When I returned to work after 9/11 a regular pioneer who I worked with grabbed me in front of other co-workers and said: "Isn't this exciting!!!"
I wanted to slap her. I said: "It's very sad", and walked away.
the company i work for rents out several floors in an office building.
this jw works for the actual office building, specifically in a little mini concession stand, with things like overpriced chips, soda, etc.. so i'm walking through the revolving doors this morning, and i see her.
elevators can be a mofo in the morning some days.

dr. margaret barkers new book, the great angel: a study of israels second god, argues conclusively that yahweh, the god of israel, was not the father of jesus, but jesus christ himself.
furthermore, the belief that jehovah was gods (elyons) first son a tradition that went far back into israelite history.
it not only was known to the ancient prophets, but to the early christians and even the gnostics.
I'm so glad I no longer believe in God or the Bible.
Mysteries and coverups and puzzles, oh my!
Can't y'all see this topic is as twisted as the WT's new take on "generation"?
well everybody i told you all a few years back how hard it was to be in college at the age of 40. i thought my hair was going to fall out trying to keep up with the young college kids in math and science.
but now 3 years later i will be graduating this november with my ba degree.
i just love school and will be applying for graduate school to get my ma.
Quandry: you have a pm. :)
one of my favorite is the yerba buena gradens in san francisco and the martin luther king memorial.
a beautiful waterfall cascading over sierra granite with the words of the prophet amos etched in the stone which were spoken by rev.
king, 'righteousness rolls down like water and justice like a mighty stream'.. so much to think and meditate on with those words and that setting and the sound of that waterfall.. we will go, my wife and i, to celebrate love, peace and freedom, 35 years of marriage, children, grandchild, and friends who stayed by our side.
What a lovely thread!
My husband and I enjoy going out to Sunday brunch while our witness relatives sit at their meeting. :)
a brother i spoke with from bethel to me seemed discouraged and lacking zeal latley...he spoke of leaving which shocked me since he was there for decades...he left to get a full time job!!!
it was his whole reason for living since i've known him!
others have said the new doctrine of "blended generations" of anionted seeing armagedon is "confusing" or "i just don't get it"...one brother my only close friend is furious and said i qoute..."they seem to be blowing smoke up our ass!
If the poster posted a person's identity w/o their permission, he would be placing his friend in the line of fire. Someone like you, AIW, would call his elders and create a nightmare for him.
If JW's were free to express doubts openly and honestly, they would not need to keep their identity hidden. This alone, is proof that the WT is a cult.

a) go in disguise.
You can't take your kids AND go in disguise. That makes no sense. :)
does anyone have a good analogy or something i could use to help explain to my husband that blood fractions are still blood?
he feels that it gets to a point where it's not blood anymore.
.
I've posted this one before and even mentioned it to a local elder who just stood before me with his mouth open:
Say I bake a pecan pie for a dinner party. I put it on the counter to cool. I have to run to the store and on the way out I tell my husband: "Don't eat the pecan pie!!!"
When I come home I find a slice missing from the pie. I confront my husband who says: "But, honey, I picked out all the pecans, left the crust and only ate the gooey filling. And it was only one slice, I did not eat the pie!"
Is hubby off the hook? Did he abstain from the pie since he only cut one slice and ate only the gooey stuff?
...if bane and alice rachel met, .
let's hope that cupid's pagan arrow flys true.. .
I think AIW is a guy...
I once had a friend named Ginger that was bat shit crazy, but I wouldn't want to cook her...
