Is Identification Mandatory?
by cameo-d inguess bob dylan didn't think so.. apparently, he was "caught" strolling in the city and curious cops wanted to know why he was walking around.. cops then escorted him to his hotel where he had friends who vouched for him.. http://www.abcnews.go.com/us/wirestory?id=8332031.
so my question is....is it illegal to walk on the street without identification?.
if you are without id what are the usual consequences?.

Deputy Dog is right on...each state has varying laws. The totality of the circumstances for Mr. Dylan...time of day, area, etc. would be enough to be considered "suspicious activity" allowing further investigation.
As a side not, I saw Dylan in concert last year...and after that performance I would have arrested him for grand theft!!

In CA you cannot be stopped without reason for ID purposes...that law was ruled invalid quite a few years ago. If the police are investigating a possible crime, you are required to identify yourself, but physical ID is not required. Obviously if you falsely ID yourself, that is a crime. If you are stopped while driving, you are required to present a valid driver's license.

LOL Farkel...that is an outstanding summation of the Memorial experience...my non-JW wife commented after attending her first Memorial, "I felt like I was attending a tax seminar!" Isn't that joyous and motivating?...

DNCall Unmasked - Part 4 of 5
by DNCall instartfragment.
even though i didnt have the title of elder, i was still active in my work at bethel and the congregation used me as much as possible.
when the congregation recommended that i once again serve as an elder, one elder raised the objection that that barbara was a low-hour publisher.

How Would You Prove That Abstaining From Blood Is Not Prohibiting Transfusions?
by minimus inlast night my grandson got a blood transfusion.
it occured to me how stupid the belief is that to "abstain from blood" refers to a transfusion.
how would you reason with someone to show that abstaining from blood would not refer to accepting a blood transfusion?.

I would be interested in hearing what Reniaa has to say about AlanF's analysis of the blood issue in the above post...

I agree minimus...there are so many inconsistencies in the whole blood argument...eating meat, accepting blood fractions and transplants (no such thing as a bloodless donor organ!). Though I can see some logic (minimally!) in certain WT arguments for neutrality, not being involved in politics and certain doctrinal issues, the blood argument is too far fetched for even a very broad thinking individual to accept! Unless you are willing to completely suspend rational thinking and logic you are hard pressed to defend it, much less die for it!
