I worked in finance and accounting my entire working life, about 24 years, and one day while trying to balance a spread sheet, I realized I just didn't give a flying flip where the missing ten cents was.

I quit my accounting job and took a job in the education department at the place I now work, a maritime-themed science center, and spent my work days blowing up hydrogen balloons to explain combustion, teaching 4th graders about the importance of watersheds, and creating educational material for the local schools. This led to me becoming the webmaster for this science-center and I have not regretted one second of it. Plus, I get to go to work in shorts and tennis shoes.

Sometimes, you have to take that leap of faith to get out of a rut and find employment doing something you truly love.

What is the the source of your spirituality ?

the recent post on my favorite topic "spirituality" gave me a question to ask .

what inner drive compells us to seek our source .

the experience of feeling that active presence has certainly made a profound change in me.. i understand a great many things now .

Source of spirituality, for me, is the persevering human spirit. I see many ugly things in this world that break my heart and bruise my spirit. Then, out of the chaos, I see human beings rallying together for a common cause. Strangers, who have also been broken hearted and bruised, set aside their own wounds and hurt to help out a fellow man who is hurting.

This, above all other things in my spiritual journey, renews my faith and heals my heart.

To all who are in pain and choose to reach out to those who are in pain, bless you.

Dating a Disfellowshipped Chick

i'm this orthodox christian dating a disfellowshipped jw chick.

my priest says there's hope because she's been disfellowshipped and to give it 6 months.

one minute says she wants to become a citizen, the next minute i tell her that if she does that as an american i would expect her to salute the flag and especially vote if she naturalizes, and then she talks about going back to her own country!!.

Seems your patriotism is wining out over your desire to be with this young woman. You will always have this mindset and I can't see you having any respect for her even if she does everything that you are demanding of her. Do her a favor and let her go.
