a branch office or the local congregation elders do not have the authority to make medical decisions for a christian, even if he asks what to do.

(galatians 6:5) however, the elders can share what jehovah says in order to help a christian make a wise decision.

Isn't it funny, elders can't tell a person what to do, but they can DF them if they make the wrong decision (according to their opinion) about blood.

Read Romans 8:31-39 - nothing can separate you from the Love of God and Jesus - not even a man made religion claiming to be his "channel"

I know you are young, my heart goes out to you. Please know that God and the Bible are totally separate to what the WTBTS teaches.

i just wanted to introduce myself and say a big hello to all of my mentally diseased friends.. i say friends because i have been lurking for some time so it feels like home (us lurkers are a bit scared and cautious so it takes a while).

i won't bore you with too many details, but i am a born in, currently serving as the cobe of a congregation.

my wife and i have pioneered for the last 10 years and were shaken awake by that ridiculous 15th july 2013 wt about the generation and 1914.. my wife who is much smarter than me has questioned for years.

Our hall is asking for money...

i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.

we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.

it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

Personally I hope that they keep asking. I thought May broadcasting was going to wake up a lot of people, but would you believe there were some who actually liked it?

So the more crappy spiritual food they put out there and the more they turn corporate, the more chance people will wake up.

i don't have a problem using jehovah but i find it funny that in the broadcasting for this month, they go to great lengths to discuss why we use jehovah's name but don't actually mention how they got to it with no vowels.

again they exclude information.. he mentions jesus name being yeshua or yehoshua, but we know how to say his name in hebrew there is no conjecture there.

one understanding is because the jews stopped using that name the old scribes would copy down the tetragrammaton but then put the vowel markings for adonai (which is the hebrew word for lord) above it to remind them to say adonai.

1. If God wanted THIS name known wouldn't he have the power to let us know what his actual name is?

2. If the Jewish custom not to use this name was wrong, would not have Jesus corrected this as he did with the Sabbath, throwing people out of the temple, etc.?

3. Would it not be part of the model prayer?

Food for thought..

Jesus said we should do things in HIS name to the glory of who? The Father.

I Went Into "Cult Mode" The Other Day..

if you recall, i'm just coming to grips with ttatt and atheism after a few years of doubts.

made a long post around here, a while ago, talking about the very subject.

but, anyways.... so the other day, my wife was telling me how she was just exhausted and "peopled out.

We were exactly where you are last year. Don't worry it takes time to de-progam the guilt.

We found that we could read our bible and worship God without them. So now we relish any chance to miss the meetings and find we feel closer to God when we don't go.

Does your wife have doubts too?

so we all know that "crazy" brother or sister.

every kingdom hall has one.

they give the best comments (from a hilarious perspective), have experiences with the "demons", but most importantly, they are on about 10 deifferent kinds of medications.

It takes just as much faith to be an atheist as it does to believe in God.

There are a lot here who can give you the atheists perspective, but I am still a believer. I am also on this awakening journey - one thing I am trying to do is not let the BORG ruin my trust in everything.

We are victims of mind control and so before you throw out God give him as much chance as you give the opposing view.

In relation to Demons - I do believe in the supernatural realm but the JW's use it to scare people where as the bible says we are not under Satan's authority.

Interesting Experience when Being Around - Former Friends / Current Witnesses

i am not da or df, however anyone that knows me, is aware of the fact that i'm an apostate.

i help my witness dad, in his business two days a week, the business is in a public place, where witnesses often visit.. recently some witnesses, from my former congregation, have visited my dad, (not knowing, that i would be there).

yesterday a friend of my dad's came to visit my dad, and as he approached i said "hey fred, how are you?
