by thedepressedsoul ini spoke to a very reliable source at bethel and got an update on the happy song that they did.
apparently it was for family night, which is kind of like a talent show they do once a year at bethel.

The New Gog of Magog Understanding Proves They Never Teach The Truth
by minimus inthey insist that their understanding of the bible is correct.
if you challenged their current view, you would be considered an apostate.
what they teach as the truth, constantly changes.

In search of WWWW (What's Wrong with Watchtower)
by Fernando inin more than 40 years of doorknocking not a single person was ever able to sit down with me and kindly and patiently explain exactly "what's wrong with watchtower" in simple terms and baby-steps that i could grasp at the time.. of course i have to admit it is not as easy as one might hope.. this morning one possible (not simple enough) summary came to mind:.
the bible promotes belief in jesus and the liberating and transforming gospel message about him (in both the nt and ot).. the watchtower instead promotes belief in a visible golden calf and pseudo-mediator between god and man in the form of:.
blind authoritarian clerics who have co-opted the word "elder" and turned it into a title (aka apostate "clericalism").

Money...and how many people today would tolerate a 7 day convention? I am guessing even a weekend convention is now a stretch for people to attend. -

insidetheKH...if you are going to throw about numbers, the Pew Survey has shown that JW's have the lowest retention rate of any "major" religious denomination. The rate of loss for those raised as JW's is approximately 67%. The typical age of baptism for a JW child is in the early-mid teens. The majority of JW's leave the organization in their late teens and 20's. I can use my own children as an example...baptized at 15, gone by 21. I don't see anything Slidin Fast said as contradictive...maybe you need to watch the next baptism at your annual convention and see the demographics for yourself. Figures don't lie...liars figure! -
