"If the bible in Deuteronomy says that God is one, and that He’s the Lord of lords, then would it make sense to say if there were two Lord of lords, then one of them would have a lord that He wasn’t the lord over?"
WOW!!! this is a really really good question.
one that everybody on this board is dying to have answered!
another good one is:
is it possible for me to be my own grandpa??

Who is the Lord of lords?
by Antredd inin order to understand who the lord of lords is, some groundwork on god being one needs to be established as biblical truth.
if the bible in deuteronomy says that god is one, and that hes the lord of lords, then would it make sense to say if there were two lord of lords, then one of them would have a lord that he wasnt the lord over?.
if the two lord of lords were equal, then they both would have a lord which doesnt make sense and contradicts the bible about god-jehovah being just one lord of lords.

The Most Insane Thing Ever Printed by the Watchtower?
by Leolaia ini found this while perusing through old golden ages at the new york public library.
it is so patently ridiculous and offensive, i thought i'd just post the thing without comment.

Hi from a newbie here
by tere1998 ini joined this site about a week ago and have enjoyed reading all the posts and chatter.
i was raised in the jws, baptized at 17 (didn't know any better) but once i got married and had a baby, i just didn't have enough time to go to all the meetings during the week.
we got the "shepherding calls" and pretty much were looked down on for not going to all the meetings.

satan versus jehovah in the last two hundred years...
now this is new light to me, and helps bring the big picture into focus
what really convinced me was how that woman was trying to write
such drivel "in the midst of gingerbread and baked beans in the kitchen,
and a baby at her feet"......satan for sure!
ha! ha! she sure met her match when the lord sent abe along.
thanks, leolaia! -

hmmmmm....
due to the suspect nature of this topic....
and in order to protect the integrity of the board, and "post counts"....
i move that the total of minimus's posts on this thread be subtracted
from his grand total...
in the interests of fairness, of course. -

So here's what I'm thinking...my bleeding heart liberal rant...
by changeling ini heard on the news this morning that the us has finally met it's enlistement quota.
they acheived this by offering a $20,000 bonus upon enlisting.. the us has also relaxed it's standards as to who they allow to enlist.
a criminal record and drug issues will no longer keep you out of the armed forces.. so, in many cases the country is sending uneduacted, criminally inclined young men and women to a nasty war, to witness atrocities that furthur sear their conscience.

Questions For Those That Entered the Armed Forces After Practicing JWism
by R.F. inwith having so many close to me serve in the armed forces, it only helps me appreciate even more those that serve in them.
i've had 7 uncles and a grandfather serve in the u.s. army, another grandfather in the u.s. navy, my late brother-in-law served for 6 years in the air force right on up to his death earlier this year, and my father also served in the air force in his pre-jw days.. even while being a very devout jw, i still had the utmost respect and appreciation for those serving.
from what i understand after chatting with many of you is that some among us on jwd have entered the military after leaving the religion.

hi hortensia
it looks to me like the events of 9/11 became the PERFECT foil for
this administration to continue and expand operations as usual...
i suspect this perfection of circumstances is what allows some of
the 9/11 conspiracy theorists to hold onto their beliefs...i'm not one.
sorry, i don't think US military operations are mainly about
terrorism. if our government really cared much about terroristic
responses to us, then they would implement foreign policy that
would encourage nicer reactions. like respecting national sovereignty,
or adopting the novel notion that what other nations have really
belongs to them, etc...
RF, i really do wish that it was mostly about protecting our freedoms,
and "those of others". -

Week long Elders school announced
by JWFreak inat the agm it was announced that all elders in the us will attend a weeks 5 days kingdom ministry school next year.
there will be a different class held at patterson each week until all us elders have attended.
not sure about other countries.

It would really be a shame if this kind of financial and family burden ends up being the straw that causes more elders to finally decide to step aside.
I'd really hate to see that.
