I do agree with you, I was just don't understand why they want all that surplus, who personally gets it if the WTBTS folded tomorrow. I pray to Jehovah to clean up this organization, I have been suspicious of the rorting for years but can't understand who is personaly benifiting.

by Lady Liberty ingood morning everyone "happy thursday!!",.
just reading another thread, and it made me think of a question i could never answer as a jw.
how is it that when your hall wants to build, you recieve the "loan" from the society, but then you have to pay the loan back with intrest??!!.

At the end of the day, who benifits from the societies money then. I don't see Lett and the other GB boys driving around in mercs or sailing up the carabean on a lavish boat. So if they are accumuating all this wealth (besides using it for KH and missinaries bethels and trainings) what are and why do they want or have to charge interest. And why are they so stingy then.
If the WTBTS folded tomorrow who would get the wealth.?

Has money taken over...
by emptywords ini have found that at every assembly being circuit, district or one day, they are always, always in deficit, why is this, at the last circuit assembly they said that it cost 6,000 for electicity for two days, and that to me was just embarrassing, i asked the sister next to me if what i heard was correct, and yes she said in debt for the weekend because of electricity.. another thing is the soliciting of property from older ones, i know that they do this with anyone that has property (especially older ones that have no heirs).
to leave their assets to the wts, because the governments will take it if you die.
but also what they can leave to the wts would be appreciated if they have family heirs left, i have seen this soliciting in the wt mags on occastions.. what is you're experience if any on this.. cheers.

I threw them out. forget all the hours I put in over the years, though that was my dicision I know, but still was there was no hi how are you, thank you for youre years of service....

Thanks TJ for you're response
I think it's over-zealous elders more then direction from the WTB&TS.
Hopefully this is true, but still these zealots within the congregation is not on. We have elders that don't watch the news or TV havne't been to a movie in decades, the fanatism is troublesome. If all is based on love and that spirit is directing these ones, I'm sure none of this would be going on.

Ridiculous JW superstitions
by B_Deserter ini'm not talking about the stuff you hear at the kingdom hall, i'm talking about the "experiences" you were told of by people you knew.
the big one for me was demons.
so many people i know had experiences with them.

On the blessings....this is true
Young sisters says...Jehovah has blessed me with a husband (she did pioneer for awhile lol)
A middle aged sister being in the truth for decades remaining faithful and doing as much as she can for the truth prayers for a husbands for years, she is lonely and want's a companion. She dies of breast cancer at age 43, never having her prayer answered.
Jehovah blesses the younger sister with a husband and she gloats about it, the olders sister is not blessed.
Why?
Because there are not enough brothers to go around, and secondly the men have a choice of many sisters prefering the young pretty ones. TRUE

I hope that you find what you are looking for, and that things work out for you. Everyone has choices and whatever choice they make is theirs and their alone, and to be respected.
All the best, and good on you for making a dicision. Better than being in limbo.
Cheers

Please put your JW heads back on for a moment... (Memorial Meal)
by AlphaOmega insomething has been bugging me for ages about the non-participation of r&f jws in the memorial meal (sounds like a mcdonalds deal) !.
i've just worked out what it is.... only the "anointed" can partake of the emblems.. but at the original meal, as instituted by jesus, no one was anointed.
the anointing came at pentecost, after he had died !.

I believe it to be those in Christ's body, the 144,000 kings and priests that will rule with him in his heavenly kingdom, which the WTBS says Peter and all those except Judas (sold his inheritance, like Josephs brother , I think) were all part of that elite class of heavenly rulers.

Elders ARE idiots!!
by Gill inthis has always been my opinion, even as a 'loyal' jw!
i thought that elders were idiots.
i have only ever known one who has ever had any real education, a solicitor and he was an arrogant twonk, the rest were a pathetic bunch of bullies who 'appeared' to be loving and kind but were infact out to find out the shit about everyone and cause as much trouble for everyone as possible.

Some elders end up here.
We tried to do what was right with the information we had.
I did more good than harm as an elder. I was called by some "the voice of reason" on the body. I sometimes regret leaving as soon as I did. I just couldn't do it any more. I admire those on JWD that remain as elders for the sake of family and to help as many as possible.
Many more will join us before it's all over.
I hope you are right...if there are elders in owe congregation that are free thinkers and want to follow Christ's love, how can I be sure who they are, I know one elder in my congo that is just so different from the others, he seems so balanced calm, caring and warm. How do I know which ones know that the org has become corrupted and they are there just to help us, I have to watch what I say.
