What did you do?

to all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.

come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.

the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?

blah blah to you as well. having a boring day? you must be. such a good brother as yourself would not even have the time since every moment of your life must be consumed by only what the org deems is proper.
how do you dare to assume that i no longer believe in Jehovah or the bible. are you my judge? i have never felt closer to Jehovah than now i am free to love him without the guilt of not putting in enough time in svc or not wanting to go to a meeting just because i didn't feel like it. only my God knows who i am and how i feel in my heart.
judge not my man or you will be in for a sad awakening.
oh yeah, i forgot to tell ya what my "then" fiance, who was in good standing and a pioneer, gave me as a present after i got baptized.
he took me home, made passionate love to me and told me not to tell.
WOW, such good standing and ain't that the truth. i still love Jehovah too. how amazing!!!!!

I cryed today...

i recieved this note from a young person i know personally.

it brought tears to my eyes for someone so young to see things so clearly.

why can't six million others see this simple reality and the need for change?.

hi,
as a child i was also molested by a close blood relative so i can relate to you. the org doesn't really care about us. i have since left the org. i still have a friend in the "truth" who has told the elders about how her father and brother molested her and the fuckin' brothers didn't do a thing but ask him if it was true. as soon as this molester told them no, they just ended it there. what a damn disgrace!!! and he is a brother in such good standing. there are two different set of rules in the org. maybe three or four. who the hell knows. all i know is that when it comes to something like this it is swept under the rug. and that is the damn truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i didn't leave the org because of doctrinal beliefs. i left because i wanted to life my own life without anyone telling me what to do, what to watch, what magazine not to read what movie not to go to, what festivies that i could not attend or what objects not to wear as jewelry. i couldn't stand that at all. i wanted my freedom. as an adult i said to myself, "the hell with this. i complained to my father that i was no longer a kid and i am giving my fought after freedom to an org. how perverted."

Dress, Grooming, freedom...

i was just sitting here thinking about the restorative yoga poses that i'll be doing later to .

help with my stiff muscles, and realized what a joy it is that i have the freedom to do them now.. if i was still a jw, i wouldn't.. i'm not an extreme person.

but i do enjoy the immense freedom that i have now when it comes.

i am glad to see that you have taken back your own freedom. your cong. must have been very narrow minded and old fashioned because i never heard of leather jackets being off limits. here in n.y. it is never even a question. i guess it just depends on where your cong. is located in the country and that is wrong. i have noticed when i was attending the k.h. that you can basically do what you want depending on what hall you went to. amazing isn't it? i was always taught that every jw in every k.h. is on tract with every other hall . there is not supposed to be any difference due to local. here again is man dictating what must go on in his own area. certainly not what jehovah intended. they do preach that we are suupposed to be of one mind and in unison. huh! glad to hear of your freedom and continue on with your yoga. enjoy the feeling of complete peace of mind in meditation.

it is sad to see all the hurt & pain & confusion that the org has caused, and continues to cause.

you are so right about leaving the k.h. is like getting a divorce. it does take awhile and the "so-called" friends make you feel like you should harbor guilt since you have left the truth. that was the hardest thing for me. the guilt that they make you feel. i have finally gotten over the feeling but it did take a long while.

i am glad to hear that you are happy in serving who you want to serve. i am inactive and have really no intentions of going back. jehovah will always be in my heart though. we all have the right to our beliefs and i respect that. just see things clearly and if you feel that in your heart you are then so be it.

Governing bye-bye

well as most of you know, when the society reorganized the governing body retired as officers, in fact the society itself is run by earthbound members.. .

recently two governing body members kicked the bucket, klein and swingle.

that leaves the jw's with just eleven governing body members, who spiritually feed the masses, while the other sheep run things.. however, six of the eleven are so old they don't even know what time of day it is, the other five are younger and newly.

i am not a member of jw's anymore but i still do have a friend who still attends. we still talk because even though she is still a member, she agrees that no one can tell you who your friends can be as long as these friends are not out to harm you.
well as far as the governing body is concerned, i was told that they are preparing for "great tribulation". remember that? yeah, that's what i was told but no one can give anyone this info as far as i can remember in my studies with jw"s. who knows what they are really up to maybe there is some sort of coverup taking place. who knows?
whatever, i prefer living without fear or guilt.

your story is like most of us who have left the kingdom hall. i was a baptized member myself and i came to the same conclusion about them. i had to find myself instead of other people telling me what to watch on t.v., movies not to see, music that is considered unacceptable and who or who not to associate with. it began to felt like my life was being totally controlled. i started asking myself, "what happened to free will? what happened to serving jehovah because you feel complete love for him and not guilt because of people always having an eye on you: just waiting to find something to run the elders with." that was ridiculous. we are all adults in this world and thus not answerable to men who also sin behind closed doors. i am glad that you have decided to lead your own life the way that you feel like leading it. take care and thanks for sharing your story.

Do You Think That You Might Turn Back To Jehovah?

i`ve never yet been snubbed by a jw.

the reason is that i refuse point blank to speak to them unless they speak to me first.

so, if i`m visiting my jw mum and jw visitors arrive which they often do i just smile, raise one eyebrow slightly, and look `em straight in the eye!.

I don't know about returning any time soon but it is still in the back of my head. Jehovah will always be in my heart. I never left him, I left the hypocrasy. I suppose like Java that one day I can and will go back because we are not supposed to serve man but "LOVE" Jehovah.
Still thinking it. Have been for about 11-12 yrs. now.
