enough to make that kind of decision, that they don't want to be a JW. Then they are shunned by friends and family alike.

  I would tell you to run like the wind, but it isn't that simple, so I wish you strength.

  Did you ever go through a period of obsession with all things WT related upon your awakening?

  when i was a firm believer that the wts was god's chosen organization, i didn't really research too much.

  never gave much thought to other opinions.

  if the insight book said so, than it was factual.

  Question About Breast Photographs

  i have a fairly serious but gently light-hearted question.. i am on my out the door to meet a friend for consultion with a surgeon who specializes in breast surgery.

  the reason for the consultation is that breast mri and biopsy shows possible cancerous lesions.

  in george orwell's novel 'nineteen eighty-four' the capitulation of the principal protagonist is portrayed in his willingness to assent to the proposition that two and two make five.

  once he had denied objective reality, his mental conquest was complete and he was no longer truly the master of his own mind.

  nineteen eighty-four is in many ways, a very depressing read.. a charge commonly leveled at jehovah's witnesses is that the type of mind control envisioned by orwell has been and continues to be used on them.

  Tempur - pedic mattresses

  how bout a sleep number bed?.

  I sold mattresses, retail, for about 6 years. There really is NO better mattress than the Tempur pedic. Hands down. We have two. If you can afford one, get it, you'll probably never replace it.

  I HATE Sleep Number, don't think air mattresses are good for you. Google "Sleep Number and Mold".

  DC Talk on Generaton

  as i will not be in attendance for this year's district convention, i would love to know exactly what the talk on the new meaning of "generation" actually states.

  i visited my recently widowed mother (who found the "truth" when i was a toddler, and therefore i was raised in the religion - quit it totally 3 years ago) and had a lively discussion on the implications of this "new light".

  she seemed really disturbed about all the "new anointed" ones coming out of nowhere.

  Discussion on the way out of convention

  sunday evening there were a group of sisters talking on their walk back to the carpark.

  "so if the generation just means that your life overlapped with people who were around in 1914, couldn't that just go on forever?".

  ""i guess...." (looked at each other confused, then at me as i walked past).. to which i said: "oh yes, remember the days when the generation was a simple 70 years from 1914?".

  Cognizant dissonance will set in, unfortunately, and they will go on their merry way as if NOTHING has changed. I hope there are those that truly wake up but the majority will hardly be roused from their kool-aid slumber.

  The bottom line is that this new spin means that Jesus meant nothing by even bringing up a generation, sooo....he could have said nothing and the result would be the same. No one knows when...oh wait...he did say that.

  Oh, Crap, JW Family ReunionMy

  my dad hasn't spoken to me in about 18 months after we had a fight over the wts.

  (see thread i started then: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/170916/1/id-like-to-shoot-my-dad ).

  so, today he calls me and leaves a message that he's having a "family reunion" on june 26 and i'm welcome to come and bring the family.
