Should DF'd people talk to other DF'd people??? YOU be the judge...

ok all... i was in a store looking for bedroom furniture and in walks this former elder with his new woman - they too are shopping for bedroom furniture.

he got df'd like 5 years ago so he has no idea i'm df'd.

recently, i've been thinking about how, when i got df'd, i would sit in the parking lot of the kh waiting for the meeting to start, and so would other df'd people.

I think I remember reading something somewhere that said that df people are not supposed to talk to each other, they are after all, each and everyone bad associates and could harm your already harmed spiritual well being, the borg thinks that it is better for you to be completely alone for a year or more. because then you will never think about screwing up again.. hahahaha (evil laugh)

i have just spent the last 3 or 4 hours reading everyone's posts and i am so thrilled and relieved that sites like this exist which allow us ex jw's to express ourselves.

i feel compelled to share my story, even though it is probably quite unremarkable.

i have this feeling that finally being able to express my thoughts albeit on the web, will finally allow me some freedom!.

welcome! I am new here also.. I have been out for about 4 years, but the first 3 I just did not think about it at all, I wanted to have sex and talk to my df sister so I left, but I never thought about questioning the rest of it.. until I found JWD.. it is a great place, I am part way through CoC and Combating Cult mind control, both of which I am really enjoying.

i saw one comment that indicated a jc was, in his case, made up of 6 elders.

normally i think 3 or 5 is the number.

i think mine was 3 - though i did not attend the party.. jeff .

I Think I want to go to Heaven when I die..

i have never really thought about it.. but i think i do want to go to heaven.. i want to have a personal relationship with jesus, feel comfortable praying to him and to god.

and even if it is a lie, i want to hope for it and believe it, and someday teach my children the same..

is that wrong?

I have tired to lay some groundwork.. I call my brother, and said this guy at work said all this crap.. (quoted stuff from the box) but I told they guy that he was crazy, and asked my brother what he thought, and he cannot change that he said it was crazy now.. hahaha (it really will not make a difference but one can hope.)

Shunning of ex JW family members imposed or optional?

some supportes of the jws argue that the wts does not impose on its followers to shun and disgrace ex jw family members, it leaves them the option to decide on the issue and some shun and others do not.

is that an honest arguments or is it like the blood issue where the wts supposedly doesn't impose on its members the decision to refuse blood?

for all we know the non shunning of ex jw family members except for absolutely necessary contact could lead a jw to dfing.

according to their lit, they must do it.. unless that family member happens to live with them.. then they can talk to them, otherwise it is only in case of emergency.. but I its force to different amounts at different congs.

Here in Missouri, we got around problems with dogs by carrying those dog zappers that you use when you are training dogs. Emits a high pitched noise that only dogs could hear. I think that it was on the list of supplies for Field Service. They would roll the window down, push the button, the dog would run for its life and then take the door. always keeping the zapper in their pockets in case the dog came back for more. :).. the good old days.. I do not miss them at all!

awwww.. that is so sweet, and wonderful that your family does not feel the need to let her in on the very grown up things that young JW children were taught.. Its sad when the JW kids are the ones tell the other kids on the playground grownup things.. but it seems that that happens more often than not because of the distorted since of the world that JWs have.
