  Non-evidence reasons why people embrace Evolution.

  evolutionists always claim that the reason why they believe in evolution and reject creation is due to "evidence".

  they frequently use the opposite term "no evidence" in relation to any type of intelligent design, or creation, (and especially to genesis creation and flood history !).

  their advocated beliefs always tend to include whatever is necessary to believe in to intellectually "explain" the existence of the universe, world, and its creatures without needing god).

  However I think that their principal reasons for embracing evolution often have more to do with other factors than mere "evidence". This thead is about a discussion of some of these other reasons.

  I think that for many ex-witnesses a key ingredient other than evidence for belief in Evolution , is a " moral issue.". if God exists there is moral accountability . We have no need to get heated and debate "perceived

  evil" movie actors ... so why do this with a supposed nonexistent God ? What is the underlying reason for this if

  not the reason I stated above ? explain....

  my personal observation is that these (30-45) years are the coming together of physical, emotional and mental power, a time when.

  most reach the desire , confidence and need to speak out to speak out about all injustice they see around them.. my personal opinion is that after reaching this stage in life you mellow out in your 50's .

  i make this claim by personal life experience.

  I didn't mean to infer that after 45 you have no power, just that it is not the same "raw power " .. a person is more reflective and

  cautious and as many have stated in above posts , "great influence" can be achieved in senior years Thanks for all your thoughts everyone !

  the brothers in the writing department that cooked up the "overlapping generations" for jws, is hard at work on next years district conventions talks and books.

  "Allowing the spirit of true wisdom to come in " (actually due to drastically falling numbers ) ha ha ha !

  they will turn a blind eye to many of the 101 reasons for disfellowshipping.. example petty gambling

  and observation of people even on this board . I feel a person becomes more accepting and less assertive after this age group

  i thought it would be interesting to discuss the things we believed as jw's, but were kind of embarassed about and didn't tell the public about, since it would make us look ridiculous.......... one thing i can think of is the idea that only jw's will make it through armageddon.

  everyone else would be destroyed.

  i would never tell anyone that even though we all believed it.

  when it comes to reaching out to our suppressed emotions, feelings and desires from growing up as jehovah witnesses, the information below helps to understand about personal unconsciousness.

  in order to deal with confronting the repressed feelings and emotions that we may not realize exist because our 'ego' (consciousness) neglects our 'shadow' (unconsciousness).

  sometimes we do things without realizing why, well this helps to understand what happens to our mind.

  I think God is completely unknowable

  I'm a DON'T KNOW person; i.e. Agnostic.

  I just don't know.

  Terry .. you appear to amass huge amounts of information to the point of convincing

  many others of the non-existence of God ( due to lack of action or true justice or some such idea ) yet

  you remain in a state of doubt yourself . What is this .... if not some flicker of hope or some needed revealing of God that cries out to you ?
