Can a jw past come back to haunt a person ?

when a person joins the jw organization, do they make a statement claiming that they totally renounce any other religion ?.

i recently took a class titled " religions of the world" and for a final project students need to attend several religious services, and write a paper on the experience.. i find religions to be very interesting to study, but it has crossed my mind that i may have agreed to something when i became a witness back in 1977/ 15 years old at the time.

it is not a major concern, but i would just hate for some statement to appear, or be found by someone stating that i once completely disavowed any religion outside of the jw's.. not being neurotic here, just don't want that ridiculous part of my past jumping up and stabbing me in the back😜.

Watchtower teaches that Jesus dying on the stake is no longer certain

the watchtower has held for many years that jesus died on a stake and held strongly to this teaching.

w 1951 3/15 the above agrees with the new world translation of the christian greek scriptures in its appendix, page 769, in saying that the instrument upon which jesus was nailed was a stake without a crossbeam, and not the religiously represented “cross”; and that the greek word used for that instrument in ancient time meant a “stake” and not the conventional religious cross.

they are no longer certain on this point.

If your goal is to deter someone, you should not have a gun. Once someone has broken into your home is posing an imminent threat you don't deter. You shoot and you shoot to kill. If you think about deterring then your setting yourself up to be killed.

jehovah’s witnesses are assisting victims of a catastrophic fire that engulfed the grenfell tower, a 24-story apartment building in the north kensington area of london, in the early morning hours of june 14, 2017. authorities are reporting that at least 79 people were killed.. four witnesses were evacuated from the apartment building, two of whom were residents of grenfell tower.

fortunately, none of them were injured, although the witnesses’ apartments were among those completely destroyed in the blaze.

witnesses that live near the now fire-gutted apartment building provided food, clothing, and monetary aid to their fellow members and their families that were affected.

You do not have to retreat in your own home. Unless you live in Kalifornia or some other communist state. Dubbers for the most part do not believe in self defense. They are taught this from the cult. The letter I received and posted from the cult shows this clearly. Dogs are very good as a deterrent for break-ins. But you can not take them every where. I had a situation here in Fla. that could have ended bad. My wife and I were on our way to a comedy club to see Kevin Pollak. We took a back way were this is an area of the city that never was developed. A lot of roads in the sub but nothing built. We were doing the speed limit. A small mini Cooper pulled up behind us and started to flash its lights. There was a mile or more of straight road with no oncoming traffic. I kept my speed. After about 2 min. the car passed at high speed and went about half a mile turned into a road and turned around and waited for us to drive by. At that point I had my 9mm ready to go in hand. The cooper pulled in behind us again. At that point I told my wife to call 911 and describe the car. I had gotten part of the LP when it passed the first time. She was giving a discription of the car and what we had of the plate when it pulled along side us. It was dark I could not see in the other car. There could have been a gun pointed at us. It ran beside us for about a mile. Then I believe it saw my wifes phone light and speed off. We gave a description of the car but I doubt anything happened. If I would have seen gun fire coming I would have opened up on it.
