  Judicial Committees: What was it like selecting them?

  looking back over the years it's funny to me now how we selected committees for jcs.

  it seems like there was always at least one barney fife, gestapo elder who was chomping at the bit to be selected.

  rarely would a guy like that get selected.

  anytime i hear one of my family members or any other jw say the phrase "the truth" in a sentence it makes my blood boil.

  WBTS 1914 IS JESUS SECOND COMING !!!

  mark this!in 2007 watchtower still say's 1914 jesus second coming who are the jehovahs witnesses?regular people and not part of a cult.

  people who want others to know about god and the bible.

  believers that these are the last days before armageddon and that it is urgent for people to develop a relationship with god.

  they thought arma was coming in 1914, they later said it to be a parasia, Christ' presence and began to rule as king and throw satan and his henchmen out to the vicinity of the earth, no more access to heaven and we the great crown and the few remaining elite king heirs are in woe woe, because great terror is going to happen, and true their words, the 1st world war started. since then mth 28, luke21 and mrk13, 2tim 3 1-6 have gone into full swing the end is closer now than ever because all the old diggers that were alive from 1914 has to be alive to witness the end in other words they would have had to have been old enough to know what was happening in `1914, nearly all have carced it, so in 1995 they changed it to era, not generation......God speed we must be even closer because.........zeph1:14 yearly text....i'm tired.

  Has money taken over...

  i have found that at every assembly being circuit, district or one day, they are always, always in deficit, why is this, at the last circuit assembly they said that it cost 6,000 for electicity for two days, and that to me was just embarrassing, i asked the sister next to me if what i heard was correct, and yes she said in debt for the weekend because of electricity.. another thing is the soliciting of property from older ones, i know that they do this with anyone that has property (especially older ones that have no heirs).

  to leave their assets to the wts, because the governments will take it if you die.

  but also what they can leave to the wts would be appreciated if they have family heirs left, i have seen this soliciting in the wt mags on occastions.. what is you're experience if any on this.. cheers.

  Myah, of course there are loving caring brothers and sisters, elders and co's wherever, whatever. But it is a fact that publishers are encouraged to leave their property to the WTS, I have family members that have been approached by elders just for that, and every year there is a soliciting article in the W/T for the same thing. I understand that they would rather have them have it than the government, fare enough but I have found in my own congo certain elder that does graviate toward elderly lonely women with property. I am not paranoid as I am very close to both these sisters.

  And of course venues cost money, but be jezzz we own our curcuit assembly out right, yet for two days we are in thousands of dollars deficit this is every assembly the excuse, electricity, then of course all the maintanence work and gardening, landscaping is done free by brothers, they have brothers staying on the property to care for it free. So you ask me.

  Jehovah allowed the wicked kings to rule in Isreal representing him for awhile till they were removed, the same with the evil priests, the false prophets, in his time they were done away with. When they say wait on Jehovah to us, that is exactly what I'm praying for, needs a good clean up. That's what I believe, and I am not bitter with anyone, I have come out of my cocoon, and started to open my eyes and see things realisticly not idealisticly. Nothing is perfect that's for sure, but WTBTS say that the GB is the only channel Jehovah God uses today to reach the sheep and teach the sheep.

  They had no right in the past to advise and look down on b/s for wanting to further their education, to get a degree for a descent job, now they don't discourage it much, things have changed a bit, but tell that to all the poor b/s before that. They change their doctrine on the generation to age, era, makes a huge difference, they may not have directly said the 1975 end was coming but they sure planted the thought of suggestion and posibility, it was like fire, then when that failed, they beat their brothers with, you ran ahead of the org, and were presumtuous, that's weak.

  Prophecies belong to God not the WTBTS, and they have made some huge mistakes over the years, brothers have been disfellowshiped over not agreeing with certain doctrines the society has said, then only to change in a few years to what the poor brother had complained about, its wrong.

  I believe in Jehovah and yes I wait on him to set things staight, I keep my mouth shut, as we all have the fear of losing our families another fear factor of unloving rules, not all people that disagree with the WTS on certain things are JW bashers and apostates, there are many loving caring b/s that have been treated like dirt by so called loving shepherds, my brother and his wife was a fine example of that, unfairly judged, looked down on by judgemental self righteous bullies, power hungry control freaks, not all are like that but too many are, we are not living in the dark ages though sometimes I wonder if the WTS is.

  since 1995 and the "generation" change, many jw's have gone ahead and had .

  I havnt' read or heard anything about baptizing kids under the age of 14, let along 10, if it came to that then I am sure they would lose more than gain.

  my dad passed away in december and i had to fly to south africa for his funeral.

  both my parents and just about all the extended family are devout witnesses.

  the funeral talk was held at the local kh.

  sorry about you're dad... but true what you say about after the funeral they go back to the shunning thing. What this shunning thing is to them is that, by shunning it may move the disfellowshiped b/s to shame and want to repent and come back, by ignoring them they are not condoning their sin, because the disfellowshiped person has not repented otherwise he/she would be part of the Congo and approved to witness house to house, give talks, answer up whatever....it is uppity and cruel.

  This shunning does nothing but push people away and betrays all that Christ taught about love, forgivness and humility.

  Baptism numbers down. Is this a worldwide trend?

  i just found out that from the dc i was assigned to that 17 got baptized this year.

  this was great news to me.. that is a huge decline from previous years, with the average each year being about 50-55 at the dcs.

  i've noticed at the cas and sads the baptism numbers have decreased steadily over the years.

  The real increase, that is non JW kids is in Africa, they have built heaps of KH their past few years due to the dynamic increase, as the last year book said. So in the western countries been flat, and as said mainly jw kids and through imigration of countries like China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and some island states.

  i was reflecting on the other thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/135961/2.ashx) about the new koolaid watchtower....and thinking about this being more of an overall cost cutting measure than any kind of old light repackaged as special lite.......can you think of any other examples?

  a few examples: no more subscriptions (no more yellow envelopes, no more yellow, blue, green, pink forms).

  no more postages sending individual magazines.. kingdom ministry now sent in same box as magazines rather than separate roll of kms to po house.

  Sister was saying that the bethelites were complaining they had no honey because they couldn't afford it but can't understand why the WT bought printers worth a billion and only use half capacity.

  The place where out cicuit assembly is, is out near Bethel a long way if one doesnt' drive as it is nearly an hours walk from the train station. I phoned them about this and they said they assumed everyone would get a lift, I said what about the disfellowshiped ones that don't drive, cost heaps for a cab from the station, and those that are inactive live on their own, elderly with no family in the troof, but they assume that the witnesses are so kind everyone would be get a lift, whose going to give a lift to a disfellowshiped b/s, no one.

  So freakin' insensitive. I don't drive and this is true, have to catch the train at night on my own in the middle of a city that is known for its snatch and grabs, knifings, women especally would be the main targets. But no one no one person has ever offered me a lift home from the hall at night on a regular basis, out of the past year, I think I have had three lifts. I am not the type to ask, it should be up to the BSConducter to look after his sheep, but hey guess what the CO's visit is in a few weeks, and then out of the blue a sister that does go my way was asked to take me to and from the meetings on week nights. hu timely love.
