Well durn, I still have your number though and we'll gab on the phone. I see the thread is gradually turning away from me and to the point I was trying to make in the first place.

Thanks for all you folks who aren't here protecting yo' momma's honor (let's just die for our chirrun and leave it at that, what say?). This thread ain't about you and it ain't about yo' fam damly, drop it OK?

If we can't get together and in unity (like a flock in a pen) have a two-minutes Hate of the WTBTS like good folk in INGSOC, we should hang up our jock straps or our running bras and go join the Mormons.

I never wanted this to turn into a thread about ME. However some people here will never, never grow up.

Razor, get on PM sometime when you have time and we'll exchange phone numbers and have a nice chat. You too, Gumby and I'll explain what I mean when using the common names of certain characters from the ancient book. Nothing to get excited about.

TJ, we have plenty in common if you'd just look. We were agreeing just the other day to give our lives for our children. That's fairly big as far as I'm concerned.

But really, this thread is not about me, damnit. It's about that cult we used to be a part of. Surely its more important to discuss than me.

i got baptized as a jw around the end of 1981 and continued as an active publisher for about eight years.

however, i gradually started to become disenchanted with the organization.

it wasnt just one thing, but an accumulation of things that eventually got to me.

I hope that you run, not walk, back to the college and get back in your degree program and go for the Ph.D., and perhaps consider going back into the service if you can. I can tell you from the perspective of a person who has no real retirement waiting on him that nothing is more valuable when you need it. Do the right thing - take care of your wife and your self. Put the things of the kingdom first as soon as you find out what they are (like expressing Love for your fellow man and for your god. And have the WTBTS BITE YOU).

Thank you Ravyn. I fear young Logan's Run is incapable of seeing the world through any filters save his own: insult the JWs and you have insulted his mother: end of intellectual process what there was of it. In a sort of twisted way, that is true as I have noted that absent the individuals, there would BE no organization. So to the degree that she makes the organization possible there is a fault to be found.

I have family members in the organization still and that part of their lives I despise. It's rather easy, I find.

And yes, I am rather passionate about that which I hold to be true and dear and I am passionate about the fact that the WTBTS is as destructive a cult as can be found on this planet today. If they had the run of a country, they would be another Iraq with its Saddam sodomizing everyone in sight and anyone who supported it I would also despise with every cell in my body - my relatives and Logan's too.

My point still stands. There is no anonymity necessary between myself and the GB and/or the WTBTS entire. I want to debate the senile asses and their entire band of merry attornies but they are too cowardly to come out and do so. Logan should take note. I see I have a PM waiting. How I pray it's not Himself wasting my time.

I haven't bothered to read your post as I am assuming it consists of more of the self serving dog-squeeze that masquerades as your "contributions" to this board here of late. I have no interest in it. Nor will I of the next.

This thread started off on what I consider to be a very high note for very high purposes in service of a set of very high ideals and I refuse to participate in your Pharisical-like (that is, marked by a hypocritical censorious self-righteousness, in the likely case you didn't know) cheapening of it, as has become your modus operandi; your posts have become full of sound and fury signifying nothing lately. A sort of adult form of playing with your own toes, as I see it. I'm so happy you've found a way to amuse yourself.

Go 'way little boy, you're bothering the adults and you're untrue to your avatar.

J Bradley Potts, you apparently tease out the few positive things that can be said of JWs and present them as representative of JWs in general; hearing the one person laughing in a Yankee Stadium full of people groaning. Add to that your insipid personal insults and wonder what the hell you're doing on this site, and I wonder why Simon doesn't shut your water off for authoring such insults. Perhaps he recognizes that such insults must come from a damaged brain and leaves you alone to set an example for others. Or perhaps he just hasn't read your drivel as yet. We'll see.

Better yet, shall we see what your contemporaries here think of your post. WHAT SAY YOU FRIENDS?

just had to share some lovely points from this week's service meeting.

the article "imitate jehovah's goodness" has the following paragraph:toward unbelievers: one way we can imitate jehovah's goodness is by showing sincere concern for those not related to us in the faith.

And remember, once you have joined Jehovah's Troupe of Merry Men & Women, there is no honorable way to leave. Ever. And so if your family has joined, and your best friends, we'll arrange it so that they will never be able to speak to you ever again. The "positive effect" we will have on these new (unsuspecting) ones will turn on them like a constricting snake and squeeze the life out of them forever.

We only tell such ones Half the Truth and Consequences of joining up. The other half we save for when such ones want to leave of their own accord. We must also show "sincere concern" for those wishing not to be related to us in the faith any longer. So we reserve the balance of our truth to extort a continuing "positive effect" upon them when they want to leave.

Englishman, more than likely.

We Tyrrell's don't cotton much to authority and have given rise to many an antidisestablishmentarian (and not a few vintner's and oeniphiles). I recommended Tyrrell's long flat red to Ozzie over a year ago. He rhapsodized about it for some time I might add.
