Will they give anything out of that to charitable work? I hope they will carry on as usual and carry on sending out the wrong signal to the world, the JWs will be working in vain trying to persuade people that the WTS is the loving and charitable organisation of God.

Nice thought but they should put it in a fund for all congregations to help look after the elderly, the ones that have given all and now are in need of financial help, those that have no family to help them, even if they do they should still be looked after by the WT$.

Gluttony and Drunkenness

i knew several that got df'd for drunkenness but never anyone for gluttony.

as far as i can remember, in the bible there weren't categories or various levels of sin; and both these are mentioned as sinful.

last i looked, there were an awful lot of very obese witnesses in the congs.

Yes true not all fat people are gluttons, and I think the type of work one does can make a difference, today people sit at computers all day, so the amount of phycical excersise is limited and therefore one should eat less, I think it is habit.

My relative broke both legs and feet and was imobile for a around a year, stacked on the weight, and found it hard to lose it. But still has got almost twice the size since becoming mobile again.

Eating can also be an emotinal thing, eating out of bordom or lonliness is also common.

As I suggested in the first post about alcoholism and gluttony these two were nearly always mentioned together, over indulgence in alcohol is gluttoney.

Voraciousness (eating greedily) eating when one is full, and sometimes the brain does not trigger that one is full that is another mental inormality.

So I guess to disfellowship someone for gluttony how could they actually say that the person is a glutton.

What about sexual gluttony....ha the mind boggles.

Not being satisfied or out of control.

More Evidence that "666" refers to United Nations

3 months, not even a phone call about my late mother from the Dubs.....

so......it has been 3 months since my mother passed away and not one, not one witness has called, stopped by, or even sent a card to me!

it hit me today.

i mean, i must have gotten like 50 sympathy cards in the mail from her worldly relatives and co-workers, as well as numerous phone calls, but not one witness has done anything!

My gut feeling when I heard this was because of apostates, (or what the GB calls apostates) I remember at last years distict assembly they said that some of the b/s were active on apostate sites, and their faith had been wrecked by lies, and that some of the b/s actually felt sorry for some of the apostates, then he added you may hear things about the society and they are simply ALL lies and not true, and that satan is using these ones to drag many away from the truth.

So I guess these so called apostates are making a real dent in the org r/f and the tower is worried, really worried.

JWS and Ex JWS....Is the Mark of the Beast taught in the Hall?

a few jws were stunned when i pointed out revelation 13 to them, they said they have never heard such a thing about the mark of teh beast or it's effects.

im beginning to wonder if its even taught in the hall.

I've personally always believed that the 666 was the mark of the beast and those that have it indirectly or directly worship the beast (Mth 4: 8-10) seeing satan owns and controls these governments by becomming involved in certain things that are part of the gov: one recieves the mark of the beast, therefore one becomes a worshiper of satan, as it is either Satans kingdom or Jehovahs Kingdom.

The WTBTS and its GB must have or had the mark of the beast, because of its involvement with the UN.

but that is not founded on any proof of course, just a humble oppinion.

I'm sorry wingcommander that you had to experience this lack of love at such a sad time in you're life. I think you praying and having that one on one shows you have faith and that is all you need the rest falls into place. Don't be too concerned about the sad state of the witnesses in the congregation rather feel pity for them as you at least can see they are still blind.

overcompensating when leaving JWs?

ever notice this phenomenon?

seems like a lot of people that leave in their early 20s tend to become wild party animals as soon as they leave da troof, getting tattoos, piercings and the like and going almost overboard with it.

anyone ever experience this?

It's not just those in their early twenties, I was much older than that and went wild.
