ARGUING WITH JW ON YOU-TUBE....
by Mary intake a look at the uh, 'discussion' i've been having with an obvious jw on youtube about the paganism of christmas.
the idiot at one point actually compared celebrating the birth of jesus with the nazis partying with hitler:.

Mary...good job. It might be a good time to bring up cognitive dissonance (though I doubt he would know what it means!)

I go with Ray Franz...I don't think Fred would qualify since he was the architect of much of the madness!

Prove That JWs Do Not Act As "True Christians"
by minimus ini have heard witnesses proudly say that are the only true religion following the bible.
they put down anyone else that claim to be christian, stating they are merely "counterfeit christians".
jehovah's witnesses believe they alone can rightfully be called "christian".

It would be interesting to ask your JW the question, "do you consider yourself a Christian?". When they answer yes, ask them "what does that title imply?". I suspect you would get a very convulated answer that would eventually follow a trail back to the FDS interpretation of what is a Christian. More than likely they will talk about Jehovah and his appointed channel. Then ask, "why even be called a Christian rather than soley identifying yourself as a JW?" I think they might be hard pressed to answer that question...it certainly was a question I asked myself when I was in and I couldn't answer it!

What's "The Perfect Storm" To Become One of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus inwhat ingredients go into making someone become a witness?

I agree with jaguarbass...being raised as a JW softens your resistance to the point that there is no reason not to accept everything you hear. The old adage, "perception is reality" always sticks in my mind when discussing what makes witnesses tick. Even the most intelligent person can fall victim to this when they are fed it from childhood. Mind control is powerful...

How Long Were You Mentally Out Of The "Truth" Before You Left?
by minimus ini was totally spiritually and mentally out of it at least 2 years before i resigned as an elder.
it was actually a long process but i can say it is a complete one.

Though I was raised in the "Troof", I wonder if I was ever mentally in...I think I spent 40 years physically there but never mentally invested...made leaving alot easier!
