  Thanks nvrghbk...on holidays for three weeks, been doing a heap of research and checking out different JW sites and forums, this being my favorite. Do tend to go on a bit at times, coming out of the fog, this biggest thing for me is the change of stands on issues like vaccination and other arrogant ignorant doctrines that have cost the lives of many of their people only to change after the crime. They should have the arse sued of them. Lack of love and humane treatment especially by elders that suppose to set the example, and their spy force.

  I think it is over the top to say they are trained to decieve, they would have no knowledge that they were being trained to decieve people, I don't believe the average JW goes door to door to deliberatley decieve people. To call them a demon is really being quiet silly, for the most they are really nice people that have been decieved by a lot of zealot nutters, who they have changed the doctrines, not the publisher, they blindly go along thinking they are doing what is right in God's eyes.

  I hope that he truth comes out about past doctrines that have cost the lives of so many innocent people only to be changed, and their realisation that they have to admit to their false claims and repent. But I can't see that happening the later that is.

  Russell's Gravesite Pictures - (just got back from Pittsburgh)

  well folks, got back from my trip to see russell's grave site.

  it was quite a interesting experience and sobering to see the pyramid right by his tombstone.

  i'm kind of tired and will be hitting the sack soon but i wanted to post a few pictures.

  I had read that it was not in Russell's will he be buried in a pyramid but rather that of his x wife and some others that still believed in the pyramid, Russell abandoned any belief and was maily of curiosity, that he thought the great pyramid was the bible in stone, as he thought their being 144,000 stones and Christ being the chief corner stone, the top of the pyramid would come of and zoot into the sky with all of christs anointed ones.

  Another Elder Suicide?

  well it looks like a southern ontario elder just took his own life.

  i cant go into details as we live in a very small world in "the truth" and even the smallest amount of detail on this one could quickly connect this to me, so for now its on the d-low.. it is a relative of a very close friend and he is godsmacked by it.

  he said to me, " we sure seem to be seeing more of this lately arent we?

  There are a lot in the org that have bi/polar and other depressive illnesses, borderline personality disorder is another mental illness that is common especially among the sisters.

  The problem is the trying to live up to the all the laws within the congregation, the coldness of the elders and the heartless not good enough do more mentality.

  When faced with a problem they have no one to turn to, can't live with the truth and can't live without it, like a bad marriage but you're not allowed to divorce, so you just go through the motions. No one can do that for to long without it causing severe mental angish and torment. Someone in a congregation I was in years ago commited suicide and the elder told her sister that she would not get the resurrection because she committed an unforgivable sin, this sister left the truth for years, then they changed that thought later, but the damage was already done.

  My prayers and thoughts go out to this dear man, and his family and friends. Chris't love will win over all this and I believe he is safe.

  Disgusting comment re: education from Tacoma 2007 District Convention

  the speaker first starts with what he called the "alphabet soup" of degrees....a.a., b.a., m.a., ph.d., etc.

  Sometimes they can say the most stupid things, unloving and so blind.

  I can remember back in the mid 80's at a district assembly some ol bethel codger said,

  now you single sister will have to get used to being without a mate for eternity because there will not be enough brothers to go around, and think about the angles they don't marry .....so in other words get over it, and the way he said it, was cold heartless and sounded like a women hater, my sister started crying, as she was just widowed and you know the resurrected don't marry, she was devestated.

  There was a huge sigh in the audience and bethel ran hot for days and days, sisters phoning up, they said not to take any notice of it, that it was just a test of their integity.

  Just disgusting, imagine you dedicated you're youth as a sister to pioneering, dreaming one day of marriage and having children, now in you're late or mid fifties and no hope of ever having a family.

  How loving is that....

  Culture, Class, and Congregations

  i know this is nothing new- the thought of the bible being just a story and a blend of culture and of how people interpreted the world around them and recorded it as such.

  it's very athiest..y, even if don't consider myself an athiest.

  because culture and class also affects how people look at the bible whether they believe it or not.

  Truthfully, the congregations in Australia are becoming very multicultural, I myself have seen a huge change in congregations that have large numbers of culture differences, even few numbers. I personally love it.

  The asian b/s are very big on education, not just for language but also for degrees, and courses, they also need to renew their visa and many want to become Oz citizens, nothing wrong with that, but I do see a lot of hypocricy and fibs when it comes to using the uni system to stay longer in the country and so on.... I personally don't care my point is being a dedicated JW, suppose to be honest in everything, and I know in quiet a few cases they are not. many do these courses with no intention of doing anything with it.

  Also we have a large number of Indian and Sri Lanka b/s coming into the org, many have this uppity thing about themselves because of certain cultural beliefs, we have had many a talk on not allowing cultural beliefs to interfere with the brotherly unity. (no partiality, no rascism) but my saying this may sound racists, but it isn't and some from other congregations have actually accused the body of elders of racism because of not being appointed as elders, mini's or whatever. Rascism is happening on both sides of the equator, not just anglo or westeners, which the multicultural mind thought wants us to believe, amazingly it is the westeners that the racist slur is thrown at more than the other way, and I see it from both sides.Should not happen but it definately does.

  the word racist is used willy nilly to get what people want, it goes against all rational thinking and people are scared to say anything or disagree with anything in fear of being called a racist. A racist...someone who thinks because of color culture they are superior. But what culture is superior if they muticlate their women, and think it is ok, then the old racist slur is thrown for having an opinion that doesn't suit the others cultural back ground. How many don't like the western culture, lots but hey multi culti mind set says they can have that oppinion and they can also voice it, but westerners can't in fear of being called racist, bollocks.

  Also the poor are looked down on in some congregations I do believe that, I remember reading a post on this forum last week, forget where but the point was spot on, they said the higher up the ladder the colder, and those at the bottom seem to have the most to offer in love.

  I won't be popular for posting this but what the heck, I'm intitled to my opinion.

  When did the blood doctrine come in, was it Russel or Rutherford.

  They have already change to accepting blood fractions, if they drop the blood thing they will be sued by thousands.

  Other countries should follow the Japanese example.

  What strange lifestyle choices have you seen copied in your congs????

  i guess that most congs have some strange habitual behaviour.

  i have kept a mental list of the strange copycat behaviuor i have seen.. brothers buying the same style suit from the same suppliers......... sisters getting the same hairstyle.......... brothers and sisters getting the same ministry bags, folders etc..... brothers marrying sisters from certain countries or districts...................... brothers learning the same trade............. brothers getting the same jobs............... sisters all getting kids at the same time................ brothers and sisters getting the same health stuff.......... teaching kids at home............. .
